It seemed like there were only 2-3 people working that night, so the wait was understandable, just something to keep in mind if you need your boba fix ASAP Hokkaido Milk Tea: 5/5 I ordered the Hokkaido milk tea, and it was scrumptious; a bold tea flavor with notes of caramel and vanilla. I've been coming here since they opened at the Arcadia location and I always bring people here. They have the best takoyaki and I love the drinks. The wait times have gotten better over the years and even though the recipes have changed, I still enjoy the drinks. I do miss the pudding in my tea though but the lychee jelly keeps me satisfied. The biggest issue I have with this place is how awful the inconsistency is with when their kitchen hours. I've been here multiple times where the place doesn't close for another 1.5-2 hours and the kitchen is already closed. I come here for the drive thru convenience and I'm somewhat of a loyalist. I love the food. But tonight was the last straw for me so I decided to write a review finally. I'm 5 months pregnant and I'm always craving their takoyaki. I ordered a takoyaki and my usual tea order and the window cashier (who was very friendly and professional) told me that if I had ordered at 10:35 he would've made my order. I ordered at 10:38, there was a large line out into the street, and he decided to split hairs and deny me part of my order. They don't close til 12 so I feel like an hour and a half is adequate time to close down a kitchen. I won't be coming back. Those 3 minutes were really worth it I guess. This is the last time I'm turned away with adequate closing times. I usually end up at meet tea in Rosemead for food every time this happens. They don't close til 2am and have a really great dining area and are fast when ordered through yelp. They have always made my food. Meet Tea also has a mix and match special. They have great fried tofu and they have a larger food selection there and calamari rings as well as takoyaki. Goodbye boba express, hello meet tea! read more

I've driven through this place so many times but never thought to stop by. Recently my friend recommended the popcorn chicken from Boba Ave and I thought I gotta try it. For $6.95 it's about average price for an order of popcorn chicken and it's decent sized. I asked for extra seasoning and medium spicy for my order. The flavor is good. Medium spicy is actually not that spicy. However, just half way though the cup of popcorn chicken, mostly I'm just getting crumbs (or maybe chicken skin?) so that's a bit disappointing. Thought I'd get all chicken. Maybe other people would like it more this way. This place is drive through only. So be prepared to wait in the car for the food/drinks to be ready. My order took about 15 minutes. The staff taking the order and payment were friendly. There are cool murals on the walls as you drive though the order area. read more

I've lost count of how many times I've driven by this spot but I finally got to try it! There's usually a line at night too. We got the jasmine green milk tea with boba and the peach passion fruit green tea. Both were delicious and the boba consistency was perfection. I'm so glad we opted to get the large too for the green milk tea cause it was so so good. I was lowkey actually cracking popcorn chicken and holy wowwww, I'm a fan! They serve it with a side of cheese foam and it's sweetness was the perfect compliment to the savory and spiciness of the seasoning of the popcorn chicken. Whenever we visit LA we have to stop by this place for the mango yogurt with extra thickness and the Hokkaido milk tea. It's the way they make it here! I'm not sure what MAGICAL goodness they put into the drinks here but, please continue to do it... I love coming here around 9pm or after dinner. Whenever I drink the mango yogurt after dinner time, I can really LET IT GO in the morning! Hehe... I highly recommend the mango yogurt for people who might have constipation or indigestion. But, that's just the benefit of it. I truly love the flavor and texture of the mango yogurt drink itself. It's also so RARE to see a drive thru boba place! Wish they would open one of these near Temecula... Sometimes we'll see cute guys or girls working there. They are all very friendly and welcoming. I really like this business. Haven't been here in almost two years and now it's a complete drive thru now so no more ordering indoors! Food - Settled for the Strawberry Yogurt with Boba. This has also been my go to drink. The perfect ratio of blended strawberries and yogurt makes this a delicious dessert drink which I was craving! Service - came here on a late Thursday night so service was fast as there was only one other car in front of me. Ambiance - The drive thru extended! Typically where you would pick up your items is now where you order your items and now it loops around to where you pick up the items where the walk-in entrance used to be so this allows traffic to be more efficient when it's busy. I initially gave 3 stars because our service on one day was rude -- handed her some bills of cash and she rudely said we were short of the amount with a condescending tone and attitude. Asked her politely to recount and she just rolled her eyes, but then realized she made a mistake, and didn't even apologize or acknowledge us afterwards. However, I've been here many times in previous years and I've thoroughly enjoyed the drinks and service beforehand. Updating review to 4 stars to reflect this! I haven't gone in a a couple months and today I went and noticed they have updated their drive thru again (seems better). Unfortunately, they took almond milk tea off the menu, which was my go to drink. I opted for the Jasmine milk tea today and it has a really fragrant taste (not in the best way).
