The has to be the worst Bob Evans experience I've ever had!!! What is going on with this location? I stopped in to order takeout for lunch. I ordered the Rise & Shine Burger which is usually a great option. However the experience with this restaurant just fell apart from there. Here are some of the things that went wrong: 1) The store was disorganized and dirty. 2). No one was officially the hostess. It was the busy lunch hour and no one was there to greet and seat customers when the entered the restaurant. People were getting super frustrated waiting. 3) The kitchen seemed to be at odds with each other. The cook was yelling at one of the other employees which caused a ripple effect of gossip going through the rest of the staff. Many of us customers waiting for food could hear each employee complaining about how things are being run. 4) The food took forever to be made. I heard the one cashier tell another customer that they should just go somewhere else because it would be over a 45 minute wait for their food. 5) When my food was finally bagged up and ready, there were a couple of missing items. If I wouldn't have checked, I would have walked out the door without them. 6) I ordered fries with my burger and only got about 10 fries. This location is in a big need of some help. read more

Waited almost 10 minutes at the hostess stand for anyone to even acknowledge me. When they finally did notice me, the young lady said she would be with me in a minute, then proceeded to cash out 2 groups of people and Also take care of another woman who came in after me who wanted a to go order. Based on this level of service before in even stated, i figured this is what the waitress service will be like too, and I don't have enough time in my life for that ... so I went to Frisch's Big Boy down the street and had a lovely experience there instead, I recommend you do the same. I grew up in this area but it's been a long time since I've been home. This location has been here since when I was a kid. To be honest, the service was not impressive and bordered on lacking. The food was average, not like it was in the past, and certainly under the quality we've encountered at other locations, especially down south. read more

Stopped in for breakfast before getting on the road to return home. I ordered the Double Meat Breakfast with sausage patties and bacon and eggs over easy. It came with hash browns and toast. First thing, the eggs came a little over cooked. They weren't cooked over hard but they weren't the usual white color, they were to the point of being browned with that nasty crispy edges. And as you can see in the photo the yolk on one of the eggs was served broken. Both the bacon and sausage were over cooked also. I ordered the bacon a little loose, as you can see in the photo the bacon is real crispy and was served broken. The sausage patties were blackened on the outside and dry. The two things I do like cooked well is my hash browns and toast. The toast may have well not have even been toasted. It was limp from the liquid butter they put on it and as for the hash browns, I asked for them well done and I had to send them back to as the waitress said "so the cook can turn them over and cook them on both sides". But hey, the iced tea was good. But then again, I don't drink soda. I always have unsweet iced tea with lemon. Why is it that when the waitress comes around with a pitcher to refill my tea, they never give me another lemon? I squeeze the lemon into my tea for taste not for decoration. I had lunch here today and it was excellent in every way. All Bob Evans are certainly not the same given different managers and teams but this one was perfect. While the exterior structure and landscaping looked a little shabby, the interior of the restaurant was very clean, the server was very attentive and happy, and the food was presented well and delicious - hot foods were hot, cold foods were cold - everything was tasty and fresh! read more

Bob Evans is a regional chain in the Midwest and parts of the South that is kind of like a countrified Denny's though the food is significantly better than what you would find at a Denny's. Bob Evans serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, but they are most known for their breakfast, which is served all day. This Bob Evans is located near a shopping plaza on Bridge Street, which is probably the busiest street in Chillicothe. There is also an IHOP within walking distance and both seemed to be doing pretty good business for a weekday breakfast. The inside holds quite a few tables and booths. There is also a counter for those looking for quick service. Near the register, there are a few things for sale (candy, gum, pancake mix, barbecue sauce, souvenirs, etc.). Bob Evans' breakfast menu features a lot of variety and it is reasonably priced. Their breakfast options include waffles, pancakes, french toast, crepes, grits, oatmeal, omelets, breakfast skillets, breakfast burritos, ham, bacon, etc. Bob Evans is a sausage farm so their signature dishes include their sausage patties, sausage links and sausage gravy with biscuits. I had their french toast, which was good. Nice cinnamon flavor. Good and buttery crust with a sweet and flavorful center--not dry and also not soggy. I had eggs over easy and they were good too. I ordered some wheat toast (for runny yolk dipping). They had assorted Smucker's jams on the table (including apple butter, which I don't see that often). Their sausage links were good--juicy center and nice snap to the casing. Their sausage links are better than a lot of chain breakfast places (especially since one notable breakfast place's sausage links remind me of Jimmy Dean's frozen and then re-heated sausages). I also had two biscuits with sausage gravy, which is kind of a must-order at Bob Evans. The biscuits are hot with a good crunchy, golden top. The sausage gravy is very savory and very creamy. A lot of places serve that sawmill white gravy with biscuits and it is too bland. I've also had sausage gravy that is too oily and greasy. Bob Evans avoids both of those pitfalls. Service was quick. The waitress was attentive, but she was not that friendly. Bob Evans is a good breakfast spot and it is harder to find than the nearby IHOP. Though they have a wide variety of breakfast options, some of their food is run-of-the-mill (like their omelets). Still, their sausage dishes are good and if you have never had their sausage gravy and biscuits, you should consider giving it a try if you happen to be in the area. The last 2 times we have went to get our dinner with curbside pickup have been unsatisfactory. The first time after arriving at our pickup time it was a 1/2 hour and I went in to get our food only to be told we were getting ready to bring it out, a call explaining that it was going to be that long of a wait thinking it was a fluke we went back tonight and after a 20 minute wait after our pickup time our food was brought out and when we got home half of our order was missing. I not sure if you have new management if so you need to get the old ones back. read more

I was so disappointed. We ordered our food and the service was prompt. But the server should have been embarrassed to serve our food. The pancakes and bacon were burnt, and the hash browns were undercooked. The server didn't notice or care, and when we told the manager, he seemed oblivious. The cook should find a new career. There were 26 people in the restaurant at 6:15 this evening. Were asked to wait 15 minutes for our party of 6. Finally at 6:50 we were seated. At 7:15 someone finally took our orders. At 8:15, we finally received part of our order. By 8:30 we gave up. Someone really needs to evaluate this restaurant. This is the 3rd time in 5 weeks we have had this issue. The food at this Bob Evans was the same as others, but the cleanliness was not at all. The floor needed sweeping, there were five uncleared tables and our server's apron was filthy. Mind, this was around 9:00 pm and the place was not busy. I asked my husband to mention that the server needed to change his apron. The cashier casually said it gets busy sometimes. Bob Evans has really gone down hill over the past couple years. My family and I used to love the place and would always dine in for Sunday brunch. It has a special meaning to my family so I'm sad it has changed so much and not for the better. Not only has the food quality lessened but also the service. The other night I was craving some Bob Evans since I don't get my Sunday brunch anymore so I ordered some takeout. I ordered soup, a salad, and some pancakes. I got there to pick up my food and it turns out they never even made it so I waited for nothing. I don't even know how this could happen. Then I had to go to McDonald's. I just moved into town. I went there the first week I was here and it was good. It was lunch time so I did not expect service to be slow. When I went back a second time the service was great but the food was not. I was told to watch out the plate is hot. Yes it was but the food was not even Luke warm. The mashed potatoes were cold, carrots were cold and the meat was cold to warm. Depending on the bite. This was around 2pm so it was not a lunch rush. There were three other parties in the store. I just chucked it up. Left a $10 tip (service was good) and went to the register. I was waiting for the young lady to ask me how my meals was but it seems like she knew so she didn't ask. Back home in Cincinnati (Bridgetown), They take care of their customers. We would frequently eat there 3 times a week. Out servers were friendly and the food was warm to hot. Terrible service on Thursday evening (11/21/2019). Took 20 minutes for the waiter to come to the table. The hostess was nice and quickly sat us, but the waiter, he was terrible. Very disappointed- will not return to this location. Management should be doing their job and getting rid of poor under achieving employees. There really is not a lot of breakfast choices in Chillicothe so finding a place that is open takes some work. This spot is one of the better locations I have been to. The location and parking is good and the service always comes with a smile. The food is up fairly quickly and the portions are correct. Worth visiting at breakfast. read more

Blueberry bread came with an apology by April because it was just piled on a saucer--not sliced. Yeast rolls were served cold and hard. Ordered slow roasted pot roast. It was hot but there was a layer of grease on top with the pot roast under. Women's restroom was dirty and smelly. Staff was busy visiting. Glad we don't live here. Will not return. Disgusting. I got a mouthful of lint that looked like something off a ceiling fan. I told the waiter, he apologized and said he would check to see if things in the back were dirty. The manager could not be bothered to even talk to me. When I looked at the health department inspections I realized this is an ongoing problem there. It was not a one time thing. This has got to be the worst Bob Evans I have ever been to.. our server disappeared better than David Copperfield, she was slow, and took forever on everything that she did..... my omelette was like rubber, The ham that was supposed to be in it was outside of it smelled and tasted old, The peppers and onions were raw and just threw on top. The hashbrowns were halfway browned on one side and raw and cold on other. Never again will I be back there. read more

We visited on a Saturday, it was busy. We were seated right away, next to a table that said they had been waiting for an hour for their food. It was served while we watched, and there were several errors. The server came back 4 times correcting their order. This was my second trip to this bob evens and the first time I was alone Well first thing was I was seated in the two person booth and then it began. The male server of that section did not want to serve this old white male so there was a conversation that took place who was going to serve me. I could over hear this because the servers station was next to the booth so finally here came a nice young lady and the male server walked by and just gave a nasty look . that said my food was served at 41 mins after it was ordered. by the way chopped steak 3 course dinner.my order set under lights for 19 min. the biscuits got cold. the male server would not help the young lady and bring me my food. He was mocking me in a manner that was disturbing to me. anyway I expect that a young black man working as a server should not pick and choose who to serve. if this person is set in his section he should serve the person there. i felt that being by my self and a white male the serer was some what racist to me. read more
