My first impressions? Drinks are a bit pricey compared to the Quickly in the same plaza. However they do really good smoothies and frappes. The boba tasted kind of plain like they don't sweeten it but the drinks are sweeter than I'm used to so it balances out. The cafe is very spacious with outlets and games for hanging out. The workers were very sweet too. I wish they would stay open later like Quickly! read more

I've recently become a regular here. As it always is in Concord, it was hot af and needed my daily dose of their classic milk tea with boba. I noticed there were only two people working today, and it was ridiculously busy! I believe the girl that helped me is Jackie? She politely greeted me and took my order. I think I waited about 15-20 minutes for my drink but when I finally got it, the other guy working (I think I heard his name was Brandon) apologized for the long wait and wished me a nice day! I got the mocha frapp with boba. I liked it, besides the fact that their boba is tiny lol it's not fat and round like other places. One sip was filled with 5-6 boba pieces. Very poor customer service here!!! I'll bring my business somewhere else. Run!! The smoothie I ordered slipped off my hand and splattered all over. They wouldn't even replace the order?! What?! For a mere $5 this business would forego having loyal customers rather than replace the drink?? The guy at the counter just said it's NOT my fault. LOL!! Monkey business. Although there aren't as many choices and flavors as Quicklys, which is on the other side of the plaza, the quality of the milk tea in Boba Loca is so much better. There's not that powdery residue left over like at Quicklys. However, if there were more options of snacks (*ahem CALAMARI!*), I would think I retire my love of quicklys and remain faithful to Boba Loca. I wanted to give this place a try since it was new to the neighborhood. Menu was pretty simple versus tapioca express. Although I do like variety. I loved the atmosphere and the variety of games left out to play. I ordered a drink and it was ready within minutes. I was ready to grab my drink and BOOM! The cup was very flimsy! WHAT A TOTAL FAIL! One star is giving too much credit. I have tried this place multiple times in hopes I will have a better experience and each time gets worse than the last. Aside from the fact that they always close earlier than their hours of operation, they seem agitated to provide service. Most small businesses will go out of their way when you visit 15min before closing, but not here! They will just tell you they're closed through the glass door as they lock it. I also asked for ice or a dollop of whip cream when the drink they made was beyond scalding. I love small locally owned business but I will never come back! Over priced and rude af. Honestly, I am not a big fan of this place. Their original milk tea is way too sweet. The taste reminds me of the the milk teas from Tapioca Express. Also, their fruit teas taste like syrup. It's a bad idea to come on a hot day because they do not have AC. You will be sweating buckets while you wait for them to make you drink. read more

Ordered a Sesame Slush w/ tapioca, and it was the Worst tasting boba drink I've ever ever tasted!!! Do not order this! The whole time I was thinking that it'd taste like those sweet black sesame rice balls, but no the flavor was just completely off. I don't know if it was too much powder or sweetener or what, but it was so bad that it left a nasty alcoholic aftertaste. But it gets even worst! This place was alright. Not terrible, not amazing. I got the lychee milk tea with boba. The regular size is smaller than regulars at other boba places and the amount of boba was just right for the size. Although, even though I shook up my drink before poking the straw through, I got a mouthful of flavored powder...not sure what that's about. Lol The service was alright. Nothing to write home about. Split review on this - good boba tea - unfriendly service. I've been wanting to try this place and this was the perfect time. It is a large open space for people to hang out (like all boba tea places). There were games on the tables and a good sized offering. Now - I was happy with my Lychee Stawberry smoothie. I wasn't happy about the staff being so stiff and unresponsive. He gave off this vibe of not wanting to be there, but also not wanting to help. No enthusiasm. I do recognize if people are tired and at the end of they day want to go home. BUT THERE WAS NOBODY ELSE THERE. This place is the best! My boyfriend got the spiced chai and I got the jasmine milk tea - so good! We made sure to also get a crepe with strawberry, bananas, Nutella and and vanilla ice cream (little pricey but worth it). There's not much to rave about except the fact that their tea was good, boba was a good consistency and they had games for the customers. I kicked my friends ass in checkers but he then tore me a new one in connect four. I'd felt so defeated until he told me that he grew up as an only child playing it by himself so he basically got to study the game. Came here yesterday after work as I was craving a Thai tea. It's a small location but super clean!!! They have a few tables with chairs inside. They also have a bunch on games like jenga and a fooseball table. They are very reasonably priced. It was less than $5 for a large Thai tea with boba and grass jelly. There was no line when I came in so I was in and out within five minutes. I'm excited to come back to try some of their smoothies and milkshakes when the weather warms up a little. Too expensive for no good reason! One 16 oz milk tea, even without boba, costs $3.49 plus tax. They also added so much ice that I felt kinda gipped. The milk tea itself tasted better than Quickly's in my opinion. It's *lighter* - as in, maybe less creamer? Not sure. I think it was a little sweeter though. The place had been opened for a few weeks, but the orange colored walls were still bare. They should really do something about that to make it look more cozy and inviting. In any case, it gets only 2 stars because we're in the friggin' Bay Area. Milk tea and boba shouldn't cost this much! Notice they just open up and found out it was a boba place. So instead I went here and tried it out rather than going to Quicklys which was a couple stores at the end of the street. It's pretty spacious. Have a foosball table next to the entrance and a few tables scattered around. Ordered my drink (milk tea with tapioca balls) and looked at the menu while they were making it. Pretty much the same thing what they have at any boba place. Not sure about the quality of the food. But when I got my drink, it was okay. Seemed like the tapioca balls was a bit hard than what I experienced. Need to cook them more to make them more softer and squishy. Flavor of the tea was okay. Same taste, but had more better quality of flavor. I know it's new and will improve over time. read more

Great place for boba! They really have an extensive menu here. All types of boba drinks...smoothies, teas, fraps, etc. Too many for me to read on our first visit, a lot of the choices sounded so good. It's always hard for me to not get a milk tea when I first come to a new place. So I got a plain old, OG milk tea with boba (I know, so boring) and my husband got a coffee frap boba. We really liked both! The texture of the boba was spot on. They also have shave ice here too. I may just be a shave ice snob but it's hard for me to like many shave ice establishments. For me, the way the ice is shaved matters! It has to be soft and fluffy and not small pieces of ice. Unfortunately, the ice machine at this place makes small pieces of ice. The only drawback was that the stripmall which this store is located in was pretty busy and we circled around a few times. The place is nice and clean. The service was great! Ordered the rose black tea with boba, regular size, 50% sweet. I like a drink with a strong tea flavor. The tea flavor was definitely there. But not as strong as I would like. Not a big deal for me. The tapioca itself had a nice texture flavor. Chewy but not too chewy. It was slightly sweet. I would come here again if I was ever in the area. Came here for a dessert with a few friends. My friends and I had ordered a crepe and boba drinks. The drinks were good but the crepes were not prepared as the one shown in the advertised picture. This is one of those places that does the classics well but other drinks can be either a hit or miss. Some of their drinks are wayyy too sweet but, considering the palette they have to cater to, I suppose I understand. I'd recommend the traditionally less sweet drinks such as Hong Kong Black Milk Tea. On the plus side, their service is always great as the people are friendly and they fulfill orders quickly. I do have a problem with the interior aesthetics...whoever worked on the layout did not do a very good job. There is a clear misuse of space and it gives the shop an unfinished feel. I understand that they were given an awkward floor plan to work with but it's the layout designers job to make sure I don't notice the awkwardness of the floor plan. I wish they would reconsider their placement to make the interior more inviting. read more

This place is DELICIOUS. My favorite thing to get is the Thai Iced Tea with ice and no boba, but my fiancé gets the one with boba and no ice and it is equally delicious. We come here like every week and we are SO happy there is finally a good boba place in Concord. Quckly got nothing on this place. They have a little customer loyalty program and every 12 visits you get a free drink- we love that. Beware of the long lines... especially on weekends. Are you guys kidding me? 5 min wait in line, and 15-20 min wait for freaking 2 simple classic milk tea drinks? On top of that, they didnt even tell me that i had to wait because they still had to actually cook the tapioca balls. If they wouldve told me, i wouldnt have ordered it. I got to my car, tasted the drink, the boba was chewy, probably wasnt even cooked all the way. Service was shit, no awareness, yes that one person said sorry about the wait, so how will that make up for my time wasted. I couldve just went to quicklys as my usual spot. There are now two boba shops in this shopping center: Bobaloca and Quickly. I've been going to Quickly for a while, but this place totally beats it. So far I've had the Oreo Chocolate milk shake, Taro slush, and Watermelon slush. All of them were much better that Quickly. They just had more flavor. In general, this is the best boba place that I've been to around the Concord/Pleasant Hill area. It says that there's no wifi, but there is. They have a nice atmosphere. They have games (which lacked some pieces for some reason). They even have a foosball table. read more

Used to be our favorite place to come for boba-bubble-tapioca drinks. Great when they first opened. Not sure if business isn't going so well or what, since Sharetea opened up a couple of blocks away.
