I have eaten here many times. Food is always good. Tacos are excellent, and full of meat. Service is usually good. The reason for 1 star is due to the fact that they close at 8:30 and turn off the sign at 8:15 while we are walking up to the door. What poor customer service. You should change your hours if you don't want to serve people till 8:30. read more

Good TexMex food! Not real Mexican but more TexMex. Very similar to San Antonio TexMex in my opinion. Not the touristy fancy TexMex but the places off the beaten path where locals get their TexMex fix. The tacos were really good. Get the corn tortillas. Anything with flour is a burrito! However I don't recommend getting takeout; They have frequently made mistakes with our orders and told us we would have to drive all the way back for a price adjustment or refund (they charged for two guacamole cups and only gave us one, failed to exclude certain toppings from tacos, etc). read more

The best mexican food around! I drive up from Ann Arbor every so often just to come here. Everything I've had from the giant burrito covered in their outstanding meaty sauce to their tacos and enchiladas and tamales have been nothing but delicious!! Their cubed beef is amazing in anything, especially the burritos or chimichangas. They also offer fresh salsa and chips to munch on while you look over the menu. They have daily specials as well! We were pleasantly surprised. We found this smaller, diner type place had a friendly feel and good food, served hot. The price was more than fair and quantity more than sufficient. My husband and I have been going to Sunnyside Cafe for 20+ years and have always loved the food. However, we stopped in for a late lunch yesterday (9/21/13) and were very disappointed. My husband had the steak fajitas but his meat was very bland and over cooked. I had a combination plate and the ground beef for the taco and chalupa was also bland and over cooked. It tasted like boiled ground beef. The pork for my tamale was dry. Even the beans were bland. If we hadn't added salsa and salt, I'm not sure we would have eaten it at all. Our server was not very attentive either and we sat right in front of the cash register. I posted a note on their Facebook page, which they have taken down. read more

Waitstaff was super kind and friendly and made the experience the best it could be! They were all awesome. The food on the other hand was just mediocre. Lots of grease. I guess if I read their shirts before I ordered I would have known to ask for less slime. Definitely a home-cooking restaurant. read more
