Stopped in for a meal. Not a busy time at all. After 12 before 3. No crowd. After being seated, waited over 25 minutes for someone to take our order. Never happened. Paid $4 for a coffee and water. Why would you overlook a customer in a nearly empty restaurant ? People who came in after us had their order taken promptly. Then it dawned on me. Because this happened to me at this very location. This place doesn't deserve any stars!! Manager and servers sit at the front counter while customers do not get service. My visit on October 19th 2019 was terrible. Manager was rude to us. We have tried over four times within a year for this location to get an order correct. We understand times are tough and people are stressed but to continually mess up orders is a sign that this business should not be there. We ordered last night and part of the order wasn't there and then when questioned they brought out a cup of sausage gravy instead of bowl of gravy and no biscuits. I give one star because that is the lowest allowed. First I entered with my wife, daughter, her husband and 8 month old child. We were ignored until my son-in-law stepped around and made as if to seat ourselves. At that time a man came over to finally seat us. When we got to the table he placed 3 settings. I said there are 4 of us. His reply was that he was seating "his"party indicating my son in-law. I said, "We are together." We are a mixed race family and I was overwhelmed by the obvious racism displayed. This was only the beginning of the worst dining experience in many years. Took 15 minutes to get drinks and an hour to get over cooked food. My daughter ordered just biscuits and gravy. 45 minutes later the manager came to say they were out of biscuits and it would be 15 minutes more before any were done. My daughter asked for the gravy and toast which were brought. Later when she asked the server where the biscuits were her reply was, "Oh, I didn't know you wanted them." I ordered off of an app called Grubhub the driver or deliver whatever you want to call him was really nice on the app I put I do not want tomatoes on my salad and I would like some butter for my biscuits I ordered a chicken pot pie and it came but it look like it was just throwing in to the carry out box and smashed my chicken noodle soup the noodles were hard in the soup is cold my biscuits were really cold there is no butter with them not to mention I found a hair in my soup that wasn't mine it was gray and short and curlyMy salad was not a big salad it was a small side salad and I have ordered from Bob Evans before and I had a bigger salad and that my hot chocolate was cold and water down with no whip cream it was filled halfway my salad did not come with dressing and the croutons were stale. Have tried to give this place a chance too many times. The last time the manager blew us off. Food is NEVER warm let alone hot. The Steak & Eggs taste like Salisbury Steak and rubber eggs. We have been to many Bob Evans Restaurants but have never been to one operated more efficiently than the one at 3400 Lesh St. NE., Canton, OH. The General Manager, Brian Lloyd, takes a very active part in all phases of the operation. He not only helps his staff deliver food to the tables, but clears tables, oversees the food as it comes from the kitchen, and fills in wherever there is a need...at the cash register or in seating customers. He frequently stops by the table to say hello and make sure everything is satisfactory. His conscientiousness filters down to the entire staff. As a result meals are served promptly, the wait staff is courteous and friendly and the quality of the food is always outstanding. It is so refreshing in this day and age when indifference and poor service are the norm to be able to see, not only the manager, but his entire staff going above and beyond in providing outstanding customer service. My mother and I went to the Bob Evans near Harmont and Atlantic (Route 62) for lunch today. Got to the restaurant about 11:45AM, seated quickly, waitress came over and took our drink orders. Came by almost 10 minutes later with drinks, silverware and napkins. Put in our food orders and waited 45 minutes. No drink refills, no waitress coming over and telling us the food is on its way. A couple was seating next to us and had been there when we first arrived. The waitress finally came over to their table and brought their salads and said to them "I hope it's up to your standards." Eventually I got up to look over at the cooks' window where the wait staff gets the food orders to see if there was anything waiting to be picked up. Nothing. We started to wonder if the waitress even told the cooks our order. I got up and said, "Let's leave." The couple next to us agreed and got up with us so we put some money on the table for the drinks and walked out. Looked around for a manager but just saw waitresses. The manager, if there even is one on the property, obviously does not want to get involved with what happens in the restaurant. The Bob Evans on Dressler in North Canton is much better. I just hope they don't transfer any of the Lesh St. staff over there. read more

My friend and I eat here sometimes a couple of times a month, but it's always b/c in the moment, it's the most convenient. That said, I DO like their Farm Fresh chicken sandwich with the portobello mushrooms and spinach quite a lot. But it's probably the best thing on the menu. I rarely write reviews for these chain restaurants b/c I find them to be average on the whole and about the same anywhere you go; however, I will take the time to do so if I find something particularly appealing...or vice versa. Our last 2 visits to this particular BE have been less than satisfactory, and despite the fact that I often receive coupons, I don't know if I want to go back. A couple of weeks ago, we went in later in the evening for dessert and coffee. Usually we go out to Longhorn or Macaroni Grille when we want dessert and coffee, but we were both tired, this BE was less than 1/2 mile from home, and we were on the way home from Wal-Mart. My friend ordered the strawberry shortcake, and I ordered the apple pie. Her shortcake was obviously stale; it crumbled when she touched it with her fork, and there was no moisture in it. But she had lots of strawberries on it, and she said that was enough ti make it palatable. My pie, on the other hand, was NOT palatable. The bottom layer of dough was barely cooked. I ate a few of the apples out of the center, but I couldn't eat the rest. I would have told our server, but after she delivered the food, she did not revisit the table. When we checked out, I told the cashier that I had been unhappy with my pie and the reason why; I also told her I had not eaten it. Her response? "Really? I'm sorry about that. That will be..." and she rattled off the amount of the bill. There was no, "I'm sorry. Let me take that off the bill." Or "I'm sorry you were unhappy. Let me get a manager and see what we can do to make it right." Or even, "I'm sorry. Here's a voucher for a free dessert another time." Any of those would have been the right and acceptable way to handle the situation. Despite that unhappy visit, we returned last week for breakfast and had the unfortunate luck to get Victor as our server. We have had him before, and every time we are disappointed in the quality of our service.We initially ordered our drinks: a water with extra ice and a coffee with half and half rather than that fake cream they use (and this brings up another point. Where "down on the farm" do they serve artificially-flavored margarine rather than butter, artificially flavored and chemically-enhanced "cream" rather than the real thing, fake syrup, and powdered hollandaise?). We received our drinks: water with about 6 ice cubes in it and a coffee with a pitcher of the fake cream. Victor fixed it, but we were already off to a bad start. Next we ordered our meals; we both ordered our hashbrowns extra crispy, cooked on both sides. Normally, they throw a pile of par-cooked shredded potatoes in a pile on the grill, lightly brown one side and serve them that side up so you don't notice that none of the potato underneath that top layer is actually cooked...or brown. Since they are called hash BROWNS, I like mine brown. I also ordered bacon since I have an allergy to sausage and ham. We received our meals. I had sausage links, and neither of us had extra crispy or brown hashbrowns. Since Victor was not returning to the table, we flagged down another server and asked her to send him over. She asked about, and we explained, the problem. Victor then came out with the bacon and said the hashbrowns were back on the grill. I had finished my entire meal before they came back out, now REALLY brown on one side and totally uncooked on the other. I ate the top layer and left the rest. At this point, we had neither the patience nor the time to wait anymore for it to be fixed. When we got to the register and the cashier asked if everything was alright, I told her not really. Again, there was no inquiry about what the problem was or how it could be made right. I see this really as an issue of training. It's obvious that a dissatisfied customer is something that makes these girls nervous, that they don't have or don't know the procedure in place for dealing with unsatisfactory service or food issues, and they are not interested in learning. At this moment, I have no desire to return to this particular BE. I don't know that I would recommend it to anyone else, either. read more

Was visiting and met a friend here who lives in Louisville. Service was ok and food was below average. Bacon came out so over cooked it crumbled when you bit into it. The reorder was much better. There are much better Bob Evan's restaurants out there. This is the 2nd to last worst Bob Evans I visited. The worst is in Rock Hill, SC. read more

Currently sitting in this bob evans . Its been about 45 minutes since my wife and i have ordered . We both just ordered waters to drink and i said an orang juice also . Waters come right out . Never see my orange juice . Been waiting so long for my food im almost not even hungry anymore . Everybody is in good manner and respectful . But with that being said . I wouldnt come back to this place even if the food were free . You lose 3 hours of your day waiting on a 15 minute meal . (2 eggs , suasage , hash brown) . Its a shame what this place has become . This is the worse Bob Evan's I have ever been to. Worse service and food. My friend and I went to breakfast before going shopping. We waited over an hour for our meals to come. Breakfast is the easiest meal to make. The waitress we had never told us what was going on in the kitchen finally my friend got up and ask to speak to the manager. After waiting another 5 minutes for the manager to come over we explained the problem she said she would have our meal out in 7 minutes. She never explained the problem. After meal came out the eggs were cold as well as the rest of the meal. After we complained about our meal she said we would not have to pay for our meals......we didn't eat anyway. My husband & I came here 3-10-19. This is possibly one of the worst places I have been in quite a while. There was no one to seat us & that took forever. The waitress came by after 10 min to take our drink order. I ordered ice tea WITH LEMON & husband ordered hot tea. 5 minutes later someone else brought our drinks & I again asked for LEMON. She said I'll just bring a bowl in case he would like some too. Another 5 minutes pass & I went up to the counter & asked for some LEMON (3rd time) from the same girl who said she would bring a bowl. She said sure how many would you like. It was as if it was the first time she had seen me & had no idea that she had said she would bring me some. Our waitress finally came back to take our order. Totally clueless about the menu. I ordered the value roast turkey dinner. On the menu it says Roast Turkey with dressing, served with mashed potatoes. She asked if I would like dressing or potatoes. I said it comes with both doesn't it? She said well you can switch them out, which would you like. I said just give me what the menu says. She says, so you don't want to switch them out? AHHHHH. She walked past the table after delivering another order & said we are out of blueberry bread, so would you like banana bread. I said sure. She delivered another drink order to another table & said "you said blueberry is ok right?" I said you told me you are out of blueberry & she said sorry, I'm just waking up. Close to 1.2 hour later our order comes. There was enough gravy on the plate for about two bites of mashed potatoes, but I wasn't about to ask for more at this point because the meal would have been cold before extra gravy would have made it to the table. When I finished, my husband had just poured another cup of hot tea, so I said I'll go up & pay. The cashier was on the phone & I stood there & stood there & finally just went & sat back down because there was already another person ahead of me & it was obvious that the phone conversation was going to take a while. When we finished & went to pay the phone rang just as we got to the counter. I said "OH GREAT here we go again." The cashier had seen me walk away the first time & told the person on the phone to hold. That was about the only good thing that happened since we walked in. Normally on Sunday there is a wait for tables after church, but this time every other table was empty & it's easy to see why. We won't be coming back here again.
