When I mentioned this, the owner became defensive and said she had been in and out of the hospital and didn't have time to call people back. She also claimed the sweater had been dry cleaned and told me that if I didn't want to pay, she would keep it and donate it. My wife called after I explained what happened. She calmly explained how unprofessional that was, and the owner said she'd undo the repair so we could pick it up the next day. But when I got there 20 minutes after my first call, the shop was still open, and the employee was confrontational--saying they "don't work for free." When I asked to take a photo of the sweater for documentation, he said it wasn't there, even though I had just been told it was finished. Eventually, after I insisted he call the owner, she told him to give me my sweater back and not to return. The whole experience was frustrating and unprofessional. I felt stuck--like they were holding my item hostage. I strongly recommend reading other reviews and getting all prices in writing before leaving anything there. I always try to support small local businesses, but this one made it very difficult. And to top it off, the business card they gave me wasn't even for Frank's Cleaners--it said Beachport Cleaners instead.
