There was only one other family dining, and the space stayed empty the entire time. The service was genuinely great. Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, and a really cute, cozy space. I especially loved the Christmas décor and overall vibe--it felt warm and inviting. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the prices. The house salad was $13 and honestly one of the most basic, smallest, and most boring salads I've ever had--very underwhelming for the cost. We also ordered quesadillas, a cheeseburger with fries, and grilled cheese with tomato soup. My son enjoyed the burger and fries, and the quesadillas were flavorful, generously filled with chicken and veggies, and came with sour cream, pico, and guac. The tomato soup was tasty, while the grilled cheese was just okay. One small but appreciated detail: canned soda. Cold, crisp, and not flat which is always a win. Lunch for 3 came in just under $100, which felt high given what we received. One frustration was being seated in a tight corner right next to the kitchen even though the dining room was completely empty. We were so close I could literally see into the kitchen and count items on the shelves. On top of that, the hostess repeatedly walked by calling out "corner," which became distracting and honestly a bit irritating. Overall, I liked the vibe, but the food-to-price ratio missed the mark for me. It wasn't bad--just alright.

Initially he picked a different bar, but with significantly lower reviews (3 stars). I wanted a "gastropub" so chose Moran's. I'm so happy we did! We sat at the bar since we knew we wanted to watch the game. The place was pretty full with only 2 seats open at the bar and 2 tables in the back. The bar itself isn't that large but has adequate seating. We ordered beer and cider to start and then the Moran burger and steak sandwich. These both come with either fries or a salad. We opted for fries. The burger is unlike most out there -- it has truffle mayo, arugula, Irish-style bacon, Irish cheddar, and crispy onions. OMG this was heaven! I love burgers and this ranks as one of the very best ones I've EVER had. The owner was there also serving drinks and he was so nice! Amazing pub in Hoboken! Will definitely be back!!

Since my last visit, I had only ventured there once for a drink, but it had been far from a first choice. I loved that they had live music and a casual vibe, but my past culinary experience had been a letdown. However, I was very pleasantly surprised on my recent excursion. We grabbed seats at the rustic bar and enjoyed friendly service and pints of Kane Head High, my favorite beer. The crisp, refreshing brew went well with my cup of Chicken Noodle Soup. While that might sound like an odd "snack", I selected it because it was one of the few appetizers on the menu that was not fried. The broth seemed to interestingly be made of tomatoes and potentially other vegetables. It was packed with large, spiral noodles, shredded chicken, and fresh spinach. It was an interesting rendition for sure, but it was also very tasty, despite the fact that it was rather greasy. I was also bummed that it did not have more chicken and that it had not been served with any crackers. Oh well! Overall, it at least had left me with a much better impression than my last trip had.

We were there as happy hour ended, so perhaps it was a happy hour thing, but was left with the impression they were a tiny pour establishment. Had heard that their crispy cauliflower nuggets were a specialty, so gave them a try. Very pleasant. Light breading, good crunch, great flavor. Recommend, and would be surprised if we ever came and didn't order. Split a house salad. Good and plenty to share. Just a bit inconvenient to try to split at the table on to small plates. No fresh utensils between courses. Wait person just moved the forks and knifes off the plates back onto the table as they removed the empty plates. Something I've always found off putting and cheap at what otherwise seems a nice restaurant. Wife got the steak frites, which was clearly the best dinner choice. Nice sized piece of well charred hangar steak with a good pile of wonderfully crispy fries. I got the sausage fusilli calabrese. Some chunks of really tasty house made sausage. The pasta appeared to be house made as well; long strands though without the usual fusilli curliness. Honestly, they tasted fine, but looked very much like a bowl of pasta earthworms. If the pasta shape is adjusted, I might recommend or order again. A nice comfortable place with a few opportunities for improvement.

While the place had outdoor seating, it was a bit too warm on that day to really enjoy it, so I grabbed us a table inside instead. The restaurant was very dark with only candlelight to illuminate the menu. The acoustics were also not amazing, as the room was extremely loud. However, aside from that, the space had a really hip, seductive vibe. It was also no longer BYO and now offered all sorts of unusual wines, craft beers, and intriguing cocktails. Like on my last visit, we were blessed with a really professional, friendly server. He was a complete delight and indulged my request to try tastes of both the prosecco and Grüner Veltliner before committing to one or the other. Though both wines were complex and delicious, I selected the crisp Casa Coste Piane "Col Fondo" Prosecco from Veneto, Italy. My friend and I decided to share two pasta dishes. The Cavatelli was served with a Moroccan-spiced lamb ragu and topped with sprinkles of sheep's cheese from nearby Nettle Meadow Farm. I was told to mix the cheese into the rest of the ingredients, which were warm and allowed it to melt into a gooey delight. The lamb sauce was so multi-dimensional and really paired well with the funky cheese. It was a delicious plate. We also shared the Triangoli alla Trapanese, which was essentially triangular shaped ravioli that were stuffed with goat cheese. The delicate dumplings were then plated with fresh black mission figs and drizzled with tangy Villa Manodori balsamic vinegar. It was such an unique pasta creation that was truly another winner. Though I sampled less items than on my last trip to Flour, I loved every moment of my experience. From the cool crowd and buzzing atmosphere to the modern Italian food and new beverage list, the restaurant was a real gem.

We ended the night with the s'mores dessert, which was rich and chocolatey. Also, the fact that the restaurant is BYOB is a huge plus! The only downside was that I lost an item during our visit. I had a really hard time finding their contact information online, so I had to go back in person to ask about it, which was a bit annoying. Ultimately, they weren't able to recover it, but the food itself was still outstanding.

My steak sandwich lacked char and had no depth of umami, along with a forgettable bun and fries that became oily and mushy way too quickly. The margarita picante is hardly spicy, so don't worry about letting your spice-averse friends take a sip.

The service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. We started with the French onion soup, although it arrived at the same time as our entrees instead of beforehand. Even so, it ended up being my favorite dish of the meal. Rich and flavorful. For my entree, I ordered the steak and eggs. It was decent, but the quality of the steak wasn't quite what I expected. My mom had the chicken salad, which she said was satisfying, and my husband ordered the eggs, ham, toast and French fries, a solid classic breakfast that he enjoyed. The menu we had was specific to the tasting even but all made by the same everyday chef. The first course was white asparagus with a hollandaise sauce and that was so tender and delicious but light enough that I wasn't full at all. The second course was halibut with risotto and crab and there was so much meatiness. It was my favorite place and the flavors went so well together. Next was grilled oysters and I've never liked oysters but these were amazing! The bacon and breadcrumbs that had a slight lemon flavor went so well with the oysters. Next was lamb loin with stewed white beans and carrots. The lamb was medium rare, I could have skipped the beans but that's me. Dessert was a strawberry Terrine which was full of fresh and authentic strawberry flavor. I would come back and try their normal menu and also do a tasting again as it was delicious and reasonably priced.

We were informed the entire party had to be present to be seated. I countered the hostess, noting we had a quorum (and a timeframe) but was assured our time did not begin until after we were seated. I returned to the bar and made eye contact with several of the attractive bartenders, however, I was never offered a beverage. Not even water. Shortly thereafter the hostess made an accommodation and allowed our table to be seated minus the late guest. The ambiance was chic and fun, we conversed while we waited to be served which took awhile. It is important to note the bottomless mimosa brunch has a set limited menu.
