    Vanilla milkshake
    John K.

I ordered the OTB smash burger with garlic aioli, hand cut fries and a vanilla milkshake. They served the burger and fries in separate boxes which is convenient when you want to take any leftovers home.Excellent smash burger, lots of flavor. You'll need several napkins. The fries were very good and seasoned nicely. I give the burger and fries 5's each. The vanilla milkshake I would give a 3. The consistency of the milkshake was closer to milk than a milkshake. The person making the milkshake said he doesn't normally make the milkshakes. The burger is good size and you get a lot of fries. I would give them a try. The vibe of the restaurant is casual and friendly.

Great burger and the fries are great as well. Best smash burger in St. Louis. I highly recommend this place.

This restaurant is easy to get too, has adequate parking and the restaurant itself is casual and inviting. The staff welcomed us and were very friendly and attentive. Our young waiter was especially helpful with the menu. The food came quickly and was good. Unfortunately, not great. My wife and I both got the trio of meats, brisket, pulled pork and chicken. All were cooked well but under smoked for my liking. The sides we tried were all fresh but again, just good not great. We will try Gastropit again but honestly have had better tasting barbecue at nearby competitors. I know it is relatively new to the scene so overall, it was a good experience!

Cocktails for the night featured a classic old fashion, not the one on the menu. Really well executed with Knob Creek rye. Also had a special Paloma which was tasty and perfect for a summer evening. Dinner included: - Cuban with fries. The missed orders this and she called it one of the best in town. 4.25 - small barbecue salad with pulled pork. This dish, priced at something like $8, is a nice "lightish" meal. Ordered fries because I can't help myself. Salad and fries: 4.25 each.

We got their pizza (w/ hamburger bc that's all my husband wants, lol) and then ordered a huge chef salad with delicious blue cheese dressing, and buffalo chicken sandwiches. All food was out quickly, correct, and delicious. We also ordered another pizza to go. They have a lot of steak on the menu and other entrees but we didn't want to eat a huge meal later at night after just arriving on a flight but, this is a great spot for dinner and the vibes inside are really cool. We sat beside a brick fireplace at a large round table and it was decorated with some books and interesting items. My toddler (almost 2) is super excited to be on the move and never wants to sit still so, after stuffing herself with their delicious St. Louis-style pizza, she wanted to run around. Fortunately, the room off the bar by the entrance was empty as they were prepping to close, so she ran around in there happily for about 10 minutes while my husband and stepson finished up their meal. Staff were all very friendly and interacted with her. We had a good time.

After going there, I truly don't understand the hype. We got there around 5:30 (our friends like to eat on the early side and they also thought we may not have a long wait at that time. It was packed! We were told it would be around a 30-40 minute wait. We crammed in with everyone else waiting. Fortunately we only had to wait 15 minutes. We followed a hostess through a few very crowded rooms to our table. The service was great! The food and vibe - not so great. There are too many tables crammed in there. There's very little space to walk between them. We watched servers dodging people/tables/chairs while carrying big trays of food. When seated, you're practically sitting on top of the people at the tables by you. All of that also makes it kinda loud. My husband do the haddock special. He said the flavor of the fish was okay, but that it was over cooked. I got the burger and didn't eat most of it. I pretty much assume most places can make a decent burger. It was perfectly pink in the middle. The outside was black and it was very salty. The bottom bun was so soggy, I didn't even use it. Our appetizer of jalapeño poppers was the highlight! One of our friends ordered pizza and said it was really good. The other one ordered a steak and said it was okay. I don't imagine we'll be back.

We were 11th in line when we signed up, and by the time we arrived, we had moved up to 5th. Since it was raining, we decided to wait in the car. When we reached 3rd in line, we were unexpectedly removed from the waitlist. I tried calling the phone number listed on Yelp, which was the same number displayed on the building, but it went straight to what sounded like a personal cellphone voicemail. We decided to go inside anyway and discovered the waitlist wasn't necessary because there were plenty of tables available. The menu had a lot of interesting options, although I wish it included photos of the dishes. We ordered the Hawaiian Bowl, the Truffle Burger, and what I believe was the Blueberry Jam Burger, along with regular fries and sweet potato fries. The burgers were juicy and flavorful, and each bun was stamped with the Circle 7 branded logo, which was a nice touch. The Hawaiian Bowl was delicious and generously portioned. I had enough left over for another meal. The atmosphere is definitely more of a sports bar than a traditional restaurant. Every wall seemed to have multiple TVs, making it easy to watch the soccer matches from just about anywhere in the dining room. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and checked on us several times throughout the meal. Before leaving, we couldn't decide on just one dessert, so we ordered the dessert sampler. The cobbler was the standout--it tasted homemade, especially the crust, and all of the desserts were served with ice cream. The only disappointment was the brownie, which was quite hard instead of soft and fudgy. Overall, we enjoyed the food and the service. The only downside was the confusing Yelp waitlist experience, which could definitely use some improvement.
