We stopped by on a recent Sunday morning looking forward to a yummy breakfast. We wound up leaving before we even ordered our food. I understand how difficult the pandemic has been on the restaurant industry and that many establishments have gone to great lengths to keep business going anyway they can. But not enforcing the mask order, or maintaining proper social distancing?? It's simply dangerous and not worth it. I was stunned to see that the hostess wasn't wearing a mask as she moved around the dining area seating patrons. Our family was seated and within a few minutes a party was sat at the table next to us, with some of us sitting within 2 feet of the other customers at that table. I ordered Bob's special with blueberries in the pancakes. The pancakes were huge, however, not light and fluffy. Nothing special about the batter, but lots of blueberries. The eggs were normal, and there was a lot of bacon. However, I am certain that the traveler's diarrhea I got that evening was from Bob's, since I ate nothing else. Bob's Grill is playing politics with customers lives. We ordered carryout because when we arrived there were several patrons waiting outside. After paying I noticed the host was not wearing a mask and there were other workers and patrons also not wearing masks so I told my wife let's wait outside. That's when I saw a sign on the door stating something to the effect that despite the governor's mask order anyone not wearing a mask it is assumed they have an "Honorable Exception" to the order and something about HIPPA. There's no such thing as an "Honorable Exception." It's not Honorable to endanger the lives of your fellow Americans. If I contract the COVID-19 I'll know I got it from Bob's Grill because all the other establishments I've visited this week care for their clients and aren't playing politics. read more

Our family just fell in love with Bob's. After trying to eat next door at Stack 'Em High but finding they had a 30-minute wait, we tried Bob's for breakfast and were very pleasantly surprised. Great atmosphere and top-notch service. All of the t-shirts and surfboards hanging from the ceiling gave it a fun look. The omelettes are huge and delicious, bacon perfectly crispy, biscuits fresh and flaky, and pancakes ENORMOUS! We loaded up on merch also. Then, we "got the hell out." LOL Went back for a second visit before our OBX vacation was over. If I could rate this restaurant lower than a 1, I would. This horrible rating is because of one waitress - Summer. When we arrived, the hostess was nice and accommodated our party. After sitting for 20 minutes we still didn't have an opportunity to give our drink orders. Instead we watched her continuously serve the tables around us, provide refills, and check on their dining experience. When she finally came to our table we asked could we also give our food order. She just walked off, but still continued to serve others around us. We eventually asked could she take our orders. Her response was extremely rude as she claimed they were "swamped." Crowded, yes! Swamped, No! Look at the photo. Adding insult to injury, she told the hostess to make sure we don't leave without paying and that we were the reason that she hasn't been able to work.
