    Rum Chata Boozy Shake

The food was exactly what we were looking for. I got the popcorn chicken and a rum Chata boozy shake (so so good, very boozy), and my mom got the taco fries and a burger and they were also delicious and greasy. My mom also got a boozy slushy and it was pretty sweet. The service was ok. We ordered ahead, went to pick it up about 20 min later and still had to wait there about 20 min. If it was warmer out we would've sat outside but we ended up just taking it home, there is no indoor seating.

Perfect night for some Bob's burgers!

I had a great time this weekend at Bob's burgers! My husband got the burger and Mac and cheese bites and it was delicious!! Burger was cooked to perfection and the Mac and cheese bites were AMAZING. Do not skip on these!!!! I got the 3 taco platter and it was loaded with flavor!!! You can choose between pork, beef, or chicken. The meat was incredibly tender and juicy. They now have BOOZY shakes and my favorite was the RumChata and strawberry dole whip! I loved the outdoor patio to sit and eat. Perfect place to go with friends on a warm summer night. I'll definitely be back!!

Went for ice cream tonight. Chose Bob's cause it's local. The service at first was great, and the line wasn't too long. My thing was if you order ice cream, give us the spoons at the same time. They do have a nice patio for seating. Decent place. Food is usually good. Always see lots of families there enjoying themselves.

Despite living in STL for over 30 years and having visited Kimswick many times for their various "festivals", we'd never eaten at the Blue Owl, since the place is usually packed. This morning was no different, but to our great surprise, they got us a table for 2 right away. We were seated just after 11 am, which was unfortunately too late for their breakfast menu, so lunch it was! We started with 2 cups of freshly brewed coffee . My lunch selection was a slice of their homemade chicken pot pie, freshly made crust and large bites of chicken inside, topped with a cheese covered crust. It was fresh & delicious! For a side I had a large serving of curly fries, doubt they were made in house, but they were good! My wife eats largely plant based, and ordered a quiche... she may not have read the description of it closely, but as she took her first bite, she discovered it had bacon on it. Rather than send it back, she chose to eat around the bacon. I took a couple of bites and thought it was pretty tasty as well. She had a fresh fruit cup as her side, and it was just that: fresh fruit. The Blue Owl is known for their fresh bakery and after perusing their cake/pie menu, we decided on a lightly frosted carrot cake, but at a $52 price point, we thought it was pretty pricey and instead opted for 2 take-home slices ($7 each slice) to savor later today. Maybe it's holiday pricing, or maybe carrots have been subjected to the tariffs, but $52 for a store bought ( no matter how fresh) cake seemed a bit high. All in all, a delightful experience. The food was delicious and our server was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend The Blue Owl Restaurant & Bakery in Kimswick, MO!

I'll begin with the bad: the cheese board for $17 was a huge let down. You may be able to tell from the picture that the sliced cheese was hard on the edges like it was old or hadn't been properly stored. I was shocked they'd serve serve old cheese like that when they must have noticed the hard edges while plating..on the disposable plastic plate. This felt more like something someone threw together for a work potluck than something served at a winery. My fried also ordered fried pickle chips & I had one and stopped there. The fried breading was overwhelming salty. You know you're in for a salty dish with pickles anyway, but this was next level. It made me glad we didn't order anything else from the fryer. On to the good - I actually loved the glass of dry rosé I had. I was skeptical since I haven't had a lot of Missouri wines that I've been impressed with, but this is a keeper. My two friends and I all ordered sandwiches with fries or chips and all enjoyed them and felt the serving sizes were generous. The only negative comment about the sandwiches we all shared were that they were all heavy on the sauce. My advice would be to ask for sauce/dressing on the side. We all had enough to take home leftovers. Our server was very busy but attentive considering the number of tables she was working. The inside was cute and cozy and you definitely feel the history of the building. Overall, I would come back here for a glass of rosé and a sandwich- skip the apps!
