Bob's Lock Safe & Key - Key fob

    Bob's Lock Safe & Key

    (54 reviews)

I highly recommend Gary from Bob's Lock, Safe, and Key!…read more Gary showed up promptly on the morning after Christmas to help me get into my new-to-me truck after the battery had been completely drained (my fault) and my sole key wouldn't turn the driver's door manual lock. Gary diagnosed the issue quickly, cut a new sturdy metal key to force the lock open (as a temporary workaround), thereby protecting my only key from potential damage, and he coordinated with their shop to order a replacement lock, the permanent fix for a known issue with my make & model, which I can have installed at their shop in a few days. Gary also jumped/charged my vehicle's battery for 10 minutes so it had enough power for him to program two new fob keys, at a very reasonable price, and he counseled me regarding how long it would take to fully charge my battery, both via highway driving and by A/C charger. Gary was courteous and professional throughout the entire process, and he answered all my questions in a friendly and knowledgeable manner, with bonus techno background music playing from his van throughout! Gary transformed a bad morning into temporary fix PLUS positive steps toward a permanent solution which will protect me from future lockouts! In short, Gary from Bob's Lock, Safe and Key was awesome!

You know that dreaded feeling as the door closes behind you and your mind screams NOOOOO faster…read morethan you can stop the door? And the reason your mind is freaking out is because it knows the door is self-locking and the keys are on the other side. D'oh! Yes, I experienced this recently and Bob (or one of his buddies) came out to save the day. They were incredibly fast to respond and arrive; then in just a few minutes, we were in! I appreciate their speediness. I hope not to find myself in this situation again, but if I do, I know who to call.

Understand that Control4 only provides the software for whole house or partial "smart" home…read moreinstallations. It assumes no responsibility for appliances connected to its system. The competency/incompetency of any Control4 installation is wholly dependent on the audio/visual contractor, according to Control4. If your contractor fails to provide competent service, indifferent instruction as to how to use the system or simply ignores calls for service you are essentially on your own, though Control4 does provide some assistance telephonically. Local dealers are hit and miss resources and slow to respond. The remote provided is an antiquated piece of junk, that does not unify the system installed. An example is unifying Apple TV with a cable system. Closed captioning on Apple tv requires an Apple remote and Netflix requires a different process. Incorporating the control devices to the entertainment appliances is accomplished with all the sophistication of electrician's tape. Control4 system users should also know when changing cable boxes, removal of the "bud" sensor to Control4 and re attaching it to a new cable box can disrupt the Control4 remote from TV control, requiring the cable remote to change channels and other features, as well as another service call. Perhaps in the hands of a competent contractor the system will behave as advertised. However, life with the system hasn't made home entertainment easier, so much as an overly complicated, fragile experience that we wish had never been installed at considerable expense.

I purchased several Control4 components including the main controller, amplifier, about a dozen…read morespeakers, remote controls, tablets, router, internet switch, and the DVR with cameras. The equipment is very expensive and requires independent 3rd party "approved" programmers to do anything, make even the slightest change, or update non-existent drivers/software updates. I purchased the system 3 years ago and wanted to share my experience and hopefully save some potential new customers a huge headache. They are not compatible with Chanberlain or Liftmaster garage doors as well as Honeywell Thermostats. I have been with 3 different 3rd party programmers in the Atlanta area and find them all to be unresponsive at best. There are many areas of the system that do not work well and unless the 3rd party programmers are selling you new equipment they will not help. I thought I did a lot of research, but apparently not enough for the investment I made and the reliability of the equipment.
