I specifically said no gravy and even made sure to check my receip. There was not only gravy on the mashed potatoes but also on the chicken! So disappointed! Placed a curbside order. I arrived on time and called. Was asked if I could be put on hold and said no problem. They seem pretty busy with a lot of people going in to pick up the carryout. I waited close to 10 minutes and everyone left carryout and no one still picked up the phone. So I hung up and called back and she came right out with our order that was sitting by the door. I got my husband biscuits and gravy because he had surgery on his teeth and thought this would be soft enough to chew. Unfortunately the biscuits were almost rock hard and the gravy was cold. He heated it up and hoped the gravy would soften up the biscuits but it didn't. I'm sure we will eat here again one day but will make sure to go inside. It has come to my attention that there is a very obvious managing problem at this establishment. There is an overwhelming amount of one manager in particular not doing their job and consistently getting away with it. Not standing up for their employees, Not doing their OWN jobs (in addition to doing them lazily) and being the reason for so many of their workers departure from this branch. I have been in this restaurant and seen how calm and peaceful the restaurant seems to feel when other managers are in charge, but when this SPECIFIC one is there is an overwhelming amount of anger and frustration. I really hope someone can take constructive criticism or a master class to change their ways and learn respect for their employees but more importantly for themselves and be a better manager because they should have been fired a long time ago, if not now. read more

We were served food that the waitress she was told to deliver. Burnt BLT both girls BLT s were burnt. Including the bacon on one. The waitress apologized offered to get some bread. The girls had to rebuild their sandwiches. One without bacon. We asked for some releif on the bill the waitress took the left overs to manager. We only got 5.00 off. Both sandwiches were bad. The manager came to table to give the waitress our new check. Never said a word to us. No apology. At the register complained again about the food and time. Very disappointed in my breakfast today .. I ordered a western omelette toast and hashbrowns and it seemed like nothing was cooked long enough ! Even my toast was bad! The cheese in my omelette wasn't even melted and wasn't served hot and the hashbrowns were cold and not even grilled and crispy! Then I ordered some dessert and that came out not even a nice full regular piece, looked like half of it fell off and they served it to me like that anyways .. also my mom had to keep reordering something to drink because the tea did not taste right and had a moldy taste to it ? Then the second drink wasn't much better and her blueberry pancakes were not that great either and barely warm. I had Midwest meat-and-potatoes cooking every day for the first 18 years of my life, so I've had, and exceeded, my quota. But many are comfortable in that food space. Bob Evans pulls off this style about as well as any restaurant can. But it's basically like having a decent house in a bad neighborhood...the appeal is limited. And the Adrian location actually epitomizes both my favorite and least favorite aspects of this chain. This restaurant is conveniently located near the intersection of US 223 and MI 52 (S. Main St.) in the major commercial area for Adrian. It is easy to find and the parking is relatively abundant. It can get crowded at times as it has evolved into largely catering to an older demographic, toward which Adrian's population is skewed. If you're eating alone and/or if you're in a hurry, one tip is that there is a counter available where you can usually find a seat. My favorite meal at BE is unquestionably breakfast. They have several great options, so much so that I often order breakfast food when we go there for dinner. The most recent thing I tried was the Goat Cheese Veggie Omelet. Accompanied by toast and home fries, the portion was right - sized and it turned out to be quite satisfying. I will note, however, that I make a distinction between feta and goat cheese. I realize that putting items like these on an omelet is flirting with culinary ethnicity, and that is not BE's specialty. But it appeared that it was feta cheese that topped what I received, even though goat cheese was specified in the name of the dish. Although I like the latter a bit more than the former, my omelet was still to my liking. It's also worth noting that their coffee is average at best. It's basically Bunn coffee-maker java. As a friend of mine from Italy would say, it's "coffee water". That's disappointing for a place that otherwise offers stellar breakfast fare. Lunch and dinner options here are OK, but nothing special in my opinion. However, it really depends on what you like. Having said that, I will say that they do chicken very well and their potato crusted flounder is decent. But my favorite dinner there is their Wild Fire Chicken Salad. In the words of Sheldon Cooper, it's "zing-gy". The service at this location is inconsistent. That's sometimes reflected as soon as you walk in the door as about one in every two or three times we've visited, no one has been at the front to greet and seat. Sometimes it takes a minute or two even if it's not busy and there is an abundance of open tables. I'll note that the morning crew is their all-star lineup. Their best servers work the breakfast shift as do their best kitchen staff and management. Service at dinner, by contrast, can be hit or miss. On our recent visit at dinner time (we had a gift card to use), the service was...OK. But that's an improvement from what I've experienced during evening hours in the past at this establishment. The cost of eating at BE has taken a small hike in recent times, as has everything else. Whether it's breakfast or lunch or dinner, it's tough to get out of there for under $10 per person after food, drink, tax and tip. The last trip was about $15 per person. That's not unreasonable these days for any place not named Taco Bell or McDonald's but, to be honest, the value for me is marginal (at least at dinner time). One tip is that, if you want to save a couple of bucks per person, just get water to drink. I don't find their standard drinks (coffee and soda) worthwhile, except perhaps the lemonade and iced tea. In general, I can sum this up by saying that BE brings back childhood memories for me. But the memories from that particular part of my brain are not necessarily fond ones. I had great parents but their taste in food was not among the things I admired most about them. I do not need to be coerced to go to BE for breakfast. Otherwise, however, any other visit is either by default (Adrian is not a mecca for great food) or is a compromise when eating with others. Bob Evans was a complete disappointment this morning..... sadly, we were seated after a ten minute wait and then we were seated at a small booth and when the server checked in, we asked to be moved to a table. She told us to pick a table and we relocated. We sat there for 20 plus minutes waiting for someone to take a drink and food order. No one should up even after another person dining noticed we had been sitting there for a long time....we decided to leave after wasting almost 40 minutes with no service. I know and continue to hear that we are still catching up from Covid but this is inexcusably false. It's time to stop making excuses and learn how to operate a restaurant plus have of servers accountable for their jobs. When you see people who came in after you have their food delivered, you get a little upset. Well, Bobs Is done in my eyes. Never again will I waste my time going there! I feel it would be in the best interest of the Bob Evans corporation to shut this place down before it gives there other locations a bad name. After waiting 14 minutes for someone to greet us at our table we were able to obtain a drink. A drink that little did I know would be the last drink of the night. We were able to order promptly afterwards and our dry old dinner rolls arrived quickly as well. About 30 minutes later the burger and turkey dinner arrived. Turkey dinner was good except the turkey jerky part. The burger was decent however appeared the cook smashed it all down with his foot. The waitress dropped the food off and ran so we were not able to get any condiments for the burger and eventually just ate it plain. I completely understand that everyone is working "understaffed" however with only 7 booth's having people at them, two waitresses and 4 other members roaming around trying to look busy behind the counter I feel the staff is just terrible at working in the restaurant business. This is not my first experience like this here and I was hoping my previous experience was just a fluke. I now believe it is the culture of the Adrian Bob Evans. Great service, yummy dishes, and super unhealthy but so tasty desserts! Went for an early dinner and served by Taylor, who was so friendly and quick! The fried chicken was moist on the inside, crunchy on the out. Mashed potatoes with gravy and coleslaw went great with the chicken and the biscuits... Oh my goodness. So flaky on the out and buttery and pillow like on the in. For dessert we ended with the chocolate resees pie that was a perfect ending to the meal. The food wasn't very good and the price you pay is way past expensive for the breakfast food you get. Hash browns leave something to be desired and the French toast was just plopped on the plate not even cut and part of the egg batter wasn't even cooked. If that doesn't turn you off there was a hair in the gravy and a hair on a piece of bacon. I get things like this happen but in two different peoples meals at the same table ? Went with my mom and sister for my sisters birthday, my mom and I ordered the French toast, hers was undercooked with runny egg batter, it looked terrible how they tossed them on the plate with no powdered sugar. My sister got pancakes which were alright. The hash browns were VERY underdone. When they gave us our straws there was a part of the waitresses band aid stuck to the wrapper. We found not one, but two hairs in our food. One was long and the other was very odd, almost like animal fur. Terrible terrible terrible. I was not at all impressed by this location. I'm generally a local diner type of guy, but those are hard to find in these parts of the country, so Bob Evans it was! My partner ordered a cheeseburger and I got breakfast. After a long initial wait, our food finally showed up. The breakfast was typical BE meh, but the cheeseburger blew our expectations out of the water - in a BAD way. It was so greasy that the bottom bun was completely soaked. Jason sent the burger back to the kitchen because it was inedible. After a bit of a wait, the cheeseburger reappeared. It was the SAME BURGER on a new bun. It was now cold, dry, overcooked, and still greasy, but on a fresh bun. WTF? I finished my breakfast of overcooked fluorescent yellow eggs and Jason ate a few bites of his cheeseburger and we decided to leave. If you're familiar with BE, you know that you pay at the front checkout rather than paying the server. I mentioned the issues with the food quality to the young man running the cash register and his response was "oh! sorry about that, don't leave a tip!" I was mortified by his response, being in the hospitality industry myself. I told him that was a totally f-ed up response and I proceeded to leave the server a modest tip for her efforts. Got the old "bait and switch" done on Thanksgiving. I had checked their menu 1 week and then 1 day prior and figured out what Thanksgiving family meal i wanted to order. The website stated I had to wait until 8am on Thanksgiving morning to order. When I went to place my order, the menu had changed and I had to order single meals which raised the cost by almost $25. Then they tried to add a 15% tip automatically. So instead of paying $60 to serve up to 8 people, I ended up paying $84 (after taking off the $12 tip). I was put in a bind since I had not bought anything to cook. Then to top it off, they forgot my ham in 2 of my orders which I paid $2 extra per meal. read more

We made the mistake of stopping here & absolutely wont make that mistake again. By far the worst service ever by Alexis. The restaurant was slow and her speed of service matched it. I've worked as a waitress, i know how it is, but the fact that she had 2 tables and could barely handle getting a drink refill speaks volumes. I was in a bitter mood when I arrived.... the staff made that go away almost immediately. We arrived at 8:30pm and they were closing at 9. The host was very gracious and told us that it wasn't a problem. We were seated and greeted by our waitress (Jen) shortly after. She was very kind and again reiterated that it was no problem that we were there shortly before closing. I ordered the ham biscuit benedict. The great thing about Bob Evans is that you can usually count on consistency in food choices and quality. Obviously, it's not a fancy spot, but comfortable and friendly. Our server was very nice and attentive. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with a baked potato - pretty basic. The chicken breast wasn't huge but a decent portion, not greasy. The American cheese on the sandwich appeared to be processed, (not a fan of processed cheese), so I took off the top bun & ate the rest. No big deal. Overall, a good meal. Other members of my party were fans of the Potato Soup. My mom was pleased with her breakfast order for dinner. No one had any complaints, especially since one dinner included a chocolate sundae that looked great!
