I have never called for Bob's Towing but due to an experience I had today I WILL NEVER CALL for the services of Bob's Towing. I am just driving in Rowland Heights when I encountered someone driving like a maniac in a Bob's Towing vehicle. The driver made a left out of the condo area on Larkvane Rd. He turns left in front of me with some space but not much. I am minding my own business yet I see him looking back at me through his side mirror. I hear him very clearly yelling and cussing saying things like "what are you doing bitch" very hostile and waving his hand around outside the window. It is a hot day so his window was open and so was mine. I was able to hear everything that he was saying. I am not sure if the inappropriate words were for me or the car in front of him. It really doesn't matter who it was directly toward at this point. The point is that is extremely unprofessional. Especially for someone who is driving a vehicle that is suppose to be representing a company. I am never really one to complain because I work in the service/customer service industry and I deal with complaints all the time but this is really just too much. Someone really needs to speak to the driver regarding his behavior. It really reflects badly on the company as a whole because now when I think of Bob's Towing I will remember one of their drivers being an asshole. And guess what I got down the license plate number and I already called it into the company. I hope this will be handled. The license plate of that particular vehicle was 8X36090. I can't believe AAA would even vouch for a company like this. Had my buddies Mercedes Benz SL55 towed to dealer for work to be done. As the driver was pulling the car on to the flat bed he scrapped up the front bumper of the car. After being told to stop the driver jumps out and tells us don't worry every car that gets towed get scrapped. Um...I don't think so I have towed my other cars before that are much lower and they all used wooden blocks and never had a scrap or scratch. This is the worse experience I have had. I got a flat tire called AAA, they said Bobs towing was gonna be in 30 min, after 45min Bobs called and said another 20min, after another 30, i get another call for another 20min, after 1.5hours i get another call for another 30min. total racket of an operation... appears they select particular 'nicer' cars to tow by Frank&Sons warehouse --- while all the other cars that were obvious show patrons were not towed, my car was. and it happened to be the only car that wasn't a heap parked in this area. so since they are 'closed' on Saturdays (according to the office worker), they charge an extra $90 on top of the $262 to open up their yard gate. I don't get it-- if they're not open Saturday, then what's with all the 'open' signs in the office window?! Pass on these guys. They are flat-out liars and cheaters. AAA should not outsource them. You should and can demand any other tow company but Bob's. I flat out refuse to accept service from them when I call AAA. This might take a little longer--but not really, since Bob's will delay your service for any reason--especially so if not from AAA. Any other tow company will show up sooner than AAA. Management does not accept responsibility for anything. Taz is in fact the owner, but pretends to be the owners "son" to not be accountable. I actually just open an account with Yelp to write about how bad the service is here. If you are not AAA member don't even bother to call them. I was going to pay cash and I was less than a mile away them. They told me to wait one hour, I waited 2 hours!!! when I called them to see if they were coming they ask me if I was a AAA member I told them I wasn't so they told me I had to wait for another hour and advice me to call another towing company because they were very busy. They told me that they have to go with AAA members first because they have to be there within 30min but I doubt Bob's towing company is that quick I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

avoid doing business with this company at all cost!!! i can not emphasis enough. these people have poor business ethics and will take advatage of you any way possible. i was involved in a accident and immediately called aaa. bobs towing showed up to assist me. i had the vehicle towed to my insurnace recommeded body shop and got a ride home from a friend. once my vehicle was complete i noticed a tow bill for $380 and service advisor informed me that bobs charged them that. my insurance absorbed the cost. i called aaa and was told that my aaa miles were used, so obviously bobs charged two times. i called bobs towing and spoke with a manager and immediately got the wtf do you want attitude. i explained the situation and he basically siad "why do i care its not coming out of my pocket" . . . wow!!! i couldnt believe it! in the event i need aaa again it will come out of my pocket. bottem line is stay away from these guys and tell aaa you dont want them to service you. take the time and read some more reviews i wish i did. read more

We called AAA and had this nice guy show up within 15 minutes. It was a Friday night with tons of traffic and the tow guy got there quick and loaded our work truck quick also. He was completely professional and nice. We expected a long wait and some time to load a large work truck but the service was quick and easy. He mad a bad situation better. read more

I just used them an hour ago through aaa when I had a flat tire. I was serviced by Rudy who was very courteous and even took shortcuts to shorten our drive time when traffic was bad. He handled everything and I didn't have to lift a finger. He also let me checkin at the tire service shop while he was unloading to make things efficient. This company is horrible. Had them contracted to me through Automobile Cub to tow my truck home. The gentlemen complained about putting the truck on his flat bed. However Never had a problem with California Coach towing truck home on same style truck ever. When Ozzie put the truck up . He Hooked it to my back brake line. Causing the line to bust and brake fluid go everywhere. He thought it was humoerus. When I got upset he said his company would pay to fix it and he apologized. He towed the car home. When he arrived my family came outside to take pictures. He quickly unhooked the truck. My wife said she wanted to call the police. He hopped in his truck and took off before she even got to dial. I called and spoke to someone who said they would get back to me. Which they didn't. So I called back today. Got Charlie the manager on the phone. Who said he refused to fix the brake line because I was "rude" to his driver . Hello? The moron just broke my break line. I got a wife with cancer and a disabled daughter this is my only car!! Yea I was upset. He asked me for pictures which I gladly sent and he texted me back instead of calling like a real professional. Said no he would not fix it wasn't his drivers fault. We we were being towed home because of a broken Wheel hub. Not a broken brake line. Now we can't get hub fixed until Brake line is fixed and though it was cleary this untrained drivers fault they refuse. Long story short. Reported to Autombile. Filed report with police department and am planning on suing them for not only the brake line but now court fees, loss of wages and wives missed Chemo treatments. So what would of Cost Charlie @ Bob's towing maybe $50 bucks the most . Is going to cost him over a $1,000.oo plus loss of Automobile Club business. Way to Go Charlie. Eric, contracted with CHP, came to my rescue after my tire blew on the freeway. As I was calling road side service he pulled up ready to help. I had no idea the CHP provided these kind of free services. Eric was kind and patient with me even when I asked him to prove that he was with Metro. I got a flat tire this morning on my way to work. I called AAA and they sent Bob's Towing. They were there in no time. The lady from AAA said it would be approximately 44 minutes. Then I got a call from Bob's and they said it would be 25 minutes (this was maybe 5 minutes after I hung up with AAA). Then they called again when the guy was on his way which was maybe 15 minutes after the initial call. I was very pleased. Also, once the tow truck driver put my spare on, it was obvious that I wouldn't get far. It looked like a bicycle tire compared to my others. The tow truck guy recommended that I go over to La Puente Tires which was maybe 10 minutes away. He suggested getting a used tire to just get me around. Boy, I'm glad he did!! On June 9th, Truck #28 dropped a car off at the mechanic shop I work at. The problem is that they were dropping off the car on a driveway that did not belong to us. They were blocking the apartment complex driveway (blocking renters, mail carriers, etc.) After they did not listen to the owners request on where to park, I went out there and tried to explain that they were parking in a restricted driveway. The man was very confrontational. After I insisted he had to move to unblock the driveway, he agreed. As I walked away to continue fixing cars, I noticed the Bob's Towing Driver went right back to what he was doing. I went back and insisted he HAD to move. He was not listening and he went on just ingnoring me, so I lightly placed my hand on his should to get his attention. He said "Get you hands off of me", so I stopped touching him and I tried to explain he HAD to move. He walked off toward the cab of his truck (I was not sure if he was going after a weapon or what). He walked around the truck and into the office. In front of our office full of customers, he said that I was trying to start a fight and that I was touching him. My boss not understanding what was really happening asked me to not touch him. This guy continues to go outside and drops off the car in the driveway belonging to the apartment complex behind our shop. Not only did this company do whatever they want and not listen to simple requests, but they insult me in front of MY customers who come to us for help. This company is terrible and I do not recommend it to anyone. If they are this careless about the people they serve, then I am surprised they are still in business. I've lived in the area for many years, and every time when I called AAA with car issues I got service from Bob's. Not quite sure about the bad reviews, but at least to me Bob's has one of the best service in town. Their people have been nice and skillful to solve my car problems, fast and thoroughly. The only time they called and apologized for having to arrive late due to peak hours was today, but the guy who helped tow my car in the busy mall parking lot really showed his excellent skill. 6 stars if I could. I'm glad we got covered by Bob's around this area and thanks to AAA for cooperating with them. read more

I had the so called "Pleasure" of doing business with Bob's towing courtesy of AAA. My Saab broke down, and because there aren't any decent saab people around here I had it towed to a well known guy in L.A. This guy took forever to get the front wheels of my car on the lift! Next thing we do is stop at 7-11 because he wanted something to drink...ok fine im cool with that...10 min later we are going again and he has to stop at the shell station to use the restroom....another 10 min go by and we haven't even hit the freeway!! I look at the speedometer and he hit speeds of like 75-80 with the rear wheels of my car in contact with the freeway!! After the car was at the shop, i got a call few hours later "You know your oil pan is damaged and leaking all over the place?" The pan was just fine before it left my house. The only redeeming quality is the management was concerned and is having the damage repaired. I cant wait for Sven da Saab to return home! By far the worst business I have ever dealt with! They are unethical and down right dirty. It pisses me off that a company like AAA would have a contract with this grimey business. I have dealt with this company on 3 separate occasions and each time, it's been a headache, to say the least. The first time AAA did me dirty by sending me Bob's towing was when my car failed to start. The tow guy they sent me jumped started my car and reassured me there was no need for a tow. Furthermore, suggested I leave my car on for 15 minutes and my car would be fine. I gave the guy the benefit of the doubt but to my dismay, my car didn't start because my battery died causing the computer to my car to go kaput. The next day I call AAA for a tow again and they send me the same tow man from Bobs towing. I let the guy know I will drive separately and meet him at Thomas Acura in Covina, off Citrus Avenue. He understood and we departed. I sat at the dealership for about 6hrs before my insurance was able to locate my car and the driver to confirm he had dropped off my car at the Nissan dealership. How anyone working with automobiles could make this confusion is mind-boggling. I was so livid and I could not believe that the tow driver didn't even have the decency to apologize for the error. The second time I dealt with the horrendous business was when my parents were involved a pretty major accident. They have since recovered. The vehicle they were in was totaled and was being kept at, lo and behold, Bob's towing. The day following the accident, there were personal belongings that we wanted removed from the vehicle. My mother, the registered owner, was at the time in intensive care. My father and I went to the office of Bob's towing to retrieve the personal belongings. The company simply refused because the registered owner must be present. We explained the health condition of my mother, provided the proof of insurance indicating my father as a listed driver, etc. They said either the registered owner must be present or a notarized power of attorney must be produced. The following day we provided exactly what they had asked and still refused my father, her husband (with same address and last name), and now, her power of attorney is still unable to retrieve personal belongings from the car. At that point, we stressed that we have complied with what the management requested and they still refused to assist us. Frustrated and upset at such a tragic time, we came to the conclusion that we would need to involve authorities. At that point, management was all of a sudden willing to accept the power of attorney they had requested. If the two incidents weren't enough drama, the third and most recent time AAA contracted Bob's towing was when I was involved in a collision. I reported it thru my insurance and all that jazz. As luck would have it, they sent Bob's towing to tow my car to the body shop. The tow driver comes, puts my car on the bed and says there's gonna be a charge for the miles beyond your AAA allotment. The guy says it's $90 but if I gave him cash it would be $60. He gave me some long excuse why giving me cash would expedite the process when I offered to pay with card. I didn't have the cash but I did go to the nearest ATM. I was assessed an ATM fee plus what my bank would charge for using an outside ATM. I gave the guy the cash and he was on his way. My car successfully arrived at the body shop but I was really uneasy about the situation so I contacted my claims specialist. She was in shock that they charged and reassured me she would get my money back. Not sure if the dispatcher failed to inform the tow guy that the tow should be of no cost or if the tow guy overlooked the service call. Nonetheless, the tow guy himself called me and left a voicemail that he would reimburse my money. When I got his call I made sure to request the fees i incurred, a total of $6. The guy, who I hope was already in hot water, complained that that was a lot for fees but would pay out of pocket. I agreed and when this weasel came to return my money he apologized. Sympathetic, I responded with "it's okay, thank you though". But then he followed up in a snarky manner, "it's not my fault and I had to pay that out of my own pocket you know", it was in that moment, I realized this company has no integrity, no morals and no reason for my business. They left such a bad taste in my mouth that, I'd rather push my car 100 miles barefoot in the freezing cold than take a tow from them. Who ever gave them their business license must have been paid off because it's appalling how they conduct business. Had a horrible experience with this company. Was involved in a car accident In Whittier and had to call AAA at 9:45pm for a tow. You would think being in the city would mean fast services, I was mistaken. Was told at 9:45pm my tow truck would arrive within 45 minutes, long story short, my tow truck arrived at 11:50pm! And every time I would call AAA or the driver, they kept telling me it would be 15 more minutes. This was my first bad experience with AAA, do not recommend this tow truck company at all! After 20 minutes, no one came and had to call again and they told me that they were doing a shift change and need another 15 minutes. The first time was when my wife had a flat tire, we went thru our insurance (Ameriprise), we were told the tow truck would be there in 20 minutes. The car was less than 5 miles from their tow yard, 2 hours later, the tow company calls us to say their drivers are stuck in traffic. These guys have over 20 tow trucks in their lot... Hmmm I decide to call them myself from my phone, I say I will pay cash and only need the car towed to my house which is 2 miles away. Like a miracle from heaven, they have a driver that can be at my wife's car in 10 minutes lol, that's amazing!!! I had a different tow company bring the car back to my house. These people are crooks. They are also a predatory towing company - so watch out. We had our service car parked in a shopping center while helping a customer (in the shopping center) and Bob's towing came to tow the car away! They broke the driver's side window when they couldn't get the car on the truck. Fortunately we saw them break the window and came running out. They would not tell us their names (said they were called "Bob Dylan") but that changed quickly once we called the cops on them. The police arrived and helped us out - Bob's towing agreed to pay the damage for the broken window . Then they refused to pay. We finally got a check from them - and they deliberately wrote the wrong name on the check and refused to re-do it! After (literally) 50 calls to them (I tied up their phone lines the whole day so that they would stop hanging up on me), we FINALLY got a check. BEWARE. These people are CRIMINALS. We reported them to AAA who wouldn't so anything about it since the incident did not happen because we called AAA. Hmmmm. read more

I called triple A and they sent me some lame driver from Bob's towing who showed up late, was rude and has issues. I got to track him on my phone and when he got near my location the driver entered he arrived when in fact he was nowhere in sight he was at the park down the street using the restroom. A dispatcher called said he was coming 20 min ago Liar it took another 40 minutes in total I waited 1 hour.
