We went here before a show at the factory. It was perfect for a quick bite to eat. They even sold some canned beer and cocktails and had a few on draft. I'm not a regular consumer of hot dogs but decided to check this place out since they showed up on the inKind App. Well, this place was pretty good. Tried a St Louis style and their version of the Chicago style. Personally, I preferred the freshness of Chicago. St Louis was a bit too "heavy" for my tastes but I can appreciate the massive amounts of flavor. We went to Steve's Hot Dogs on Labor Day in the evening and The Hub wasn't crowded at all! We ordered our food online from our table. My husband went in to get it a few minutes before it was supposed to be ready. They finished it up and handed it to my husband who brought it directly to our table. Our food was cool. It wasn't even room temp. Our friends had ordered their food separately and theirs was also not warm, let alone hot. I did get pretzel bites with a side of cheese sauce and it was warm, but should have been warmer. We ordered from my husband's phone and he got a message asking how things were. He told them and they said sorry and gave him a $10 off coupon. We won't be using it. If everything was made to order and made fresh, how was it not even warm? This is a new location that recently opened up and I've been excited to try it. I love a good chili dog and theirs did not disappoint. The hotdog itself has a slight smokey taste to it that went well with the chili, the chili is pretty mild so if you don't like a lot of spice this is a good choice! I did the meal deal which included fries and a fountain drink, the fries were okay (just your typical crinkle cut). I'm looking forward to coming back and trying their hotdog flight! Have been dying to swing by Steve's hotdogs for a while now. For context my dad's name is Steve and I love hot dogs so my excitement was understandable. The quickness of ordering and receiving the Mac and cheese hot dog was excellent and the staff were super nice. We decided to go to Steve hotdogs on its opening day. It was a little busy, but it didn't take long to get our food at all. We ended up trying a few different types of hotdogs. The Hawaii 5-0 was my favorite. It was very different. Toppings I never would think to put on a hotdog. I love the design of the restaurant it is very cute. It has a decent amount of seating but there is tons outside. I do wish the Chicago dog was served on a poppyseed bun. I also wish there was an option for a turkey dog, that would be different. Pretty good. I'd been to the old location on the Hill years ago, and am glad I tried out the spot at the Hub. Nice mix of specialty dog options, so you don't have to try to invent your own. My Good Charlotte dog had chili and some slaw. The dog itself it quite good, IMO. A Nathan's dog that has been smoked, so good flavor. The bun is a bit different, lightly toasted on the interior. Helps it hold up to the toppings, but I'd probably prefer a soft bun. But then, if it got soggy from the toppings.... A bit more slaw would have helped. What I had got lost fighting the mustard and chili for a flavor profile. But overall a pretty good dog. The wife like her Very Very Veggie dog, too. She said the "dog" was good; you could still tell it wasn't a beef hot dog, but had no 'beef' with that. It seemed like a Chicago dog without sport peppers to her. We wee both pleasantly surprised by our basket of fries. They are crinkle cut fries, and a generous basket for $5. I assume they simply come frozen in a bag and are fried, but the wife thought they tasted like they might have been brined. Regardless, they had a good potato flavor with crispy outer and pillowy interior. The salting was generous, but not overly so. I do like that. I don't like when my fries have little to no salt. Great toppings on the hot dogs, but as a Chicago native, this wasn't a true Chicago style hot dog with pickle & hot peppers on top, but still, very good & filling. You place your order at the counter, find a place to sit and they bring your food to you. Maybe 15-20 tables inside, nice & clean. Ketchup & mustard condiments at the soft drink station. My daughter wanted cheese for her fries, had to ask for it, but gave her a small cup for free. No ice tea, but soft drinks were Lucky brand, I think. Our hot dogs where definitely not worth the price! All 4 dogs where dried out (overcooked) and the fries where not even warm.
