So this is an honest middle rating with room for inspiration. What I loved: The spicy chicken chorizo sausage had a nice kick of flavor, and the gravy was a hit. It's a neat spot to visit in Kirkwood. What fell short: I noticed some of the sandwiches looked precooked and that made me kinda sad. The biscuit was a little dry, and I wish it were softer. It needed something extra, like a sauce or some flair. That made me sad, because I really wanted to love this place. I'd love to see either a signature sauce on every sandwich or a small gravy portion you can pour over it. We got the big bowl for $5 and ended up wasting a lot of it. Not pictured: The salty sweet latte. It was okay, just not memorable. Overall I love the concept and idea and if your looking for a fun place in Kirkwood maybe give it a try and see how you like it.

Okay, it's safe to say that I am a fan of Polly's Diner and will continue to visit. Last weekend,…read morewhen I woke up, I was not in the mood to make breakfast. Instead, I wanted someone else to cook for me and I knew just the place! I suggest to my hubby that we visit Polly's Diner and he was all for it! When we arrived, we had to park out in the back (I really hope the parking lot can be updated or repaired in the future becuase right now, it's so bad), but that's not going to stop me! When we walked inside, we were greeted right away and they had a table available, so we were seated quickly! Our server was already offering coffee and water to us which was perfect. She gave us time to check the menu and since I already knew what I wanted, I helped my hubby make a decision since so many items were on his list. He eventually ordered the western skillet and I ordered the strawberry pancakes which I could not wait to eat! While we waited for our food, the server(s) on the floor were checking in with us and chatting with us ehile they refilled our coffee. Once the food arrived, I was so ready to dig in! My pancakes were topped with strawbery glaze and so many strawberries, I knew I would not be able to finish, but that didn't stop me from trying. I did eventually need to ask for a box and broght them home for later. My hubby said that the skillet was really good and had all his favorite food items included. It was such a good breakfast and honestly, for the price, we know we were fed well. Once we were done, we went to the counter to pay and were on our way. Polly's Diner is just a cute little Fenton restaurant and I am so glad that we have it so close to the house. I already plan to go again later this week!

TLDR: This is probably the worst Bartolino's location in St. Louis. Not great nor terrible…read more Bartolino's Twin Oaks was just okay for us. The atmosphere is nice--upscale without feeling overly snobbish or pretentious. We had a great waitress who provided wonderful service, but the tall busboy with the long bangs was a bit overbearing. He constantly hovered around us, including picking up a fork we dropped even after we told him we had it. Additionally, he started boxing up our food without even asking. I'm sure he was only trying to be helpful, but it made the experience feel a little uncomfortable. To start, the bread was delicious. We also ordered an Amaretto Stone Sour, which was just decent. I personally didn't taste much, if any, orange juice in it, which was disappointing. Just straight amaretto. For my entrée, I tried the Tortellini Piselli. It was good, but extremely rich. I could only eat about a quarter of it before I started feeling a little sick from how heavy it was. My mom ordered the Chicken Milanese and enjoyed it overall, although she wished it came with a sauce. She found the chicken to be a bit dry without one. Overall, it wasn't a horrible dinner by any means, but I'm not sure we'd return anytime soon. The atmosphere was pleasant and the food was decent, but there wasn't anything that really stood out enough to make us want to come back right away...

IF you find it...I passed by it my first go round because it is so tucked away in a corner among non-retail businesses. I ordered at the counter - the Cuban with a side, Caesar salad. I sat outside and my lunch was brought out to me. Can I just say that this was probably one of the best Caesar salads I have ever had? There was a true citrus tang to it that was just so fresh and delicious. I could've eaten a mountain of that salad and the homemade croutons were exceptional and full of butter too. No boxed croutons here. At first glance, the Cuban looked a little skimpy on the meat from what I'm used to, but the quality of the bread and the grill press were so exceptional that I had high hopes. It did not disappoint - the flavors were phenomenal and the size was just right. This is a truly fantastic sandwich and I will definitely order it again & again. Our office is moving close to this business near the end of summer and I envision this becoming a fan favorite, not only for me, but for others in the office. I picked up several catering menus to hand out to other departments and I plan to have them cater many meetings in the future if the quality of their other menu items can hold a candle to their Cuban and Caesar salad. Yum! Note, they also have a small breakfast menu.
