We shared the waffle ** Milk Tea: The red bean was shaken up, did not have any whole red beans in the drink (which is what I'm used to but it's fine), and it was perfectly sweetened. I've had a handful of bad experiences with my red bean milk teas being on the sweet side but this place happened to make the perfect adjustments. All the other reviews for this shop mentioning their boba/pearls are spot on: you should get them! They come with the drink with no additional charge if you just ask, and they're soft yet chewy. They were a tiny bit smaller than other pearls I've had but I think that's what makes it more enjoyable! Waffle: It came with vanilla ice cream (you can get froyo if you want!), kiwi, bananas, strawberries, chocolate syrup, and sliced almonds. The waffle itself was dense but not to the point where it was gross and not crispy. I would get it again if I was in the area, and the price ($5.99) was alright considering how much was topped on. I had to share this with my cousin and we were both trying to get each other to eat the last bites.** AMBIENCE: Pretty quiet yet spacious location. Walking in this place was not the cleanest and the menu was too big for their own good, they were also overpriced for their bland taste. Not to mention that the boba itself was not good, which is surprising because this place is literally called BOBAloca, you'd think it'd be good but it tasted old and the texture was off. There was an order sitting behind the counter since before I ordered, then after 15 minutes of waiting the man (which I assume is the owner) handed me one of the old drinks that someone obviously didn't show up for. The ice was already melted and the drink was watered down and flavorless. I told him it had been sitting there for a long time and I didn't want to take it, but he shoved it in front of me, blew me off and moved on to the next customer. Lifesaver after a bad lunch! This boba Loca is an oasis...meaning there is nothing else around. Beggars can't be choosers when given the option of only regular iced tap water when you really want sparkling water from the French Alps!. By far the worst boba experience in Riverside. First off, the owner (I believe she's the owner because she referred to the drinks as "HER milk tea") is downright RUDE. I asked if I could have a taro milk tea with no added sweetener, and she replies: "No, you haven't had MY taro milk tea. It's not sweet, just have it regular." Same when I asked for regular house milk tea. And guess what, IT IS SUPER SWEET! My husband and I couldn't even finish our drinks because I felt like I was shooting sugar up my veins. Seriously, you refuse to customize your boba drinks for your customers who typically don't like sweet drinks? Do yourself a favor and make the 7 minute drive down to University Village and go to ANY of the boba shops there. I recommend Lollicup or Ten Ren's. I only come here for the boba drinks here. It's awesome that wanting more boba is free. The drinks here are a hit or miss here. Some days the drink will be on point and freaking bomb, and there are days where it's like WTF! The drinks sometimes taste too watered down. Sometimes when the boba is not cooked to well, like one day it's super chewy and another day when it's like super NOT chewy. I LOVE this boba! It is so hard to find good boba in Riverside (unless you're by the University). I live in Menifee/Murrieta area so this is quite a drive out just to get boba. But it's worth it. The drink described in Lynnie P.'s review sounded so good, I had to give it a try for myself. Got there pretty late on a Saturday night (a few minutes before closing) and was warmly greeted by what seemed like the owner. Looked like she was making the drinks, while her one employee manned the register. Asked for a large half taro milk tea/half regular milk tea, and they were happy to oblige even though it isn't a regular menu drink. Service was quick, and the drink was amazing! One of my favorite boba drinks by far. I will definitely be back again for more! My only complaints are that they close fairly early (9 pm Monday-Saturday and 8 pm on Sundays), and there is a 45 cent transaction charge for all credit/debit cards. Well, first of all, I loved this place. The drinks/food etc. is amazing and tastes so good, I could practically eat it everyday. I go there all the time as a treat, but I recently went and had a bad experience. I waited over 20 minutes for 2 simple drinks. OVER 20 MINUTES. They weren't even that busy customer wise. They had made one of my drinks and took FOREVER to make the second one. They left my drink out for 15 minutes and then finally decided to put it in the freezer; but it was too late. After sushi at Sushi station, we decided to check this place out for dessert. My hubby got the honey dew slush and he says its 4 stars. I tasted it and its sweet...but I'm not a fruity slush kind of gal. I ordered a chai tea latte, but they only had 2% milk, no non fat milk. I decided to live on the edge and go for it. The chai tea latte was not as spicy as the ones I order at starbucks and it tasted almost like a caramel latte. Surprisingly, I finished it and was satisfied.
