Overall going to Bob's was okay. The service is very slow. Even just waiting to get a drink refilled took too long. I sat with an empty glass for quite awhile waiting for the waiter or anyone to come by & refill it. We knew going in that the food would take awhile so we were prepared for that. But waiting so long for drink refills is a bit ridiculous. The food was okay. Nothing out of the ordinary. We might go back to give them a second chance but it'll probably be awhile. read more

The Tacos are delicious and I have a lot of fond memories of growing up on these tacos. It is a bit pricey for being a taco restaurant though and I am not a fan of their potato tacos. It is basically just french fries in a taco. I prefer other local taco places around town. The only reason it was on the food network was because it's so old. read more

Well I live in Miami FL.We saw this restaurant on drive in and dive.So I told my wife on the next trip to Houston we should check it out.And we did.I just came back from the restaurant 40 minutes ago,and I liked it very much.The first time there but I will be back any chance I get.The only reason I didnt give them a 5 star rating is cause i havnt tried all the plates they have to offer,but for what I order which it was the carne guisada with rice and fried beans it was excellent and the portions are big.The waiter was very attentive and very friendly.A great expirience over all.Also if you want to go try to be there after 11 but befor 1.30 pm they do closed at 2.00pm so you can go after the breakfast rush but still have time to enjoy lunch. read more

Saw this place on Guy Fierri's DDD show, so I was a little reluctant to get sucked in by hype. I have seen first hand what happens to good local joints after Food Network comes to town....its not good......THAT SAID..This place absolutely rocks! Tamales are the real thing. Like many others, we saw this on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives". It looked good, so we drove down to Rosenberg to check it out. We were disappointed. Everything was very bland. The queso was bland. The salsa was bland. We asked for some hot sauce, which was also bland. The tamales were OK, but nothing special. The tacos were bland. They have the best tacos on this planet. When someone tells me that some other restaurant has the best breakfast tacos, I laugh in their face because they clearly have not been to Bob's yet. It's all about their hot sauce, dang that stuff is addicting! Pair that up with the fresh made tortillas and their cheese and it's like heaven in your mouth. Nothing special and way over priced. Family of six cost $93. The same run of the mill tasteless Tex-mex you can get anywhere. Cheap factory made taco shells for their crunchy tacos, flour tortillas that are way to thick, tasteless beans, and crunchy undercooked rice. We went there because we saw it on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives....Guy must've been paid good money to give this joint props, was high and had the munchies, or is just a douche!!! They advertise they aren't Taco Bell......but at least Taco Bell has some flavor......What a waste of money. read more

I came here for the guisada for my husband. We had dinner and said the food had no taste pretty bland. Said the meat was tough and had no gravy. The tamales had no taste. I told him how much it cost he was not happy. So needless to say we want be going back. The customer service was pretty good though. read more

Bob's a used to be super authentic now ever since diners drive-ins and dives have been there it's not often at all anymore it's so mainstream they're not even a real Mexican there more texmex there are a lot better Mexican restaurants around for a better price than to go to bobs and get such mainstream food read more

This is a great spot. Pros: Delicious tamales (though not offered every day). I was there Saturday afternoon and was delighted they still had some! Everything tasted great. I enjoyed the decor inside - you can tell they enjoy supporting the local community. Considerations: Make sure you have time if you come to eat. Food service and table service are not speedy. Prepare to come and enjoy an experience, not a quick meal. I've been twice and look forward to future visits - especially to get those tamales! read more

I often enjoyed their tacos but never actually went to this place. Often times we had someone get their food brought to work, etc. But that was many years ago, and I finally had the chance to visit the location and I was excited to eat their tacos again. Man, what a disappoint. The place itself was great, however, because I loved most restaurants like them: small, family-owned, homemade tortillas, and just simply a fine local place. But the 2 stars were the quality. They skimped on the tacos I ordered, it wasn't what I remembered it to be. The service was subpar, they were not at all friendly. I never had good service there, so I didn't expect much from that part, but the tacos were definitely downhill from what I remembered. read more

If you're looking for good Mexican food in this area, look no further. We actually live south of here about 60 mi, but when we are in this area, this is one of our go to places.. The food is good, and the atmosphere fun. I have tried their tamales, not the favorite (I;even had some REALLY good ones - but you can't get em at a store!), but good. This time, I had the Huevos Rancheros. These were good and enjoyable. Always a good and fun place to stop at when in Rosenberg. read more

Gave this place a try after I saw it on Diners, Drive Ins & Dives. I ordered the Barbacoa Tacos which pretty good, and also a Pork Tamale (had better). Service was with a smile and definitely give this place another try next time I'm in Sugar Land. Too bad they're not open for dinner. read more

Best breakfast tacos, hands down. I've had barbacoa, potato/egg, chorizo/egg, and chicharron/egg. Omg, just like grandma makes them. Great flour tortillas, everything fresh and homemade. Yes, there's a wait, but that doesn't bother me if I have a michelada to hold me over. The staff is so nice and treat you like family. Definitely, a cozy ambience, great place for the family to eat, drink and have great conversations, like at home. read more

Ive always been a fan of Bobs and its always great food and I know its always packed when open but its pretty much a guarantee that everytime I go its going to be at least a 45 minute wait from when you sit down and when you get your food. I give the food a good 4.5 but service is lacking. read more

If I could give them a negative 5 stars, I would. Food was shitty, at least they could do was add some spice/flavor. Down right bland food. The service was worst than the food. The server was in a rush to get out of there. I ordered a beer my food (shitty taco plate. The tacos are smaller than you get at a fast food restaurant, with hardly any cheese, if any at all. With old dried rice) and I asked for some chips and salsa, everything came at once. She forgot about me because she was too busy cleaning her tables (refilling the condiments and napkins) , and my order still came out wrong. I had to flag her down (because there is no follow up to see if everything is ok)I told her I was allergic to beans, and it still had beans on the plate. She took the plate back to the kitchen, they took the beans off the plate and gave me back the same plate with beans still on it under the rice. I had to ask for my check a few time, again she forgot about me but kept walking by me to clean and restock her tables and then she realized that she forgot my check after I was staring at her. Bob's food is always good. It's sometime hard to find a place to sit. But that's not always bad - means the food is worth it.

Today was our first time trying Bob's Tacos and it was amazing!! Great Mexican breakfast.

We were introduced to this Rosenberg hot spot a few weeks ago on Diners, Drive-Inns, and Dives. Plenty of others decided to visit Bob's after watching the episode so we waited outside for 40 minutes hoping that the food and service would deliver. The tortillas we incredible, the fajitas were dripping with flavor and the service was prompt and genuine. Bob's exceeded our expectations and sealed the deal with the Snoballs (WOW!). I can still taste the dreamsicle. We will definitely visit again! read more

I'm not sure if I went in with high expectations because of the diners and drive ins show but left a bit disappointed. We ordered migas and huevos rancheros along with a dozen tamales to go and some chips and hit sauce. First off I can't stand when Mexican restaurants charge for chips and dip. That should be a given. The migas were just chips and eggs. No tomato or onions. Nothing special at all. My mom did say her huevos rancheros were good but each meal came with a side of refried beans and potatoes. The beans had little flavor and the potatoes were plain and neither had salt or pepper. They tasted very bland. The hot sauce on the other hand was outstanding and is the reason for the third star. We took the rest of ours to go and had it with breakfast the next day. The prices are pretty steep also. Not what you would expect from a "hole in the wall" . Our bill came out to $34 for two people. Mind you that was also for the doz tamales we ordered but still. We may go back but it's definitely not on our radar any longer. read more

Before I went, I searched for places that may have appeared on Diner's, Drive-In's and Dives. This was one of the places I found and I loved it. The website was quite informative which helped make up my mind to try it out. I loved the old filling station that it is in. Great menu. All local flavors. I went with half a dozen tamales which were an inch thick and full of shredded roast pork - no fat and not grizzle. Loved it. Great service. One of my fiance's friend has been dying to try this place, so we finally did after watching an early showing of the Dark Knight. The place was packed and lucky us the waiter was able to find us a table. Everyone except for me ordered a michelada and said it was pretty good. I ordered a breakfast taco and the beef steak fajita taco. To my surprise these tacos were bigger than what I'm accustom to, so I was only able to finish one. Both tacos were delicious, I definitely get them again. The fiance ordered the lengua plate and OMG was that delicious!! The meat was tender and it melted in your mouth and I loved the spanish rice it came it. Let's just say that I kept eating his plate and when he was done, I finished the rest of his food. There is a snowball stand also by Bob's right next door, we went there twice already and it's really good. read more

I used to love Bob's, like 5 yelp stars kind of love. I would roll out of bed on weekends and make the trek from Needville for a late breakfast. I haven't been in a couple of years since moving away and it wasn't anything like I remembered. It seems like the food has cheapened and become a little less authentic. Nopalitos (cactus) have disappeared from the menu. Very disappointing! It's not a Mexican meal for me without nopalitos. So I ordered what used to be my usual breakfast - the chilaquiles plate. I must happily say that the hot sauce that's served in the big squirt bottle is still every bit as amazing as it always has been. I ended up covering my entire plate in it and it almost made up for the mediocre food. It's seriously that good. The chilaquiles, on the other hand, didn't taste as saucy or simmered as it used to. There was a complete lack of depth to the flavor. The beans were great as usual. The potatoes, like the chilaquiles, lacked a depth. They used to be these succulent little strips of potatoes, but these tasted like the standard breakfast potato - nothing special. It's still a great spot - very friendly with that wonderful community feel. I wish them the best of luck, but I do feel that they have lost a little something special along the way. Maybe they've cut corners to meet the ever increasing food costs or are catering more to the Tex side of things than the Mex side of things. However, I probably won't be back for a while. read more

It wasn't the best. It was just okay. I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to eat there. The homemade tortillas were really good and they have a delicious green sauce. The bacon on my tacos was like bacon bits and wasn't freshly cooked slices of bacon. Overall a bit of a disappointment after all the good things I've heard about Bob's.
