I've had a hard time finding yummy boba and this is the spot!! It's delicious and the customers service is just the cherry on top! oh I forgot to mention.. the bubble waffle was really good too! read more

Hello Boba Joy! You make some great Popcorn Chicken and some pretty good Milk Tea! The Milk Tea I ordered was the Brown Sugar Milk Tea. The milk tea was good and came with a the perfect amount of ice. The brown sugar flavor was subtle, and I would of liked a little more of that flavor. It was good however. The popcorn chicken was fantastic. It came with a great crust: a crust that was well seasoned, and the chicken inside was tender and tasty. I like that they give you some pretty good size morsels to eat. The popcorn chicken here rocks. The staff are pretty friendly. Some of them need to be a little more, how would I say, in good spirits, and the others were just grand. read more

I'll be moving to Santee this week. My initial experience at Boba Joy was terrible. Their Jasmine Green Milk Tea was mostly water, and the aftertaste was incredibly unpleasant, tasting like soap. Why does the aftertaste like soap? Who knows. Boba places like It's Boba Time or Boba at Plaza Bonita are much better than Boba Joy. And the boba itself was awful. I need to find a different boba place to go to. read more

I absolutely love the service here, the food and the atmosphere. There's always nice music and you get to play games while engaging in friendly but professional conversations with the staff. Boba Joy has been my go to spot for 2 years now. Team Boba Joy! read more

the fellas working on Sunday had great customer service, good vibes and good bob...five stars

Good selection of drinks and boba is always nice and chewy. The star of this place is popcorn chicken! Crunchy with decent (couple of big pieces) size chunks! You get a box for a good price. Staff is friendly. I'm always vibing with the music. I almost didn't want to post this, but maybe this will make sure the chicken will stay plentiful and decently priced! read more

i really like this place! they have a large selection of items and i especially like how many flavors of milk tea they have :3 their milk tea could be a little sweeter, but that's a personal preference. read more

Finally got to try this place for the first time since it opened. I find it interesting that just a year ago, the same place was also a boba tea joint called Ding Tea. I can say that the quality of the drinks isn't all that different from place to place. I ordered a lychee slush because I needed something with some flavor to go with my breakfast burrito. I should've tried some of their different boba add ons instead of just the regular golden boba. Oh well. Next time. read more

I got matcha creme brulee and wintermelon milk tea they werent the authentic type very far quality from other brands, I ordered a milk tea with egg pudding and the egg pudding was sour bec it was spoiled already i went back to the store and they happily replace it. Got the taro with boba and boba consistency was okay, Was kinda hard a chewy which is a no for me and the taro flavor lacks quality and taste. Will probably give them a second shot but with try something other than taro. read more

What a JOY to go to! We always get the brown sugar bobas because we like to compare them to other boba places. It was good! Also, one of the reasons I gave it five stars was the service. One of our drinks was steeped incorrectly so it tasted watery. They replaced it no questions and were apologetic and nice. If you join their membership you get ten percent off your first purchase. It was clean and had a cute area to sit down in. read more

I love this place. It is hard to find a boba place that also have food/snack, and I was thrill when I found out about this place. The snack is excellent. My little one enjoyed the cajun fries, and I love the pop corn and the crispy tofu. The drink is good as well. Excellent customer service, and if you want a snack with a drink, this is a place to go. I saw that they also have a popcorn chicken combo with rice. I will try it next time. read more

I love the boba here. It tastes very fresh and I love that they don't put too much ice in the drinks. There are so many flavor options to choose from. There are games inside so you can play with friends while you wait for your drinks. There are lot of seating options available inside. The staff was very nice. The shop is small but very bright. It makes you feel energetic and happy. This is my favorite boba spot in Santee. read more

Great food, great friendly service, and it's affordable. Place is clean. My son and I had a great time there!

Well the place has changed names but still have great teas and food.. it's a little tricky with parking but if your patient it's worth the wait. Small place with indoor and outdoor seating. The service was great they greet you when you walk in and a great selection to choose from. Very clean inside and out. Little hidden gem tucked away. My drink was pineapple passion with black tea . Also added the crystal boba 50% sugar large. Very refreshing. read more

Spot is just okay. Ordered pretty basic drinks, but felt like the tea used was way too strong. My peach green tea and oolong tea were so darkly brewed and the drink was very bitter. Ambiance is okay, Theres a few tables to sit at, but be aware parking in front of the shop is a tight squeeze! Recommend parking further in the lot. Service was good, they were nice enough to swap out the drink to something else read more

Love this place! Staffs are always friendly with fast service. We have tried a couple different drinks here but taro slush is our favorite. Some of the toppings and the winter melon tea slushy are very sweet. Taro with egg pudding is my husband's favorite and so is mine. Give it a try if you haven't already :) read more

There aren't many boba shops in the area so I was happy to see boba joy. I tried the green milk tea with 50% sweetness and a black milk tea with 75% sweetness. For their milk teas, they said they use a lactose free creamer. Overall the drinks were a little light in tea intensity but given the price it works out well. Overall not too bad. read more

What a cute shop! Good drink options! They have some food too in case you want something savory! They have board games to play too!

I used to come here when it was known as Ding Tea. Today was my first time at Boba Joy! I had the Hokkaido Milk Tea, 50% sweet with cheese foam and egg pudding. It is the perfect level of sweetness for me, and the egg pudding is delightful. I also had the popcorn chicken and fried tofu. The popcorn chicken is still crispy, even though I had it delivered through UberEats, which is impressive! It has a yummy sweet-savory seasoning on it and comes with sweet chili sauce and a spicy mayo that reminded me of Cane's sauce. The fried tofu is also good and fresh. Overall, satisfied and will return! read more

It was a sweltering hot day, and you really want to drink something other than water. My cohort and I decided today was the day we support our Grossmont student nurses. Thus, onwards to Boba Joy! I have been to Boba Joy exactly 5 times now, and every single time I have been thoroughly satisfied with the quality of their tea and service. I get either their iced Oolong tea or their iced Assam Black Tea (unsweetened). You can't possibly go wrong with either one. The ice and ice level was good, as well. It was big chunks so it didn't come up the straw, and there was just enough where the drink was kept cold throughout the hour that I drank it. The flavor was amazing. It was sweet, cold, and refreshing. The tea was just strong enough for me. I've been told their boba milk teas are spectacular too. I was also able to try their Crispy Tofu, which was a very welcome vegetarian option. They had a great combination of a crispy exterior with a soft, mushy interior. There were definitely enough to share around and people said they were delicious. The popcorn chicken were pretty popular too! Service is friendly and the tea came out very promptly. Of the many boba places in San Diego, Boba Joy was definitely one of the most refreshing for great value, and it's the place that I recommend. Have fun experimenting with different flavors and toppings! read more

Went to Boba Joy in need for a calm environment to work + a tasty drink and found exactly that! I wasn't sure what to order, so I asked the employee, whose name was Diana, for a recommendation. My drink was amazing, and I even tried a new type of mango jelly. While I was working at a table, another employee, Charlie, was polite enough to ask if I needed anything else and if everything was alright. I have never experienced this kind of service in any other boba shops before, Boba Joy definitely cares about their customers. Safe to say I will visit frequently! read more

Service was good. Quick order my drink was made quickly as well. Mango milk tea was delicious. Will definitely come back.

My daughter ordered from this place on June 1st. She walked up to the counter, greeted the cashier and asked for a Vietnamese iced coffee. Without even looking up, greeting, or acknowledging my daughter, with an attitude said "what size". The entire interaction she was rude. Not only that, the drink we received was wrong. She did not receive a Vietnamese coffee. Either that or the Vietnamese coffee tastes watered down like a regular iced coffee or milk tea. Highly disappointed. I was excited to try out a new spot and ended up regretting it. Next time I'll just go to Da Boba. (the rude cashier was the girl with the bob/ short hair and bangs. The other cashier that handed her the drink was very kind) read more

I asked for a blended milk tea. They charged me $1 extra for a blended drink that was not fully blended. There was big pieces of ice which couldn't pass through the straw. I was in a rush to get back to work so I couldn't go back to complain. Ended up leaving the drink in my truck to melt a bit but then it diluted the drink. Not what I was expecting for almost $9 total. read more

Disappointed. I've been going/ordering here for months with little issue, but since they switched over.... Today they double charged me for boba AFTER I already paid. And what they gave me is less than half of what they normally give me and they double charged me for it...then told me they couldn't refund or fix it. 3/3 orders I've made since they switched names were completely wrong . They lowered their boba content by about 60% it used to be they'd put a PERFECT amount in and a double order was too much. But now this is less than other places SINGLE order. The drinks taste watered down, and less creamy. The front desk guy was super rude when I called to make sure my order was wrong and not my own mistake. When it was the previous place they had good customer service.I'm super sad because they were so good before. What a disappointment. The only reason I'm even giving them two stars at all is because the manager seems very understanding and sympathetic to the mistakes. She needs to teach her employees how to handle situations to how she does read more

This was the old Ding Tea. Same drinks, same food options, same staff, just different name. I love their shrimp pops and popcorn chicken. My usual drinks here are the Passionfruit Green Tea, Grapefruit Yogurt, Wintermelon Milk Tea...all with boba, of course. Great boba shop! My go to boba shop in Santee because their drinks are yummy and they have really good food snacks. This establishment was original Ding Tea but became independent and changed to Boba Joy which I'm really happy for them! They can change and add to the existing menu on their own terms! Anyway, they are tucked away in the corner of the small plaza near Walgreens - very cute and clean establishment. I enjoy their matcha milk tea and crispy chicken - honestly their crispy chicken is super good. Friendly employees and great drinks! Definitely continuing to support small independent business owners . read more

We came here for the national boba day bogo that they advertised on IG. I ordered 4 drinks, and when I got my receipt I questioned why we didn't get the bogo.
