I would give 5 stars but I dropped my car off at 7:30 AM, and when I went back in the afternoon they still did not have the job done. Crackhead. Never, ever will anyone have to deal with what comes with a crackhead. That's why today is a good day, Bob had a Police escort and his company is closed. He's hurt seven different families. I drove my vehicle in, and towed it out with escort, eight month later. I watched them drop my vehicle from three feet off the ground and heard metal hit like you never want to hear. So now there's the suspension to add to it. This vehicle was a life, long dream that I paid a lot for. The mental stress, of listening to all his personal garbage was over the top horrible. I had a tire go flat from a screw in the Columbia Center area parking lot and took it to a nearby Firestone however they were unable to fix the flat. Bob and team to the rescue..! I spoke with Bob on the phone and made sure he had the tire I needed and he had it pulled out and ready before I got there. A short wait and I was on the road again ready for the next road trip to the Oregon coast(camping). Thanks for the awesome service and friendly atmosphere. I went through 2 other tire shops before I found Bob's Automotive. Had 1 tire with side wall damage and needed to replace it soon as was leaving out of town in a few days. I called and shared the numbers from the side of the tire. Bob checked and had several in stock. I scheduled an appointment for later that day and had it home before 530pm. What surprised me the most was the pricing, the way they source their tires I didn't have to pay top dollar for foreign-made run-of-the-mill tires. I've used Bob's shop twice, a few years apart and boy did those years make a difference! After this last experience, I've gone to recommending them to everyone to crossing over to the side of reviews WARNING TO RUN, NOT WALK, AWAY! First, I asked Bob for a payment plan, as I had another car needing a huge repair. Bob agreed to half up front then half in 30 days. The shop was very busy though so I would need to wait to get my car in. No problem. In the meantime I find out my other car can't be fixed cost effectively, so I let Bob know approximately how much I have for: new tires, brakes, rotors, and what I thought was a new coil, as that is what had needed replaced before and what they had told me to expect to replace soon (different #). They postpone my car again because Bob needs surgery, so I get my tires on-line after looking at Consumer Reports recommendation and they have Bob's listed as an approved installer. Finally, after they have my car for 2 weeks (I was told to expect 2 days), and being told it isn't my coil and they have run a bunch of tests I didn't approve, added parts I didn't approve, that I had a bad cylinder and needed a new engine, but he had someone who would give my $1000 for my car but only that much because the seats were tore up! Also, it's too bad they did all that work just to find out the engine is bad. Oh- the back calipers needed replaced too. So, I have a car with new tires, brakes, rotors, calipers and a battery but a bad engine because the mechanic saved the engine, which I did mention, for last. I go to pick up my car after 2 weeks and having to spend money on rentals, and taxis, etc. and suddenly Bob doesn't remember the deal of half up front, half in 30 days. I beg him to at least let me pay half then and take my daughter to her doctor appointment it took 6 months to get into. Nope. All or nothing. Now, he knows from past experience that I'm a person of my word, because I had to do a payment plan last time. Somehow, because he had been getting screwed over by OTHER people recently, he finds it okay to start questioning my moral character! During this 2 weeks, Bob was on any assortment of pain meds etc. and doesn't remember any of our conversations or agreements (thank God for texting) and then wants to know what happened to the money I said I had for all these repairs... which his bill, SURPRISE, is almost exactly equal to. I had to remind him several times that amount was before the tires and before I had to find alternate transportation for the 2 weeks, not 2 days he had my vehicle. He also sent me a text of the invoice and literally right below it was a message from him saying that some of the posts on the invoice were not actually in my car. However, when I went to get my car, he still expected me to pay for those parts and the labor for putting them in! The best part? Whoever he was showing my car off to, trying to sell it...I STILL would have owed Bob's Automotive money but that guy would have been able to just drive off with my car! In the end, I had to go get a loan to pay for all the repairs because despite me having the messages, there was nothing I could do. I had to cancel my daughter's appointment and reschedule for another 4 months out. I do plan on taking this to civil court for the hundreds of dollars in unapproved tests, labor, parts, and especially the parts he charged me for and then told me weren't even installed after all! I guess the cherry on top is when he attempted to strong arm me and while I'm at the bank he send me a message to "bring cash." Ummm, no. I'm leaving a paper trail like no other! He wants to cook his books, that's on him but I have the invoice and the receipt and my card statement, thank you. Now for a new, HONEST mechanic! read more

A few weeks ago Bob's Automotive and Towing (5097354800) saved my life! They were able to diagnose and order parts within hours of dropping off the vehicle on my way from SLC to Seattle. After finding several more issues including a busted rear diff, axels, seals, and tires they were able to take care of me for the same initial quote of just the clutch/fly-wheel! They called me throughout the process updating me and even came into the shop on a Sunday to get me the car back. Cannot recommend these guys enough. One of the main mechanics was very well versed in Subaru's which proved essential. read more

CROOKED LIARS! Do not deal with Bob or anything having to do with his place! He is a liar and so is the blonde who works for him! We were given a price on a vehicle, went to get our financing and came back....only to be told that the vehicle now needed some work and it'd be over a week until he got around to it. We gave Bob over a week to figure it out and were then told that he raised the price on the vehicle! VERY shady, crooked place!! Should have known from the VERY unprofessional appearance of the office and lot. This is all very sad considering he has Bible scripture plastered all over his business. I went to Bob's for some decent tires used or new I needed to replace all 4. He said he was giving me a 'great deal' on new tires for the front. They were cheap made in china or japan junk. After a few months, they started cracking along the side walls. Less than a year later they cracked and split the seams across the top corners so badly you could start to see the belt. I am lucky I didn't have a blow out. He knew exactly what he was selling, saw that I was a woman there alone, and totally ripped me off. Do not go there. read more

I seriously cannot say enough good about this place or about Bob! He was awesome and exactly everything to love in a mechanic. I was in town visiting my parents and my car was having trouble with the engine. Bob worked on it Saturday past when he is normally open to get my car running well so I could get home to Pullman Sunday. Impressed with his quality, work, and knowledge. He is priced very fair/competitive and I was impressed with how much he explained and showed me. If I was local I would defiantly use him as my mechanic! Great honest family company! This place is notorious for selling damaged/worn tires. If you choose to buy tires from here, have them inspected immediately and keep your receipt. If you look at their reviews on Facebook, it's funny how negative reviews are deleted on there, hence the lower rating, with only the *5 star* reviews left before the rating system was turned off. If I could give zero stars I would. This business is dishonest, crooked and less then inexperienced people working there. I doubt there is an actual mechanic who works there. One of the local auto parts store states they refuse to do business with them so that tells you what type of business Bob runs! Bob himself couldn't answer questions about what was done to my vehicle when I picked it up. What work was done is beyond questionable and the guys that work for him are obviously not knowledgable on vehicle mechanics! DON'T take your vehicle here unless you want more problems!! read more

Don't let their religious front fool you. Make sure you get a written quote BEFORE starting repairs. I was quoted $90 to replace a belt, then they tell me they have to add more labor to clean up the rotor parts [+$35] that the belt goes on plus the cost of the new belt. Grand total $203! A $113 over what I originally was being quoted. Definitely NOT satisfied with their customer service. read more

We were travelling through and our battery just died. We had a long trip ahead of us and we pulled in to Bob's. We were in and out within an hour with a brand new Delco battery that he had delivered to the shop quickly. They were attentive, hospitable and thorough.... not things you normally here about a auto shop. If I lived in the area this is where I would go. However, since we don't we will have it on our road map as the place to go when we need to in Kennewick, WA. There is much more I could say because they treated us so well, but I will just encourage you to give them a try. They were hardworking and honest! read more

I wouldn't recommend going to Bob's to anyone. Dropped the car off in the morning and got an estimate in writing. He said it would be done that afternoon. Four days later after calling and stopping by he finally had it done but charged twice as much as he originally said and now my car is leaking oil bad when previously had no leaks. Also I always write the mileage down before leaving my vehicle anywhere and there was almost 200 more miles on it. When I asked him about it he stuttered and didn't want to talk to me anymore. I asked who worked on it and he wasn't even sure. I will never bring any vehicle there again and I wouldn't recommend anyone else either. read more
