i love this place! i went through the drive through and it was pretty long (my initial spot was near the entrance of the plaza next to it) and it took around 15 minutes. the tea is great! I highly recommend the jasmine milk tea for jasmine tea lovers. i got 50% sweetness which was surprisingly not very sweet? I would have gotten 75%. However, the brown sugar milk tea was really sweet at 75% so i guess it's a gamble. the boba is great and lightly sweetened and on the chewy side. overall great place! very small but love the prices and the boba read more

I used to split spendings between here and half and half next door but recently I've noticed that at half and half they take a way longer time to make drinks than waiting for drive thru here at boba Ave, and also the customer service is way better at boba Ave. makes sense why I like it here so much better. I will never come here again. There were maybe 3 cars in the drive thru and I ordered inside. Longest wait I've ever had for boba - 20 minutes!! I asked for a jasmine milk tea with boba 50% sweet and what I got was jasmine milk tea 100% sweet with no boba. Wtf? I don't care how cute your little shop that looks like a mechanics garage / oil change station with fancy boba cups if you can't deliver the best and correct product requested by your patrons. This place is really so so. It use to be really good but with the rise of the other boba giants, they should really step up their game. I had the regular milk tea boba. The milk had a powdery texture with a weird after taste as well. I did not taste any tea flavor, it felt more like sugar milk water. The texture of the boba was good and hence I still gave it 3 stars. I've definitely had worse but this will not be a top pick where I will come back again and again. I don't know why I had such a low expectation for Boba Ave Express but I ended up liking everything I tried. The long line of cars is for their drive-through but I think it's faster if you park in the lot behind and order in person. During our visit, they didn't take Apple Pay but a sign on the window said they accepted Venmo and PayPal. I ordered the Strawberry Mango Smoothie and pretty much loved it. So refreshing and they blend in real fruits! I also got to try the Strawberry Yogurt Blended but it was a little tart for me. It also has real strawberries in the drink. My friends also ordered some Popcorn Chicken at extra spicy but they didn't think it was too spicy. It comes with a dipping sauce that we all thought was whipped butter. Will be back! read more

We don't have drive thru boba where we are from. So we like the convenience of using them while in California. It was very easy to order and I love drive thru that put two menus. One at the order window and one further behind so people can review before the window. I got Hokkaido milk tea while my sister go the cheese foam uji matcha. They got 3 sizes, the medium looked big already! We got mediums. They do not have alternative milk, so be prepared with lactaid. It was not that busy when we came, there was 2 cars ahead of us and we spend about 5 mins. The drink itself was very sweet. Unfortunately we can't change the sweetness, that took away from the real flavor. Boba was good, chewy just how it should be. read more

It would've been 5 stars if the staff is more consistently trained because I think they have some of the best drinks I've ever had! I usually do the drive through...and curse the inefficiency of the staff as I sat and waited... plan for an extra 20-30 minutes out of your day so you can get boba at this drive through lol but you notice, I still go, and put myself through it. Because the drinks are that great! Be warned, some of the high school looking kids working the drive through are really new in this country. Once I asked for an extra straw, ended up sitting and waiting for an extra 10 minutes because the girl at the window dashed off to ask the manager in the back what a straw was in Chinese before coming back to hand me a straw by the window. So if you could speak Chinese, do so. I could've told her what I wanted in Chinese if she didn't take off like the wind as soon as I asked! I found myself screaming from the car "吸管！ 吸管！ a straw is a 吸管" to no avail because she was so freaked out and took off so fast! so if you could, speak Chinese! BTW, the ambience is nice but no bathrooms. Outdoor seating only. So not recommended for hanging out. read more

Tried Boba Ave for the first time yesterday after driving by the spot for the past several years. A friend had suggested a favorite drink of hers the Grapefruit-Orange Green tea that I should try. So after a busy day in clinic decided to treat myself and to surprise the wifey with a surprise snack and drink. The drive through was not packed luckily but i opted to park in the back so check out the menu. Decided to order the Grapefruit-Orange Green tea, Cheese Uji Matcha Green tea latte and medium spicy popcorn chicken. The staff was prompt and super nice. Great service from what i can tell. As i waited for my order i see the line forming and can see this place is indeed popular for boba aficionados lol... For the drinks my friend did not disappoint the grapefruit orange green tea was super refreshing with a nice balance in flavor from citrus grapefruit and orange to the sweet green tea flavoring. I might venture to say it can be my go to drink for something refreshing (at least until i try the other items on the menu). The cheese Uji matcha green tea latte was also delicious the creaminess of the cheese blended beautifully with the matcha tea. Highly recommend both drinks. Now the pop corn chicken was delicious! Not over battered great amount of seasoning and the box was loaded! Compared to other shops with popcorn chicken this one beats them in my opinion. I would definitely order again when i have the munchies for popcorn chicken. Looking forward to trying out their other offerings. read more

When I arrived to the drive through, there were 3 cars ahead of me. It took about 15 minutes to get to the spot to order. We got a large strawberry mango green tea with grass jelly and the large jasmine milk tea with pudding. The strawberry mango green tea had fresh fruits in it. We got it at 75% sweetness and it was actually not that sweet at all. The fresh fruit was very refreshing. The jasmine milk tea was the classic drink that I really enjoyed. I got it at 50% sweetness; it was a tad sweeter than I would have liked but I also think if I got it at 25% sweetness it wouldn't taste like much. The egg pudding was silky and good. We asked how long the popcorn chicken would take, and she said 15 minutes. We opted to wait since we already waited 15 minutes for the line. I parked the car in the lot and waited. It took 22 minutes for the popcorn chicken to be ready. The worker apologized for the long wait and gave us a free small black sugar boba milk tea which was very nice of them. The black sugar boba was good, the boba was nice and chewy and not overcooked like other places we've been to. The popcorn chicken was bomb for $6.99 it had great taste and quantity. Overall, good drinks, yummy popcorn chicken, and great service! read more

As a man who enjoys cold, refreshing fruit drinks, this place really hits the spot. My girlfriend and I were driving through Arcadia when we noticed a huge line of cars in front of a boba shop. Curious at what this hype was about, we joined the line. I got the grapefruit and orange with crystal boba and my girlfriend got the jasmine green milk tea with boba. The jasmine green milk tea was great but my grapefruit and orange with crystal boba was absolutely spectacular. It's such a fun and refreshing drink, and for those who haven't tried crystal boba, it gives your drink a soft but snappy texture and makes the drink so enjoyable to drink. This is such a great boba AND food place!! We ordered popcorn chicken, fries, Thai Tea and almond milk tea and they were all super good!! The line is pretty long, around 10 minutes since we went in the drive thru (super convenient since they also have free parking for you to wait and eat!!!!). Once you get to the drive thru window, the staff orders and gives you your drinks. Then, you have to wait around 15 minutes for the fries and chicken in the free parking spaces, which is absolutely awesome :) The almond milk tea has a sort of almond syrupy taste and it isn't super almond authentic. We got 75% sweetness on both drinks and it was honestly a little too sweet still for the Thai Tea drink. The Thai tea drink was very good and had a great tea flavor without any powdery flavors! Their boba is chewy and awesome too. The food is SOO good and their portions are huge. The popcorn chicken isn't really that spicy and we got mild but it's juicy, flavorful, and amazing. The fries are also super good but I recommend getting spicy in them as well just since it's a little bland without. They give you little tooth picks and everything and it's a GREAT experience. They also provide ketchup jackets and this container of some kind of dipping cream. It slightly tastes like whipped cream but thicker and is slightly salty as well. An amazing tea shop and restaurant. PLEASE go here it's SOO good and I understand the hype 100%. read more

Also have visited 'Boba Ave Express' at least a few times several months ago, making this review long overdue. It was basically just a drive through cafe, but it didn't take that long to get to my turn. Of course, I had to try their popcorn chicken as my first appetizer. It was extremely delish! The chicken pieces were cooked just right! I'll have to return here for another Taiwanese junk food appetizer. You need to know where you will park your car after to chow the food down because there was barely any parking space here for doing that. I went off to Westfield Santa Anita. I'm so glad they got a hype here now with a whopping 2k of reviews. Way to go, 'Boba Ave. Express!' I'll be back again soon after New Years/2022! read more

Mmmmnn best boba I have tried here in LA. I love the Hokkaido milk tea flavor. So unique of a flavor and was so delicious. I asked for 30-50% sugar. We tried to go up the drive through without a car and they said we would have to get our car. There was also no seating. Besides that, the name is what it represents: it's an express boba grab-and-go. Yum! Prices were so good too! read more

The line looks intimating but it's not so bad since they start working on it right after you place the order. The drive through line is long and going in to order seems faster. I had the boba milk tea and popcorn chicken medium spice. The milk tea is good but half of the boba was soft and chewy while the other half was hard. Tasted like half old and half new boba. There's a small parking lot in front. Outdoor only seating - cute place to sit and drink your boba but not a lot of space. read more
