I used this towing company through AAA to move an inoperable vehicle from a friend's house to mine, and the experience was disastrous. Not only did the driver leave before we were ready, but they were also negligent and failed to follow basic safety protocols before departing. As a result, the driver's side door swung open during transit, causing major damage to my vehicle. Upon arrival, the driver also hit my front fence, causing further damage. Despite providing video and photo evidence, the company has given nothing but runarounds. Weeks went by without payment for either the fence or vehicle damage. They then had the vehicle towed to a body shop, during which miscommunication and negligence led to hitting my fence again and damaging my neighbor's vehicle, all documented. The body shop later confirmed that they couldn't repair the vehicle for some reason, so we settled on a payment amount for the damages and had the vehicle towed back to the towing company's yard in the meantime. I still have not received any payment and I've been actively trying to retrieve my vehicle, but it remains in their possession. Every scheduled tow, both to the repair shop and back to me, was handled without regard for our time. We waited all day and they repeatedly rescheduled for vague reasons like rain or "tow yard issues," and it's clear they have no respect for customers' time. This company has demonstrated incompetence, negligence and a complete lack of accountability. Even a simple make-good situation became a nightmare under their care. I strongly caution anyone considering them for towing services as you risk damage, delays and a company that shows no regard for your property or time. read more

I waited for almost 2 hours at 5 in the morning for the tow truck to finally show up. I called at about 1 hour and 30 minutes and the company had the tow truck driver call me. It seemed as if he had just been dispatched. When he showed up he told me that he could unscrew my lug nut and would call the company to try and get me a discount. Prior to his arrival I had already unscrewed four, and on the last one, my lug nut key broke! Well, when he called they still made me pay the $130. So not worth it at all. No discount for taking two hours and no discount for providing the service of unscrewing one lug nut and putting on the spare. Which btw, I could've done myself. I will never use them again and I don't recommend them. Now I know to have a spare lug nut key tho. I give them one star for the friendly driver who unscrewed the lug nut. read more

Called AAA service today. California Coach does not have prepared employees for their business. California Coach only comes out with a jack for spare tire replacement.. No, power drill. Employees are not properly trained nor do they adapt to troubleshooting methods on overcoming challenges or learning about how to change a spare if they are unfamiliar with the vehicle. Yes, I had to google everything myself.. yes, I had to google where are the oem spare tire tools for a vehicle I'm not familiar with myself. Yes, I had to google how to remove the spare tire myself. Employee jacked up the white van. Employee began to remove the bolts from the flat tire as the car was jacked up. Suddenly the jack wasn't all seated on the floor safely. And yes, he still decided to remove the tire; even if some of the jack wheels were off the ground. Employee could not mount the spare tire onto the wheel studs. Employee had me place the flat tire under the van. Employee defaulted to using the OEM jack in the spare tire replacement tools for the van, as extra protection for lifting the van higher off the ground to place the spare tire on the wheel studs. I personally ended up mounting the tire myself.. even with the jack wheels off the ground and it could've easily made the van fallen on me. I had little time to have this spare tire changed before the business that I was located at closed. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! If I could rate this towing company zero stars I would. I have waited a while to write this review because I am still in disbelief of the complete and utter lack of professionalism and respect that these employees and company have. I would warn anyone who cares about their car and their sanity to steer very clear of this place. I woke up to a flat tire and called AAA to tow it to my tire company of choice. AAA dispatched California Coach Towing and when the gentleman arrived he proceeded to tow my Jetta from the front rather than placing it on a flat bed. I thought something didn't look right, especially when we got on the freeway, but truth be told I don't know much about cars so I figured that the employee must know what he was doing. Wrong. We got to the tire company and when they asked me to turn my car on and slowly back it into their working space but my car would not start. Come to find out my transmission was completely fucked. The mechanics at the shop told me that it is common knowledge among anyone who knows cars that you do not tow a Jetta from the front because it will place the transmission out of whack. After calling the towing company and explaining what had happened, a very noticeably irritated manager name Ericka, or Erica, told me that they would have to send someone out to come and take a look at my car before I could move forward with having the transmission paid for and fixed by them. When they sent out their employee the young man told me plain and simple that it was a complete rookie mistake by the original guy who towed my car and quote "he should have definitely known better". Mind you, a simple tire change has now turned into a full day affair, causing me to miss work but through all of the frustration I stayed calm and just explained to Erica that I needed this handled immediately because I need my car to go to work. You would think after messing up my transmission I would at least get a simple I am sorry that happened and I understand and we will work to make sure it gets handled quickly. Nope. Throughout this 3 week nightmare I never once received any type of apology or reassurance from California Coach Towing. Instead I was met with constant attitude and contempt for simply trying to understand what was happening with getting my car fixed. I want to be clear that while I was of course annoyed at the original tow truck driver for his negligence, I was also understanding that sometimes things just happen and mistakes get made. This review is to highlight the complete and utter disgrace of manager, Erica. And after reading other reviews on their page I see I am not the only person that has been subjected to her vitriol and horrible customer service. Erica's annoyance at having to do her job couldn't have been more clear from her lack of communication and her icy attitude on the phone. The day this all happened she questioned why I wouldn't use my insurance to get a rental to which I replied why would I use my insurance when this was not a mistake I made? The company should be paying for my rental since it was their fault. Again, no apology. She abruptly hung up the phone, did not call me back, and texted me that they would arrange for it to be paid for through the company. Great. That is the least you could do after messing up my transmission! The entire time my car was in the shop I didn't get one update from them or one check in to ensure that everything was going okay with my car but the day my car was to be ready, payment from California Coach had not yet been made to the mechanic shop so they would not release my car to me. I called Erica to explain what happened and that I needed my car that night to which she replied, "why do you need it today, don't you still have the rental? You need to just use that until we can send payment" in a very, very rude way. I responded that it is none of her business why I need my car today but I need it TODAY and she told me "I don't like your f****** attitude" and HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME. I have never in my life experienced this kind of treatment and attitude from any company or employee ever. The entire time I kept my composure and I remained calm despite this company putting me out for three weeks and for all of the rudeness and for Erica to hang up the phone on me when I am expressing I need my car that day was insane. Insane. She never called me back and rushed payment to the mechanic and I got my car but I was truly baffled at the treatment I received. Why would it ever be the place of Erica to question why I need MY car the day it is ready? It is NONE of your business. The point is that I need my car after your negligent employees messed up my transmission, a very costly negligence, I might add. Save yourself all of the hassle and never, ever come to this pathetic excuse of a place. read more

My car got a flat tire on the freeway and I had to pull over on the emergency shoulder on the 57 north freeway. The shoulder did not have provide a stable flat ground to make towing easy. I had to pull over on uneven dirt/gravel and were very close to where cars were passing by at 60MPH. I was very anxious and frustrated over the whole dangerous situation and accidentally ended up giving the tow driver the wrong information regarding where I was. He called me back to confirm the address and ended up finding me even though I gave him the wrong location!! Frank was the name of the tow driver who helped me and he is amazing. He was able to get my car rigged up on the side of the freeway on uneven terrain without any issue. He made me feel safe and calm throughout the whole process which was great especially since getting a flat tire on the freeway can be a pretty traumatic and stressful experience. I called AAA for a battery service around November 14, they sent Gerges from California Coach Towing. When he arrived, he tested my car battery first,then he used the battery charger, but it will not start,so he called another driver to bring a larger battery charger and it started the car,but he told me clear that the battery is no good so do not turn off the engine, but later on I have to turned off the engine but it started again without problem, and other car mechanic told me that the battery is fine.( it is still good ) I do not think this company has good standards for hiring their employees to qualify for the car batteries related issues,I decided not to have them to provide any service from now . read more

Staff and management are very rude. They also send Triple AAA technicians who don't speak English and are clearly unqualified. The non-English speaking and unqualified technician misdiagnosed my vehicle - all it needed was a battery replacement since I had a warranty. He didn't even try replacing it and just left without any explanation. I ended up paying $400 for a separate tow and battery replacement that should have been covered. Not sure why AAA uses these people. I called for a battery replacement. They show up in a Prius that has duct tape holding the bumpers on. The technician was extremely helpful, he checked the battery and said I needed a new one.... Kinda was expecting since it is the original battery. I said okay let's put one in. He opens the back door of the car, which I can see is pretty empty. He's says I don't have one but let me check with other driver. He calls and said, we can have one tomorrow. I told him okay but I'll be gone tomorrow- we can do it when I return. He started the truck and I put it in the drive way. When the tow truck came I wasn't told it was going to be a flatbed to come which is a big risk since the tower had to get in and drive my car. Although he was kind, his hands and clothes had grease on them. Leaving dark marks all over my leather. When I called California Coach, Erika was rude, dismissive, argumentative, and hung up on me when I was trying my best to help her understand. I even offered to bring the car in person to show her. I sent photos after my initial wipe down of the stains because I didn't want it to set, and she said she couldn't see anything. Even when I first contacted about the situation she cut me off asking for evidence. I had third party opinions and everyone could tell. She kept saying she can't see it and I wanted to escalate the situation and wasn't given any proper contact. All I was asking was for help getting the stain out because they messed up my interior. Especially during the holidays to have this experience, I hope Erika is able to have more empathy and solutions moving forward. read more

They will show up, then tell you they cannot tow your car and will not give you an option to figure it out with AAA. Recently, had my jeep towed, through AAA and requested a flat bed. AAA said it was about an hour wait...okay...I understand. Later, I received a call from the tow company dispatcher...stating it's going to be a 2 hour wait now...fine.... The issue was dealing with the rude tow company dispatcher...she was so adamant on a hook and chain tow. I told her I need a flat bed...just like I requested...because I have a 4x4 jeep! She was so argumentative...she insisted a hook and chain!!! I explained I never had a tow with a hook and chain...even all my mechanics say "make sure your towed on a flatbed"... and I told her that; her reply was "are your mechanics a tow truck driver"... they my not be tow truck drivers, but they have common knowledge!!! Even my jeep manual says..."all four wheels on the ground or all four above ground, when towing" This is my thing, if people are unhappy at their job and can't provide good customer service, they need to find different job, that doesn't require that type of service!! If you set up a tow in the morning all will be gravy. The drivers are quick and very helpful personnel. Setting up a tow in the morning gives you a chance to avoid talking to their dispatch. -- If you call after noon you may run into a below average dispatch voice. If the dispatch number is 909-621-9596 they may fail to provide proper customer service assistance. The people speaking on the phone do not do well after noon. read more

The technician called me at 8:05pm that he was on his way and around 8:43pm, he calls me again to let me know that he would be here within 15-20 mins. Basically an hour goes by and he still hasn't arrived. I called him and he doesn't pick up so I call the office. I call them to tell them the issue and they said they would call me back within 2 mins. I hear nothing from them after 10 mins so I call and no one picks up again. Last week the tire on my rear passenger side popped on the 60 freeway. Triple A sent out Rafael A. to come to the rescue. He was extremely careful and thoughful throughout the entire process. I felt 100 percent safe and taken care off. He informed me of safety protocals and made sure when I got to the tire shop they had my tire(s) in stock. The tire store was crowded and busy and he immediatley knew what to do and took action. I have had to use towing companies before and I have never experinced the level of expertise and knwoledge, overall class, from a towing company as good as this thus far. This place does not even deserve the one star. Was forced to use them through AAA. Waited 2.5 hrs and on the app I kept getting multiple changes and time estimate changes. After multiple calls to AAA, they even gave up and said to use someone else and get reimbursed. Granted this was a Sunday, so understandably things will be slower. However, the unreasonable time expectation and lack of communication was beyond frustrating. We were in a safe location and thankfully had driven a second car, but I would worry in any future cases where that wouldn't be the case.
