TLDR; great service, great milk tea, great boba! I thought I left a review for this place! Better late than never. I can't decide whether the drinks or the service is better. It doesn't matter if there's 100 customers or if I'm the only one, I've only had the absolute best service here. Sometimes I order online, sometimes I use the tablet, sometimes I order with an actual person. Regardless of what I order, when I go, or who I order with, I always leave happy. I've never stayed to hang out, but they sell merch and there's several tables and it's cute inside. They can get really busy after lunch or dinner but the online ordering service saves the day in those situations. I've had the milk tea and the fruit teas and they're always made exactly as customized as I order them. And I'm one of those annoying people that customize every little thing, so thank goodness for the staff here. There's plenty of boba shops in the area but we often stop here when we want our fix because it's one of the best! I almost forgot- last but definitely not least. There's a customer rewards program that you can sign up for. If you go often, it's worthwhile because I've earned myself a free drink or two before. read more

Been here several times and usually get the matcha strawberry milk but decided to get the fresh strawberry milk. I love these two drinks, and add lychee jelly instead of boba. The drinks are super refreshing, sweet, and the strawberry flavor is great! You can adjust the sweetness level and milk type when you order too. Sad disappointment of boba unfortunately. It's rare that I'm reviewing a place while I'm still in the place, but here we are. Got a lychee green tea as well as a hot taro milk tea. What disappointments. It's not even about the sugar level, it's the tea that's the issue to me. The taro milk tea does not taste like how it should. Can't taste the taro. It tastes like Jasmine milk tea. The lychee green tea, can't taste lychee, and can't even taste the green tea. It tastes like water to me. Really weak. I even bumped up the sugar from 25 to 50%. I don't want sugar water, I want tea. $6.50 for this lychee green tea was not worth it, and $5 for the taro milk tea with no topping was definitely not worth it. $11.64 down the drain. Unfortunately I feel that this place cannot even redeem itself. If they were to offer me 2 free drinks to give them another chance, I don't think they could convince me to change my opinion. Unless they somehow make their tea flavor stronger. Just my opinion of course. I even got with no ice so that it's not diluted. The reason why this gets 2 stars instead of 1 is because the logo is cool, and customer service is nice, along with making our drinks really quickly. I went from 25 to 50 to 100% sugar and they added more lychee flavor no problem. This made the lychee more pronounced in flavor, but not the tea. Not the workers fault, it's just the intensity of the tea made here. I just wish it tasted better. The boba is lackluster, tasteless, and tastes like a waste of calories. I tried this place about 2 weeks ago and every time I go, it's a bad experience and bad smoothie. I've been about three times and it's the same thing every time. I went today and ordered a strawberry smoothie with rainbow jelly and strawberry popping boba. The first smoothie I received had too much milk in it. It tasted like frozen milk with boba. I watched her make the smoothie and when she got done blending it, she took the milk and poured about 4oz into the already blended smoothie...and then blended it again. I was confused but I said to myself, maybe it was too thick. She gave it to me and I walked out of the establishment, got in the car, tried the smoothie, and it was terrible. I brought it back to her and stated it tasted like frozen milk. She asked did I want it sweeter...I said yeah, I guess. She took the left over smoothie from the first one that she made for me, added strawberries, ice and MORE milk then blended it. She let me try it in a mini cup and I stated it was fine but still was taken aback at how she "remade" the smoothie...she handed me the smoothie and stated it would be thick. Which would be fine because nobody wants a watery, liquid-y smoothie. As I'm on my way to where I need to go, I am wondering why are there literal chunks of ice and frozen strawberries in my smoothie...and STILL milky tasting. I tried to call the store to speak with the manager, I'm not sure if the girl who made my smoothie answered or the actual manager answered. I asked for the manager and she said yes, how can I help you. I started explaining what was wrong and then I heard hold music............then I heard a "hello!" I said hello? She said oh you were breaking up. So I sat there for a second like ?¿ What? I hung up the phone and decided that I was going to just let it be and will call to speak to a manager another day. Happy to see Boba Republic's second location. I finally made it out there to check it out. I went during a pop up with Mac and Cream for some macarons! The interior is really cute and simple. It's in a great location with many food options nearby-good spot for an after dinner dessert! I ordered the winter melon milk tea with egg pudding. The menu may be quite different from your typical boba places. We tried the ice cream black tea and signature milk tea. The black tea was nothing fancy like its name. It tasted like extra sweet black tea. The signature milk tea tasted like a watered down grain drink. It tasted nothing like the regular milk teas that you would expect. My main complaint is how watery it tasted. There was only one person in the front taking orders and making the drinks and I'm not sure if there was anyone in the back at the time I was there (weekday lunch time). I got the Boba Republic Milk Tea and the Black Milk Tea. The Boba Republic Milk Tea had a little stronger tea flavor than the Black Milk Tea but they both were pretty bland. The boba was also a little hard and chewy and lacked the sweetness flavor. I'm going to pass on Boba Republic for now... I'll probably give it a try down the road or go to the other location to see if there's a difference. Maybe they were having an "off" day.... I appreciate that I don't have to drive as far for boba now that Boba Republic is open in the legacy area. Boba republic consistently cranks out great drinks, good sweetness level, perfectly chewy boba and strong tea flavor. This time I got a thai tea and being able to adjust the sweetness to 50% was perfect. Well spiced, strong tea profile, not too sweet, prompt service. What's not to like? But in all fairness, I think all their drinks are great, so you can't really go wrong. I am pretty familiar with Boba Republic, and I've never had problems with their drinks and/or service. Every time that I have visited this location, I've noticed that I never see the same worker(s). It's almost always changing, and that may explain the poor service that I received as of today. Walking in, there were four high school students working behind the counter, which is never an issue. An employee took our order and all of them started working on our drinks. Upon receiving our drinks, we noticed that they gave us one large and one medium drink when we had asked for two larges. We had to flag one of the employee's attention as they were all having a conversation. One of the employees took the drink back, and told the other to pour the medium sized drink into a large cup and to add more boba and ice. We were standing across the counter as this was happening, listening to everything they were saying. At the same time, they should have noticed the "easy ice" on the sticker, and they paid no attention to it. Not to mention, "easy ice" is an additional charge of 0.25. When we received the drink, we brought up the fact that we ordered "easy ice" and the employee turns around and says, "I told you so!" They remake the drink, and give us both drinks (the mistake and newly made one). In retrospect, if they had just remade the drink as normal employees would do, then we wouldn't have any complaints. All employees should undergo training again. Very disappointed with this experience, and we will not be coming back to this business. read more
