I was told they can only do hemming of jeans. I only wanted a 1 inch hem on a jumpsuit which is very simple too. I was told by one worker to come back in the morning because the woman who could help me would be working. I walked in the next day to a gentleman who wasn't all that friendly from the beginning and then continue to call his boss and say that he had an unhappy Customer, and that the person who worked last night Told her to come back today for alterations and to be helped. Then was told basically nothing because I said I would just find another place to go. The woman who worked the night before was very friendly and helpful while this gentleman just said no we don't do that.

When I dropped it off, I clearly told them not to do any work until I approved the price, and they agreed to call me the next day with an estimate. Days passed with no call. When I followed up, the same employee told me the sweater wasn't done and that he still didn't know the price. I said I'd just come pick it up. Shortly after that, the owner called saying the sweater was already finished and the total would be $45. I was shocked--they did the work without my approval. When I mentioned this, the owner became defensive and said she had been in and out of the hospital and didn't have time to call people back. She also claimed the sweater had been dry cleaned and told me that if I didn't want to pay, she would keep it and donate it. My wife called after I explained what happened. She calmly explained how unprofessional that was, and the owner said she'd undo the repair so we could pick it up the next day. But when I got there 20 minutes after my first call, the shop was still open, and the employee was confrontational--saying they "don't work for free." When I asked to take a photo of the sweater for documentation, he said it wasn't there, even though I had just been told it was finished. Eventually, after I insisted he call the owner, she told him to give me my sweater back and not to return. The whole experience was frustrating and unprofessional. I felt stuck--like they were holding my item hostage. I strongly recommend reading other reviews and getting all prices in writing before leaving anything there. I always try to support small local businesses, but this one made it very difficult. And to top it off, the business card they gave me wasn't even for Frank's Cleaners--it said Beachport Cleaners instead.

She runs the place with structure and high standards, and I think sometimes that can come off as strict or a little serious at first. But that's honestly just her personality and work ethic. Once you actually talk to her and get to know her, she is very kind and genuinely cares about her customers. She takes pride in doing things the right way and making sure everything is handled properly. That's probably why the quality has always been consistent. My clothes are always clean, pressed nicely, and ready when promised. I've also noticed one of her granddaughters helping in the front recently, which I think is really special. It's nice seeing a family business being passed down and everyone working together. You can tell they care about keeping their reputation strong in Santa Paula. Overall, very dependable service and a hardworking family behind it. I definitely recommend them.
