I took a king-sized comforter there to be washed, and the lady at the counter quoted me a price of…read more$50--which was fine. When I returned to pick it up, a different lady was behind the counter. I asked how much it would cost to have a twin-sized comforter laundered, and was quoted a price of $35. This made sense because the king-sized comforter was over three feet wider and ten inches longer. However, when I returned with the twin-sized comforter, the first lady was again working at the counter; she told me that it would cost $45. I asked why, since I'd been quoted a price of $35. Her response was that "the other lady hadn't seen the smaller comforter." Aside from the sizing, both comforters were from the same manufacturer and were identical. Since I'd already given her the comforter to clean, I let it ride. When I came back to pick up the second comforter, the lady who'd quoted me the $45 price was again working the counter. I raised the issue with her, and she became sarcastic, saying "I heard you the first time." So, if you want to deal with what are tantamount to bait and switch business practices, and someone who has a really bad, sarcastic attitude, Westlake Village Cleaners is your kind of place! I won't be going there again.

The gentleman seemed hesitant but checked with the seamstress and accepted the shirt. The next day, they called and simply said they couldn't do it, with no real explanation. I understand if an alteration isn't possible, but the interaction when we dropped it off already felt a little dismissive. We were essentially asking for the sleeves to be professionally cut and finished rather than leaving raw edges if we did it ourselves. I also asked if they could note the shirt's measurements because it's difficult finding shirts that fit larger guys well. For a business that advertises alterations, the whole experience just felt odd and not very customer-friendly.

After the entire house being down sick for two weeks, we were just in over our head in laundry and it would have taken so long to get back on track. For that reason, our first order was a bit pricey, but for a normal week or two of laundry? Totally worth it. I was so impressed with how our clothing came back too. They listened to our request for non-scented/hypoallergenic detergent, so our toddler's eczema won't flare up. Everything was folded to perfection and organized in separate bags. Also? Softer than soft. I don't know what black magic they used but I'm super happy with the care and attention to detail. We'll absolutely be moving to a regular service. Spending a little money to get quality time with my family back? Absolutely. No questions asked.
