We have gone here many times but yesterday the Husb made our drink it was wrong I spoke up He was so rude. I said we ordered banana, choc received strawberry he shook his head. We love this place! Our favorite place to go when we are craving something a little sweet. My go to is a strawberry smoothie with boba and my husband usually gets the chocolate banana smoothie with boba. I'm sure anything that you get is a great choice, though! Two stars because the Boba is great however the service sucks! I go in and sit down, since I was waiting on my friend to arrive to order together. I'm sitting in the lobby, not even for five minutes... the owner comes out and looks at me and says "you have to order something." I say "I am, I am waiting on a friend", then he points to a sign in his lobby reading, "No Loitering". I look at him and say, "I am not loitering, I haven't even been here for five minutes". It really pissed me off because I used to go there like three times a week before school. And I go in there one day and sit down to wait for someone and he comes at me with that? I have been coming to this place for years especially when I was working in the area. I recently revisited the place to study for a couple hours before a very important exam in a nearby testing center. Environment is quiet with a steady flow of customers. I have always ordered my usual taro slush with boba. The boba is always perfectly chewy. I was tempted to try a waffle to calm my nerves, but thought it might up my sugar level which would not have been good. I will definitely return at some point to try the waffle and maybe experiment with a few drinks. The customer service is always friendly as culturally acceptable. This place is owned and operated by first generation Asians, so please excuse that they are not overly bubbly as expected in American culture. For me, as long as the product meets my expectations and there is no overt rudeness, I am game! A suggestion would be to offer plant-based milk for the smoothies and slushies as well as a low sugar option for drinks and this place will be even more awesome! read more

Horrible customer service, as a owner you would think they would approach you nice about leaving. Not this place the guy(Asian) that is making the drinks was rude. He said from across the room "we are wrapping it up because we are closing" and he made a had gesture like telling us to go already. Total lack of customer service! I wanted to give them a second chance, by going there a second time to try another flavor, but super distasteful and dissatisfied. Going back to their lack of customer service: employees/owners just wanted to do their job and get rid of the customer; neither genuine interest nor concern for customer's needs. My two boys and I ordered 3 drinks. My younger son dropped his on accident and made a mess. I stood by the spill to make sure no customers stepped in it and I was going to assist in cleaning up my son's mess. I felt bad of course. The owner, a stupid Asian lady, came over to me and told me that she would pick it up. 10 minutes passed and they had not replaced my son's drink. He went and asked the owner if he could get another one and she rudely said no because it was his fault for dropping it. I got up and asked her to please give him another one and she said it is the owners discretion whether they replace it or not and that she was not going to replace it. I told her it was an honest accident. She still said no because I did not say "sorry" and didnt clean it. I told her I was there to help but the first thing that came out of her mouth was that she would clean it. By now I was MAD. I said so if I would have said sorry you would have given me another one? She said yes but since I didn't she will not replace it. told her that now I understand why so many people leave horrible YELP reviews about her. She said she didn't care. By now we are both yelling at each other. She proceeded to say it took her a long time to clean up because of me and that she was not there to pick up my mess. I went and got my boys and told them we were leaving. She was still rambling about picking up after us as we walked out. The almond milk tea was very flavorful, they did not over rely on sweetness or leave it bland like other almond milk teas at other boba shops. The boba was the right firm/soft ratio. Would return, although not a lot of exciting boba flavors... wouldn't mind seeing something with coffee or chocolate (chocolate winter melon is amazing) in future. Comparing to the amazing boba shops in San Diego, the flavor and quality is there, but I would consider saying 3/4 sweetness and double boba. I ran out of boba halfway through my regular sized drink and it got too sweet for me about halfway through as well. read more

Really disappointed in the boba here. I guess Riverside isn't a place to go for quality boba. The jasmine milk tea was bitter, not sweet and they don't even have black milk tea! There are definitely better boba places than this one. However the slushies are good, like the strawberry and mango slushes. The quality of the boba is not that good if you have had other boba like Half n Half Teahouse, Class 302, or other boba places in Cerritos, northern California and/or the Los Angeles area. Good Boba's but I am disappointed with the service/company. I got a boba the other day and said no ice in it since I had a cold. The guy charged me an extra dollar for no ice. I asked why and he said, " the computer automatically does it because you get more tea." That is just crazy. I didn't ask for a bigger cup. Good little boba place to go with many variety. They have Korean BingSoo (shaved ice with fruits) which is excellent (you can ask them to put some boba if you like). Sometimes, it isn't quite as good as the very first shop (franchise) back in Los Angeles but as close as it can get. read more

It's been HOT lately and everytime I'm down in Riverside I find myself craving an ice cold slush with boba. Bobaloca is small, clean, not crowded and in a weird spot. In fact, I always end up going to Lolicup (the boba at Lolicup I think is much better) but since Lolicup stopped selling waffles a while ago I may start going here and ordering a slush without the boba. I found the boba to be not so sweet or tasty and it hardened up pretty quickly. The waffles on the other hand taste great and are cooked to perfection. They taste like the Mickey waffles I love at Disneyland. They're a bit pricey but when I walked in yesterday I was hit with that fresh waffle smell and immediately wanted one so I got a waffle with fresh fruit (bananas, kiwi and strawberry) and ice cream, although I could've done without the ice cream. Definitely have to remember to come here more often since it's closer than Lolicup and they have waffles! read more
