Turkey with dressing .. and more dressing?
    Dave L.

Usually a good experience when dining in at Valley Park store. Delivery not so much. Ordered two turkey/dressing dinners. One with carrots and one with green beans. Both showed up with mashed potatoes/gravy and TWO scoops of dressing. Does anybody check the orders? Take-out orders are consistently messed up.

The staff were friendly and smiling and made me feel very welcome. I got a biscuit and gravy and couldn't decide between spicy gravy or traditional sausage gravy so I was offered the opportunity for half and half and I jumped in it. Both gravy's were so flavorful with plenty of sausage. The biscuit was delicious. It was not flaky and buttery but held up well to the gravy atop it so I liked the texture a lot. I also got a hash brown and it was seasoned well and needed no ketchup or the like. It wasn't amazing, but compared to some others it was very good... but let's face it, I didn't go to a biscuit shop for the hash browns. I got a peach tea which was outstanding. Definitely on the sweeter side but that was so easily fixed by letting the ice melt to bring the sweetness down a bit to my preference. Overall I was very happy with my food and the staff and would definitely recommend giving it a try for both sweet and savory biscuits. Will return to try a sweet biscuit next time :)

There are plenty of breakfast and biscuit spots in this city. Don't spend your money here. I have been eating here for a long time and recently had a terrible experience on weds, Jan 28. It was my girlfriend's birthday and we chose to come here to start the day. It got a little busy after we came in , but asked for water and the jug never got filled. That's not even my complaint. Just a nod to the laziness. The staff seemed to come in and spread out everywhere at a table in the small indoor eating area. No big deal, but a little messy. There was no music playing and my gf said in normal conversation to me that there was no music and the vibe was off and that they probably focus on the patio being the vibe (which was covered in a foot of snow)...to which the man at the counter proceeded to ask us how things were and wrap it up with snarkily telling us we were welcome to outside. It was gross to talk to customers like that, and I am sorry that the ego of the employee caused them to interject themselves into a conversation that wasn't rude or loud or had anything to do with them. In my 20 years in the industry I would definitely not support my staff practicing such crappy service. And it really embarrassed us publicly in a quiet restaurant for no reason. Again. Please spend your money at another local business with mature and respectful service. *edit: after reading another recent review about poor service to a family of black people, I wanted to note in my review that my gf is also biracial...

Our server was helpful and brought over coffee and offered other drink options as well. She also shared with us some of the menu items that she enjoys and made some other recommendations based on what others have ordered. It was so hard to make a decision since everything looked and sounded so good. My friend ordered pancakes with strawberry glaze and strawberries and I ordered french toast with a side of scrambled eggs + cheese. By the time our food came out, we were both really hungry and could not wait to start eating. Both, pancakes and french toast were delish and neither of us were able to finish our meals so we asked for to go boxes and then paid (at the front) and were on our way out. Overall, this was an excellent place for breakfast and I can't wait to go visit again. The lunch menu also looked amazing so I will absolutely visit for lunch one day too.

So many specials & large menu makes me want to come again as well as the workers. Everyone was nice & some were related. So many pie/cake choices I was literally distracted to a halt on arrival, Then when leaving I was enthralled by a gigantic bowl of candy...also generous variety. Sadly, I did not have room for pie/candy. Served the most fries of any restaurant I have eaten at in 2025, & the thickest roast beef sandwich I have ever eaten. Hubster got a basic burger & polished his off as well. Family got a sandwich my mom would have wanted, but I'll be bringing her back for pie! I look forwarded to looking at the decor more on my next visit...pirate-vibes made me smile. We were engrossed in conversation & were one of last to leave before the closed. They did not rush us. We were there over an hour and half. Only restroom at a restaurant I have ever been in with a bidet!

Walking in, there was a board with seasonal specials (food and drink), as well as a joke. The decor was beautiful, such a great vibe. A gentleman greeted me and sat me on the less busy side of the restaurant. Then he noticed I was wearing a dress and quickly offered to seat me on the other side, where it was warmer. But I declined and sat on the left side with the bakery case. There was one other occupied table on my side, but it was a large group. My server, Melanie ( great name, BTW), immediately greeted me and asked me what I'd like to drink. I asked for a glass of water, and the Snickers coffee. Ended up choosing the breakfast tacos, and the order of candied bacon. The bacon was the most delicious thing I've put in my face hole. Sweet and spicy and salty and crunchy and chewy. Melanie laughed when I commented on it so glowingly. She also offered up that they've got a bacon cheeseburger with this bacon on it, and waffles as the buns. My tacos came out a little after the bacon, which was perfect. They were much heftier than I expected. I was only able to finish one, and brought the other two home. Also delicious. Chorizo, scrambled eggs, toppings, sour cream, and salsa. NOM. I'm not much for sweets, but couldn't help passing by the bakery case, because everything looked so good. This is a wonderful place. Excellent service from start to finish, reasonable prices, and cool decor. I've definitely got to come back again, bring my kids, and try more of the menu.

They have a huge bar offering some nice wines, cocktails, and an extensive selection of bourbons. While this can be an added perk to your dining experience, bourbon drinkers beware! Ask about pricing; we asked for a particular common brand. The server failed to explain they didn't have the typical bottle of the brand we requested in their bar, and only offered a special reserve version. The special version of the brand is mentioned on the menu, but we did not have the menu and just inquired about the brand. Therefore, there was no mention of the bourbon being a special blend or reserve and being priced much higher than what's typical for the brand. He just brought out the drink. We were shocked when the bill was presented learning just then it was a $102 shot. We were shocked considering we'd ordered other bourbon drinks there in the past and never paid more than about $20 for one drink. The menu lists wine prices; bourbons, however, despite their apparent wide range in pricing, are not noted. This experience left us feeling disappointed.

This spot is tucked away so quietly that you could drive past it a dozen times without realizing you've just missed one of the best burgers in the area. It has that "if you know, you know" energy, and now that I've tried it, I'm determined to bring more eyes and more love to it. The burger itself is everything a great burger should be: juicy without being messy, seasoned perfectly, and cooked with the kind of confidence that comes from truly knowing your craft. The bun holds up beautifully and the toppings are balanced--not doing too much, not doing too little. Every bite feels intentional, satisfying, and almost nostalgic, like someone finally made the burger you always wished every other place could match. And then there was the surprise: the homemade onion soup. I only noticed it because it was advertised right on the door as I walked in, and I'm so glad I did. It tasted like something made in a real kitchen by someone who cares. Deep flavor, slow-cooked richness, and that savory warmth that makes you feel like you found the right place on the right day. It's rare for a burger spot to also nail a classic soup, but they did. Tidy Jon's is the kind of hidden treasure people talk about in foodie groups the kind that eventually becomes legendary once enough folks discover it.
