Signature milk tea with boba and passionfruit green tea with jelly - April 2026

Greeted upon arrival midday and staff were very friendly. Ordered two drinks and the store was clean with indoor and outdoor seating (wasn't too busy). I got the signature milk tea with boba and a passionfruit green tea both 50% sweet and felt they adjusted it correctly. Music playlist inside was great while we waited, parking in the lot was easy. Prices were fair, would come back thanks!

Nestled in the back corner of Mission Gorge is this little gem. Good pricing. Tasty Drinks and treats. Service was good but my gf who does not drink caffeine was asking about the menu and they assured her that her drink didn't have caffeine and that the menu print must be wrong. When we went home we double checked and it sure did have caffeine. We should have checked that but we were trusting of the workers. But that doesn't take away from the good service they still provided and the drinks again were made great! Just miss communication. Place is very clean and well lit once inside. We will be back!

I have been looking for somewhere that sells spicy popcorn chicken as my go-to place raised the prices and reduced the portion. So, I decided to come over and try the popcorn chicken. Since my son was with me and didn't want chicken I ordered him an Oreo bubble waffle. First of all, the employees seemed very nice. I had no issues ordering. The store was very clean. They told me it would be a 20 minute wait for the waffle since the machine needed to heat up, I told them that was not an issue and we would wait. After about 25 minutes, they bagged my orders of popcorn chicken and the waffle and tied the bag close. I walked out to my car and decided to open the bag to get my son his waffle. Well, this thing was beyond burnt. It was charred completely. I tasted one piece to make sure it wasn't just oreo giving off that color and, nope, it was burnt and each piece was hard and brittle. There was nothing reminiscent of a soft bubbly waffle. I took it back in and told the girl this was beyond burnt and she told me "yeah the machine was really smoking and it burnt it". I told her how come you just put it in a bag hoping I wouldn't notice, that is not okay. She offered me a cash refund for the amount, but did not give me the amount of the tax back. I asked again why they thought that was okay to serve that to me and not tell me and she just said sorry. I really wanted to like this place and the chicken is decent, but wow, I am surprised at the terrible service and lack of care.

This drink is really delicious and sweet is which is what I like and strawberry flavored. Can't imagine having this now. I'm gonna go back a lot for this drink very friendly and customer oriented. The ambience was nice. Light lighting was really good and easy to read the menu. Very friendly staff. Now I'm back again.

Tiny little boba shop tucked away near the Walgreens and glasses place. It's cute with only a few tables. Prices are moderate, service was moderate. Rose milk tea with boba was not too sweet. But our greatest takeaway was the crispy tofu and rice. The tofu by itself had a lot of seasoning and was almost a little too salty, so I'm glad we got it with rice. Price was about $10 but the portion was fitting - lots of tofu pieces. Wish we ate it there so it was for sure crispy but we took it home - still good though!

Really delicious strawberry milk tea boba from Boba Joy! After driving past this place so many times, i'm glad i finally gave it a try. Their menu is extensive and they also have dairy free alternatives (the soy milk is great!) The place was quiet on a Friday night so I got my drink quickly. The boba was cooked to perfection, however the drink itself was REALLY sweet. If possible, I'd do half sweet or even 25% next time.

I was in the area and I always look out for any new Boba shops to try out. This place was tucked in the corner of a small parking lot. Place was cute on the inside, the staff was very friendly and attentive. I got 3 drinks: Thai Tea with Boba, Passion fruit-Green tea with grass jelly, Strawberry lychee tea (oolong) with grass jelly. I was surprised to find out they make their own grass jelly. 1. Thai Tea: standard typical flavor, I was not sure if this was freshly brewed or not. The boba were pretty good, seemed bouncy and chewy. I commonly get this drink so I have had it at a lot of other places. 3/5 2. Passion Fruit Green tea: 3.8/5 My sister said it tasted pretty standard so that was good, but the grass jelly was honestly like maybe one tablespoon so they didn't seem to get a good sense of how good or bad it was, kudos for a place to make their own, but they definitely don't give hardly any. 3. Strawberry Lychee tea- My niece did not care for the Oolong tea in this drink. It is not that common to see Oolong tea so that is why we chose it but not a good mix. They noted the same thing about the grass jelly, hardly any given. 3/5 They did have other treats there. Hot food like popcorn chicken as well as Tofu, etc. I was in a rush so I didn't have time to try these small eats. I will say it took a little longer for the drinks to be made, but at least I feel like they were serious about making the drinks correctly. Service: 5/5 Food: 3/5 Ambiance: 4/5

We came in on what they refer to as National Boba Day and advertised it on their Instagram account. They were promoting a BOGO free boba drink. However, it's not referenced anywhere that we would need to mention the promo. Pretty disappointed. Cute and nicely deco boba shop with snack menu. After reading other reviews, I decided to go with basic boba drinks. We ordered day n night, watermelon, and matcha. Nothing outstanding, but not water down drink. Service is quick and efficient. Price is right. There are tables inside and outside. Restroom is clean. Parking is plenty.

First time here at Boba Joy and was excited to try all the options for snacks and drinks. We ordered a taro with coconut jelly and a brown sugar with boba along with the popcorn chicken. The drinks were both great, the popcorn chicken was even better. Inside and outside seating is nice and perfect for bringing your dog. When first entering you notice that the Ambiance is great! Their menu has plenty to choose from, and so far everything I've had tastes good. Their food is also very good, the popcorn chicken is delicious! The service was quick and done with a smile on their face. Amazing shop for boba! read more

The wings are bomb as well as their lobby. It really does feel like a third place here and you can also get some game in exchange of your id(just so you don't steal them). The music is peaceful and the drinks are delicious . Even if something doesn't feel right they make efforts to make the moment right and adjust your drink. The Boba here is always good and delicious. I often come here with my sister and we love it as it's our little treat for ourselves. The staff are always polite, patient and helpful every time we come in the store. I go here after school with my kids ad they love the drinks and the popcorn chicken. The sauce that comes with it is to die for. I always ask for extra! The drinks have always been freshly prepared and taste great. They have a lot of options to choose from. I try to get a different combination each time I go in and have found some new options each time. The shop itself is cozy. The only draw back is the parking lot is small and really hard to park in but I usually park next door at Walgreens and it hasnt been a problem yet. We have been to a couple of the other boba places in Santee but really like this one the best. read more

I really enjoyed my boba drink. The boba were very tender and juicy, the best I've had in forever. Seemed like every place else I went for boba drinks the boba was big and cumbersome and very chewy and I had to throw all of it away after I drank all the liquid. This is my favorite milk tea spot in San Diego. I've tried a few but I will go out of my way to support this lil tea spot. The service rocks and the teas are phenomenal. I come here for my personal favorite the winter melon milk tea. Always a large! Always! It's pure refreshment. I then order a popcorn chicken. Get the popcorn chicken! Their appetizers are so worth the price. This place brings me joy! read more

Had their signature milk tea with their golden boba and popcorn chicken! Milk tea was refreshing and just the right amount of sweet. I usually don't like my milk tea too sweet but they got it right! I decided to try their popcorn chicken since it was a popular item. Popcorn chicken was well-seasoned and crispy. It was a great midday snack. I went to Boba Joy to help support Grossmont College CNSA for their fundraiser. It was less than 10 min away from the school so I will be going often after my classes! This is a great boba shop that gives me great joy! I went to Boba Joy in Santee to support Grossmont College CNSA for their fundraiser. I usually get the signature milk tea with boba - it's a great combination of milk and tea that isn't too sweet. The boba is also good and chewy. They offer many different drinks to fit everyone's taste in milk tea and boba! The popular flavors are: signature milk tea, wintermelon tea, matcha milk tea, and brown sugar milk tea. They also have assam tea, black tea, and jasmine green tea as well as slushies in different fruity flavors too. The taro slush is popular. There is also a menu inside that shows the best sellers of their drinks conveniently for you if you don't know what to get. I also get the crispy popcorn chicken. They give a good amount for one person in a box, you could share it with two people if you want. They also give a nice spicy mayo sauce that goes so well with the chicken. The chicken is crunchy and seasoned well. The employees are also friendly and work hard to get everyone's drinks and food fast. Definitely continuing to support Boba Joy in the future! read more

This is my new favorite Boba place!!! This cute little quaint shop is a hidden gem honestly. The staff is so friendly and kind. You're always greeted with a smile and they make sure that your drink is exactly how you want it. There's even board games that you can ask to play in the shop, which I think is really awesome. I also love the fact that they have a suggestion box for customers to write down things that they would like to see in the store and have even posted some of the suggestions up on a board. Oh, and they are popcorn chicken and egg rolls are to die for! The best part about this place is unlike other Boba shops their items aren't expensive and most of the food is $5 or $7. So don't walk, run to this little spot you won't regret it! read more

I decided to try this place for the first time as I have heard great things from my classmates not only from their yummy drinks but also because they are a local business, not chain affiliated. I love supporting local businesses. I ordered the peach slushie with 1/2 scoop golden boba and 1/2 scoop mango popping boba. The first sip was delicious and the boba was quite the extra treat. I do recommend and plan on returning. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the owner (Joyce) is such a lovely gal. We did not know she was the owner till over halfway through our random conversation. She seems humble and didn't make a big deal that she is the owner. I have just ordered my boba tea. I asked for half sweet and strawberry jelly in it. When I was given I did not see any jelly, but they told me it has. On my way home I tasted it and It was excessive sweet and there was no jelly at all! When the girl in reception took my order, I asked her if she wants to repeat the order but she said no need! placed an order via Uber eats app for two popcorn chicken orders and two boba drinks and the store forgot to give the driver the food and only gave him the drinks which is upsetting . I called the store and a young guy answered and stated he sees the order that was placed but didn't know who handed off the food. i strongly suggest that if this store continues to deliver through Uber, that they TRAIN THIER STAFF WORKERS ON HOW TO COMPLETE ORDERS AND MAKE SURE ORDERS ARE COMPLETELY FULFILLED BEFORE THE DRIVERS LEAVE THE STORE. The roasting of the beans that are done right behind the counter. They have all the standard flavors and dairy free options. They also have decaf options in small, medium and large cups. I usually get the chai coffee during the week and there is a small morning rush but the coffee is worth the wait. They have croissants, muffins and avocado toast. There is street parking and you can enjoy coffee indoors or outside on their tables. This used to be just the roaster warehouse then they added the coffee shop for patrons. Enjoy!

This place is great. I've been here several times in the past year. The place has a good ambience, from the decorations on the walls to the warm lighting and nice music playing. They offer a variety of different boba teas and drinks, and it's really easy to customize your order. They also offer multiple food options, like fried chicken, eggrolls, and cajun fries. Came into boba joy this morning to try out the place and see how it is because I have never tried it. Walk into the restaurant it was super clean and I was greeted instantly. I got to talking to the worker and she was very friendly, she come up with great drink suggestions, and she never made me feel rushed when ordering. I got her name and it's Naveah . Green tea Summer Joy drink. Apparently its "off menu" but one of the baristas suggested it since I asked for something refreshing tea base. Definitely hit the spot. I had asked for no sugar but what stood out was the Bo barista mentioned it has a flavored syrup based which does come sweetened so it was the perfect amount of sweetness with no added sugar.
