I absolutely love BOB Salon! I've lived in Austin for 10 years now and I was unhappy with every salon experience...even left multiple salons in tears. That changed 2 years ago when I booked an appointment with Tricia, at Bob, on a whim. Without reading any reviews, I called Bob because I thought the building was adorable. Good reason, right? :) I left a message on their voice mail to book an appointment and was skeptical that my phone call would be returned, but they called back the same day! The staff was helpful and friendly. I explained that I was recently engaged and needed to find someone who I could establish a relationship with in hopes of her or him fixing my hair for the big day. She set me up with Tricia and I immediately felt connected to her! She is so personal and truly cares about her clients and their personal lives. I LOVE every appointment with her and leave satisfied with my haircuts/styles. I got married this past October and the wedding day prep was perfect!!! I met with Tricia for a trial-run on hair, we talked about several trendy options but I wanted my hair down and romantic. She completely understood the look I was trying to achieve. I wanted to look like my natural self but better. You know? No caked on makeup, just simple and romantic. Tricia fixed my hair for my bridal photos and Amber did my makeup. The photos turned out amazing!!! On the big day, Tricia (along with Amber) met my bridal party and I at the hotel to fix our hair. They were in and out! I loved that Tricia had the opportunity to meet my family and friends that mean so much to me. Everyone loved their hair and it stayed all night long. I was referred to Tricia Lee around 9-10 years ago, and have been happily committed to her ever since......I will wait and endure a much needed cut or color, as there are NEVER any regrets after receiving her services. When I first saw Tricia, my hair was FRIED from improper color services that I received. She had the knowledge to eventually transform my hair into a healthy halo of beautifully colored and stylishly trimmed locks. I do like to change color and cut occasionally, and she is always very honest about what she feels is appropriate for my hair texture, skin tone, eye color, and facial structure. And she is ALWAYS RIGHT; I know this because of the many compliments I receive after receiving her salon services. She is an expert at blow-drying.....my hair stays for DAYS after she blow dries it, although still soft and manageable. I would absolutely hire her for a wedding or special event. Aside from her expert skills, she exhibits professionalism in her chair-side manner, and likewise is always accommodating, patient, and friendly. She is a good conversationalist, but is mindful of those who prefer to read or have quiet time while having salon treatments. She practices at Bob's Salon, which is centrally located, has decent parking, and is very cute, quaint, and clean. The salon seems to have been renovated from an old house, which appropriately reflects a comfortable, yet unique setting in which one receives salon services. The feel is more intimate, as if having one's hair done in the home of a friend, versus a brightly-lit, commercial building with rows of chairs and endless shelves of products. I followed DAN LOGAN to Bob Salon. Love the location and how the owners set up and decorated the 2 adjacent wooden houses used for the salon. Very Austin. That said - I would follow Dan Logan to a cardboard box if that is where he set up his cut/style/and color chair. He is a genius. My first appointment with him was just by luck, at another salon. I went in with a cut and partial highlight/lowlight color that was partially grown out. He looked at my color and knew immediately how to mix his potion for the best color match. I left there that day with the BEST, most natural-looking color I have ever had. Dan has been doing this for 21 years, but it's not just his experience. He has an eye. He knows how hair behaves and he's honest with you about the limitations of your own hair. If you ask for something that may not complement you, he will explain that to you and give you other choices. He helps you understand how your own hair works and what would work best with your lifestyle and personality. Did I also mention he is very funny and smart? I used to look at hair cut and color day as a chore, but now that Dan is my hair stylist I don't want to leave the salon. I can't believe I'm writing this because now he may be too busy to schedule my hair appointment! But, I sincerely want what is best for him and for him to get the attention and credit he deserves. I am normally a very low-maintenance, no-fuss person when it comes to my appearance- but the one exception to this generality is my hair. Being prematurely gray at the young age of 23, I resisted coloring my hair for a long time because I didn't want the burden of having to do something besides get a trim once or twice each year. That all changed after having Fitz do my hair. I knew him before I ever sat in his chair, and he is one of the most honest and genuine people I have ever met. With almost 30 years of experience, Fitz mastered his craft in LA, doing hair and make-up for tv and film. I knew if I could trust anyone with my hair hang-ups, it was him. He diligently consulted with me and asked a ton of questions to make sure we were on the same page and he knew EXACTLY what I wanted. He truly understood my color concerns (I wanted it to look 1000% natural - without the grays, of course) as well as my style preferences. Fitz does such an amazing job, I haven't had anyone else touch my hair since that first appointment 4 years ago. In fact, I moved to Houston two years ago and will drive all the way to Austin to see my hair guru when those gray roots start to come in. Sarah at BOB Salon is the girl to see if your looking to go short!! Several months ago she inspired me with her pixie cut and then chopped all of my hair off. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. Every time I go to get it trimmed up she finds a way to amaze me! I was sure there was only a few ways to cut or style super short hair but that is defiantly not the case, especially not with Sarah! She always finds a creative and fabulous way to mold my unruly hair into the style of my dreams. She is great company and is outstanding at her job... especially pixies!! If Sarah isn't enough to get you to BOB Salon, the atmosphere should do the trick. This salon is perfectly Austin! It is a small refurbished house decorated in every girls favorite bright colors. It is relatively small, but I think that adds to the whole experience. Overall it is a pretty intimate setting. Sometimes I get nervous going into salons because I'm not super fashionable and most of the time am not wearing makeup, but one step into the front door and I relaxed. Great vibe, great staff. Two words: Sarah Kavakich. This girl is one of the most authentic and down to earth people I have EVER met. This is saying a lot. It really is. Think of all the people you meet in your life. Very few fit in your tribe. Sarah is in my tribe. Now, hair. Holy hell it's gorgerous. I looked so damn good I spent half the night staring at myself in the mirror. I am BEAUTIFUL!! Yes I am. Hair is an iumportant part of ones' self esteem and Sarah gave me the boost I needed to change certain things in my life. The experience was that profound. I had poorly dyed Feria hair and Sarah created an illustrious , highlight, lowlight masterpiece. I look GOOD. I am not conceited. I promise. She has the ability to make you look at yourself and say yes, I am good and boy do I look good. The salon itself is adorable. I loved it. Great parking and everyone is super friendly. I was there with a Groupon and was treated as if I had paid full price, which I totally would have by the way. Sarah is my girl. Go see her. I signed up to Yelp specifically to sing the praises of Payton Kelly. I've never been so happy with my hair before. First, the salon itself: Bob is beautiful, clean, quiet, and easy to get to. The parking is no trouble at all. The receptionist was courteous and friendly. The price for an ombre with three colors was reasonable, and I liked the product they used - color stays well and did not damage my hair. As for Payton: I'm so impressed! I had a tricky request - ombre on red hair, with auburn fading to copper to gold ('fire' colors). I also have extremely fine hair, and the length makes it prone to breaking. She had no problem working with my hair type, and accomplished the color task beautifully. Moreover, she chose colors that would fade to the desired effect after a few washes, which was a brilliant idea - my hair has stayed exactly the color I wanted, and it's been almost a month since I got it done! I highly recommend this salon and Payton Kelly! I can't wait to go back after another month of grow-out. read more

If you are a blonde in need of a great stylist, look no further than Michelle! I moved to Austin area a couple years ago (having to leave my long time stylist behind) and have since been on the search for someone who truly understands all of the different variations of "blonde" there are. I know the color I want, but often times struggle to communicate exactly what that is. Michelle listened diligently to what I was describing & knew the right questions to ask so she could pinpoint what it is I like & don't like. She didn't start anything until she was sure we were both on the same page. Because of that, I walked out with the exact POP of blonde I was asking for! Aside from the beautiful highlights, Michelle was the perfect combination of conversation & silence, chatting with me while she did my foils but also totally comfortable with letting me relax while she washed & blow dried. I've been going to bob since the old location days and love, love love, Sandra Thornhill she's been my stylist for 9 years! Sandra just knows exactly what to do and what to suggest if I don't know, I give her no direction-just sit down and let her do her thing! About a year ago, I said I wanted a drastic change and she knew exactly what to do! Before cutting more than 5 inches, she made sure I was really ready and tried to show me what it would look like. She knew I was nervous, but I had no doubt it would look great and it did! Beyond great!! The color, highlights and cute bouncy style was exactly the change I needed! The best part of a Sandra cut is the way it grows out, it still looks good and style stays even when it's time to get it cut again. First thought that comes to mind about Bob salon: amazing and a luxurious experience! When I first walked in, the receptionist was very attentive and customer friendly and walked me to the second part of the salon. I had a highlight appointment with Dan to correct a terrible dye job that could qualify for a misdemeanor in some places. So I sat down in Dans chair and explained what happened and he was very understanding and unlike most stylists, did not try to force his influence on what I should do to my hair- instead all of his suggestions had my hairs best interest and wouldn't leave me in a nervous wreck once I left. It was a 2 hour appointment and dan filled every moment with casual conversation, humor, and awesome hair tips that have helped my hair slowly get back to a healthy state. Tricia Lee is amazing inside and out! I first met her when she did my sister-in-law's hair for her wedding. Since that wedding in 2011, I've been going to Tricia @ Bob Salon and have been happy every time! Tricia is super talented, so easy to talk to, and I'd refer her to anyone in a heartbeat! She's so great for any type of cut, highlight, up-do, and good conversation :) My biggest concern for my hair was having my highlights look natural, and from the beginning, she's done them perfectly! When I got married in October 2013, Tricia & Michelle did hair and makeup for myself and the bridesmaids. They are all gorgeous girls to begin with, but Tricia and Michelle worked their magic, and I may be biased, but I think I had the most beautiful wedding party a girl could have! For years I would hop from stylist to stylist because I was never able to find one that I connected with or who took the time to listen to what I wanted , and was able to translate that into exactly what I wanted my hair to look like. Then came Tricia. She is extremely personable, and is able to give me the look I want everytime I see her. She's also honest, and if she doesn't believe that a color tone or certain cut will be the most flattering for me, she'll let me know, and will work with me to find something that will satisfy what I was looking for AND is still flattering to my face/skin tone. Lizzie Horn (at BOB Salon) has been cutting my hair for about 7 years (a long time, although I'm a newbie compared to a lot of her clients!). I found her shortly after I moved to Austin and never looked back. She's cut my hair from pixie short to in-between to long - I feel like she listens to what I want and has a really good sense for structuring a cut (she totally knows what she's doing). I've also had her do my color, which I always love and get tons of complements on. You don't always find someone who can both cut and color. I love Lizzie Horn at Bob Salon. I have been going to Lizzie for many years for highlights and cut. Not only is she incredibly talented, she is very nice and we always have a great conversation. She takes the time to make sure I'm getting exactly what I want and if asked she has great suggestions. I have thin hair and the way she cuts it gives the look of lots more hair. I love it! Her color technique is so good most everyone thinks my hair color is natural. Everyone at the studio is very nice. When you first walk in the door, you can feel the friendliness and they really care about you. I have tried so many places in Austin for a highlight and cut. I stumbled upon Bob's through Yelp, based on the reviews and the prices I decided to give it a shot. I was scheduled with Michelle, so lucky I got her because she specializes in blondes. She gave my hair a very natural highlight that was the perfect color. I have a lot of very fine hair, it is hard to find a stylist that will take the time to do the thin highlights I want, Michelle did an AMAZING job. She also took the time to get my haircut just right. I found my forever salon. Prices are very reasonable, the salon is modern and clean, I never have to wait for my appointment, and all of the staff is so wonderful. I give Bob's 5 stars. read more

I am still blown away with what Fitz did with my hair!! IT LOOKS BEAUTIFUL, but it sure didn't when I walked intoThe Bob Salon to get help! I always get blonde/brown highlights, but lately my hair was starting to look very dull, and it was depressing me.I was visiting Austin and went to The Bob Salon. Fitz took one look at my hair, and told me if I trusted him, he would fix it. OMG!!! I have not had a color like this in years! First I have to start by saying, I love the staff at Bob Salon! Lizzie, my hairdresser who I have gone to for 15 years, really knows both cut and color. I currently have short, short hair, which is hard for a lot of stylists to perfect on a woman. I always leave pleased and get lots of compliments on both my cut and how long my color lasts. Second, I love the location. So many salons in Central Austin you have to search for parking, and then walk. At Bob you just pull up and walk right in. Third, they carry the cutest jewelry and accessories for cheep! I always pick some up on the way out the door for gifts for friends. Would give it more than 5 stars if I could! read more

Kristin Faye is wonderful! I moved back to Austin 2 years ago and have not loved any of the salons I have tried. UNTIL YESTERDAY! She was attentive, made suggestions when discussing what I wanted, and explained why she would cut it a certain way. She did perfect blonde highlights without a trace of brassiness and then cut my hair into a totally new style with bangs. I've gotten compliments from everyone who has seen my hair! I took a risk and it definitely worked out. I will be going back to Kristin for sure! She is also fun to talk to as a bonus :) Oh, and the salon is stylish and professional.
