I wouldn't normally visit a bob evans but I'm glad I did. We don't have them around where I live and I don't like ihop but I was pleasantly surprised. We were there around noon on a Sunday so my daughter got breakfast and i got a burger. I'll start by saying that our waitress was amazing! She checked on us a couple of times, made sure everything was good and kept the coffee and water coming. We got the cinnamon things which were really yummy, think auntie Anne's cinnamon nuggets, my burger was fine, she enjoyed her breakfast. Hubby and son got the BLT which they enjoyed. Would I return? Nice, big country feel restaurant. Open on a Saturday at 7am when the rest of the town is still sleeping Friday night away. There's a cute gift shop and plenty of seating. Got seated in a dirty booth right away and provided with coffee and water. The waitstaff is adequate but you can hear them complaining about their jobs because of the open kitchen. I got the biscuit ham benedict with home fries and fruit. My husband had the steak, eggs, hash browns and heavily buttered rye toast. It was all fine but luke warm. My fruit had also seen better days so I didn't touch it. Coffee refills were plentiful though. I doubt we would come back here; I feel Denny's is a better early morning option if chains are all you have. When you walk into this Bob Evans it looks like maybe a hurricane happened and hit the store inside that much left in the gift shop kind of dark and dreary like there was a major accident there. Friendly greeting turn to a long wait for food to arrive just for some simple breakfast. Very mismanaged breakfast took a very long time and all the girls seem to gather around the mistake that was made on one table one check. The cook in the back I was so high he could only read the tickets in Brea. When the food came it had been sitting under the lamps for a long time very sad. Prior to this experience I've never been to a Bob Evans restaurant. I've always been told that it's like a Denny's/ IHOP/ Shari's. Understood. Quick, easy, not all that expensive. True to form, it was exactly just like that. What I was most surprised about was that when we arrived about 8:00pm, an hour before closing, at just about every table without guests (no, I'm not exaggerating), there were stacks and stacks of dirty dishes. As a guest comes in, they take the dirty dishes from the previous customers, move them to a nearby table, wipe it down and get it ready for the waiting guest. About halfway through the meal, I see a wait staff coke to one table whose entire tabletop was covered with dishes. I'm thinking to myself that some one finally got off their butt and biased the table. Nope. That entire table of dishes were moved to yet another table. The whole time I kept thinking about the "it's not my job" mentality. If it's not the wait staff's job, then whose job is it? With the effort and energy that staff member took to clear the dishes from one table and set it in another one close by, they could have just taken a few more minutes and walked them to the sink in the back room. This was the weirdest phenomenon I ever saw in a restaurant... Food was good for what it was, and tasted as expected. I'm still puzzled about the dishes though. Then whose job is it!? There has been the ransom occasion where service wasn't great but it was usually just due to a new employee waiting on us or a lack of staff. They offer a great military discount too so it always ends up being very cheap. Can't beat it for decent food. read more

Several years ago we had ordered the thanksgiving feast it was great. This year we decided to order the feast again it was NOT great. When we got home and unpacked the box to put the food in the fridge there was no cranberry sauce. I like cranberry sauce. Thanksgiving day I went by the warm up directions they give you and we had over cooked dried up ham, corn that tasted over cooked ,over cooked green beans and bad dinner rolls that ended up getting tossed. Very poor customer service! I ordered through grub hub and when the food arrived late it was cold and missing an item so i called the restaurant to either ask for the missing food or a refund. When i got through to someone they put me on hold, when they came back i explained the situation and she said ok hold on and put me back on hold. Another few minutes went by and someone else picked up the phone and said "hello, Bob Evans" and i explained the situation again and told them that someone else was working on it but they hadnt been back yet they hung up on me! I called back and ended up speaking to the retail manager who contacted grubhub to get me a refund on the missing item. Was on my was to Deep Creek and made quick stop here as this is my midway point for the trip. I've ate here several times before, but tonight was terrible! Granted we got in a half hour before closing, but restaurant staff shouldn't give up that soon. You could tell the restaurant staff was irritated we came in as late as we did. As a result, it seemed like they could care less about our dinner. They just wanted to get out of there. My water had almost no ice. Who wants to drink lukewarm water with dinner? My mashed potatoes had no gravy, and my bread I asked about went ignored. Most times I would have rated this stop 4 stars, but after this stop they're lucky to get 2 stars. Stop at this Bob Evans today 5/15/21 at 5:30 PM. Saw four girls standing by cash register doing nothing. Might have been 10 or 11 people in seated to eat. After about 10 minutes the hostess came up to my wife and I and said they would be at least a 20 minute wait. I said to her there are only 5 or 6 tables filled. She said they were so far behind it would be at least a 20 minute wait. Looking at my wife I said to the lady, I have bad knees could we just please be seated and we will wait until they had time to wait on us. Her smart reply was I can get you a chair so you can seat right here !!! My wife grabbed my shirt and pulled me toward the door. As we left at least three couples behind us in line walked out also saying they could not believe what just happen. The thing is these people that are working still do not want to work. Just had the worst experience at the Bob Evans near the Morgantown Mall. My boyfriend and I went in there at 1pm today for a late breakfast. They were not busy or "slammed" by any means. There seemed to be plenty of staff. However, we waited about 10 minutes behind another couple to be seated. No hostess in sight. A man came over to seat the couple infront of us and then walked away to "see what we have available". He had to go find someone to clean off a table for this couple because almost every table that wasn't being used was covered in dirty dishes. After seating them, he came to seat us. He sat us all the way in the back of the restaurant and walked away without saying anything to us. When he walked away he walked right past a giant spill with tons of broken glass which was directly next to our table. The tables behind us were unbussed and the couple next to us had been sitting there for a while without being helped. Our menus were covered in coffee. We sat there for a good 10 minutes, a waitress never came to take our drink orders, the tables were never bussed, and the spill had not been touched. Waitresses walked around it like it wasnt even there. We decided to leave and when we did, we told the man that seated us that he should have someone clean up that spill, because the large shards of glass were dangerous, let alone the possibility of someone slipping. He looked at us like we were dumb and asked where the spill was. He sat us there AND walked through it when he walked away!!! A man at the register that was paying for his meal said "that still hasnt been cleaned up? That glass has been there for over half an hour". The man still seemed to have no idea what we were talking about, or made no effort to satisfy the customers or make us feel welcome to stay. What if someone got up to go to the bathroom, slipped on that spill, and fell on that glass!? The conditions in that establishment were disgusting and unacceptable, and we as customers were not treated right. I hate to complain or slam a business, but I am furious. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, assumming that maybe the bussboy called in sick or they were short staffed, but the longer we stayed the worse it got. It was not a welcoming or clean atmosphere where I would want to eat at. I was uncomfortable and distracted by the complete mess everywhere and the staff's attitude. read more
