Gary showed up promptly on the morning after Christmas to help me get into my new-to-me truck after the battery had been completely drained (my fault) and my sole key wouldn't turn the driver's door manual lock. Gary diagnosed the issue quickly, cut a new sturdy metal key to force the lock open (as a temporary workaround), thereby protecting my only key from potential damage, and he coordinated with their shop to order a replacement lock, the permanent fix for a known issue with my make & model, which I can have installed at their shop in a few days. Gary also jumped/charged my vehicle's battery for 10 minutes so it had enough power for him to program two new fob keys, at a very reasonable price, and he counseled me regarding how long it would take to fully charge my battery, both via highway driving and by A/C charger. Gary was courteous and professional throughout the entire process, and he answered all my questions in a friendly and knowledgeable manner, with bonus techno background music playing from his van throughout! Gary transformed a bad morning into temporary fix PLUS positive steps toward a permanent solution which will protect me from future lockouts! Do NOT use Bob's Lock & Keys Service. This is a sketchy, unethical business. The employee--a nice kid--did a good job, but he was here less than 20 minutes. We needed a broken exterior door knob replaced and we supplied the new hardware. Their rate is $175 per hour, which is quite steep. Had his fees been disclosed prior to the visit, we would not have hired him--shame on us for not asking. After the job was completed, a Saturday fee was added to the bill. The employee even called to ask if the Saturday fee could be waived, and Bob refused. I was planning to get his business card for future work. Instead, I'm now on a mission to warn others. Ethical businesses disclose extra fees upfront. I will never use Bob's Lock & Keys Service out of WVC again and do not recommend them to anyone. read more

Experienced/knowledgeable! I've used them before and drove 40+ miles each way knowing they would take care of what I needed.

My key got stuck in the ignition and I could not get it out. After 35 minutes and short of losing my battery I called Bob's. During rush hour and traffic I was told about 30 minutes. Gary showed up on 40 but it was a mess out on the roads. So I was super pleased at his promptness. Gary went over and above trying to get it to unstick. Due to a rebuild issue it wasn't possible to repair but he made it so I could get it home. Super friendly, professional, and efficient. I definitely wouldn't hesitate to call Bob's or have Gary work on any locksmith issue that arises While it didn't go 100 % in my favor Gary did everything he could to make it perfect. I needed a deadbolt replaced. Technician came out who charged $200 for callout & quoted $2300.00 to replace the entire door. Stated "the deadbolt was not replaceable, door must be replaced". Different lock service was called. They came & replaced the deadbolt, which fixed the problem for $150. Repair was completed for less than "Bob's" callout fee. I would not recommend this business to anyone. read more

I purchased a new car and needed a second key. I went in and they were extremely helpful. They made the new key fob and valet key and verified that both were working. While doing it, they also taught me about the features of my key and how to use it if the car was out of power. He also showed me how the locking mechanism on the car works without having to use the fob. All of this at a price much lower than I could have gotten it from the dealer. I built a custom home and had someone come out from Bob's Lock Safe and key and they did a terrible job of installing the hardware on my interior doors. My interior doors shatter whenever another door is closed and the hardware is constantly shifting and damaging my doors. To make matters worse the locksmith who was assigned took the unused hardware that I needed to have his shoddy work corrected. The person was clearly not up to the task. I spoke to Justin the General Manager and he told me that it was because my interior weren't prepped for the hardware however neither was my exterior doors which his locksmith did a better job on the installation of the hardware. I spoke with my builder and project manager who built my house and they said it's NOT the doors it was simply a bad job of installing the hardware. When I relayed this information to Justin and asked him to come out and take a look at what his employee did, and to give me an estimate of how much it would cost to remedy the problem, he did not return my text messages or calls. Extremely more expensive than other locksmiths! Shop around before scheduling with them. Service fee is about $70 more than others and labor fee started at $50 more. Do a little research unless they are the ONLY locksmith available and it was an emergency would I schedule with them. read more
