We ordered there and it did take a bit as promised, but to be served hot and fresh fried chicken was worth the wait. And it was that. My guess is that the chicken had never been frozen, was juicy and tasty. The crust was not thick but well seasoned and when coupled with the crisp skin, was very good. My only beef were the sides. I did see that one reviewer called them afterthoughts and that may be a little harsh but they were disappointing. We didn't try them all but the potatoes were instant and the green beans were from a can. Maybe the other sides are better. We did have fried okra and hushpuppies as extras and even though probably from frozen, they were pretty good. I'm an old Southern boy, growing up on friend chicken and a host of freshly cooked sides that complement the main event. I guess you have to experience those killer family meals to know what sides should be like. And I have, but as to the Chicken Coop, I will go back, try different sides but the folks there really need to get in the game with some killer dishes. I know it would take a little effort but given the good quality of the chicken, seems like it would only enhance the experience. As to the facility, it is a reclaimed Taco Bell and showing its age.
