Had my kid's birthday party here, and honestly, everyone had a great time. We did the laser tag package which included the party room for 1 hour, 2 laser tag games, 4 rides and 200 tokens for the arcade. The kids had a blast! So did the adults. The laser tag was extremely fun for the kids! Man, I had forgotten how much fun laser tag is until I saw my kid and her friends playing. Then the party room was simple, but served its purpose really well. Our party hostess, Karrina, was really great with the kids and made sure the party kept moving along. I think what I liked the best about the experience for the party, was that our hostess walked the kids around to the rides and through the arcade so they could familiarize themselves with the layout of the Boardwalk. As I was talking with the adults, we were discussing competitors like Bowlero and Lucky Strike and how unreasonably priced it is for a family of four now a days. Just the arcades there are so expensive! Here, the kids were able to make their tokens last for hours and walked away with some fun prizes too. I hope the prices never get ridiculously high here. This place is absolutely beautiful inside, and I genuinely understand that "new businesses" need some time to work through the inevitable startup kinks. That said, if I were rating the overall experience based solely on execution today, it probably would have been closer to 2-3 stars. We rented the "Sports Simulator" booth and received very little instruction on how the games worked. Some games required using a golf club, while others required using the actual ball, and there wasn't much guidance on which was which. On top of that, the simulator frequently failed to recognize the ball. Eventually, we were moved from one simulator booth to another, which worked better and at least kept our boys (ages 9 and 11) entertained. We also weren't sure how food and drink service worked. We ended up going directly to the bar to place our orders because we didn't know the intended process. Again, a little direction would have gone a long way in helping us enjoy the full experience. The drinks were excellent, but the food was just average. My biggest suggestion would be to provide guests with a quick orientation or post simple instructional signage in each booth. A poster explaining how the simulators work, how to order food and drinks, and any other important information would make a huge difference. We ended up spending a significant portion of our rental time trying to figure out the process instead of enjoying it. Overall, I think this place has a lot of potential. The facility itself and the remodel is gorgeous, and once the operational details are ironed out, I can see it becoming a fantastic destination. Took the little here a few weeks ago, it had just opened for the day so foot traffic was low. I'm not much of a people person haha so that was indeed nice. The price of games isn't bad compared to other arcades. The cleanliness was actually up to par for sure. The eating area has plenty of options, the pizza is really good so make sure to give that a go. There is a few rides along with laser tag! The boardwalk is connected to the bowling alley so go bowl some frames too. The Boeing are just opened up a remodeled section and it looks absolutely amazing!! We hosted a children's birthday party at Boardwalk and paid $866 for what was supposed to be an organized, professionally hosted event. That is not what we received. The party was poorly managed and disorganized. The assigned host was rude and yelled at the children on multiple occasions, which is completely unacceptable in a kids' party setting. This behavior alone should never happen, especially at this price point. Management failed to properly intervene or resolve concerns during the event. The level of service provided did not come close to what was advertised or reasonably expected for a premium-priced children's party. Well this was my first time coming here and it is a lot like Chuck E Cheese and it is bigger though lots of Video games and there is even Bumper Cars inside also plus it is a lot like Family Fun Center which is boomers now . My son's birthday at the Boardwalk was chaotic but he had fun. We chose the Ultimate Birthday Package which includes unlimited rides, laser tag, $15 game cards for guests (up to 10) and a $20 game card for the birthday boy or girl. Each kid after the first 10 is $35 extra but they told me they only have 12 laser tag vests so bigger parties would need to be split into two games. I definitely recommend getting there 15-20 minutes early so your party host has time to explain the schedule and give you a run down of the day's events. You also really want to stress to your guests to be there on time if you're doing the party package with laser tag. We had a couple kids who missed out due to being late and the round only lasts 7 and a half minutes. We never got a second round of laser tag as it stated on the schedule. You will not be able to go into the actual party room for the first hour of the party so be prepared to sit and loiter while the kids run around and go on the rides. The second hour of the party you get into the room, they serve pizza and leave you a few minutes for cake and presents. They give out the game cards at the very end of the party so allow for extra time after the scheduled events to play games. Honestly everything felt really rushed and stressful but I understand they need to keep things tight to ensure all the parties that day are on time. My biggest complaint though was that the pizzas didn't come out all together so there were people sitting around waiting while half the guests ate. For the money you pay, you would expect the staff to be on top of things and even though our party hostess was super nice and trying her best, the service was simply lacking. Some of the games a little beat down and do not work. Workers were able to get them working of give us the credit for it back. I really enjoyed the laser tag and thought it was fun. We came here on a Sunday for a birthday get together (wasn't a party arranged through the boardwalk). We bought a card so kidlet could play games and all they wanted to do was play claw games. The birthday kid's parents bought wristbands for the kids so kidlet got to do the indoor play structure, bumper cars, the track coaster ride, and the frog ride. We didn't stay linger because we had been there for hours already (bowled first) and I was hangry because it was hot in there plus screaming kids, flashing lights etc. All the games I saw were working, staff was teenagers who didn't give an f's what was going on (staff manning the jungle gym thing left the post and lots of kids who didn't pay got on). Also I am NOT saying my child got lice here but this was the only place we didn't take precautions with putting their hair up/back as we had come from swim lessons and by the end of the week they had lice. Our tech who worked on their hair said the infestation was about a week old which lined up with our time here. Overall fun for kids, nightmare for parents. We took our son bowling at Parkway Bowl (which was ridiculously expensive, considering how long it takes a 6 year old to bowl, it should have been priced per game and not per hour...). After spending nearly $60 on lane fees, we decided to head over to Boardwalk so he could get his wiggles out. I'm not a mathematician or anything, but I would venture to guess approximately 80% of the actual games were out of service, the jungle gym (which is what he REALLY wanted to play on) was closed, and the only things that were open were the bumper cars, which he's too little to play on, the air hockey, which requires a 2nd player, and the claw machines/stop the spinning thing machines. After we used all our game credits on the 7 working games, we went to the prize counter so he could get his prize and the workers there ignored him. When he finally got a chance to say which prizes he wanted, the workers kept walking away mid-sentence and we weren't sure how much in prize credits we were spending or how much we had left. I understand being busy, but a bit more organization at the prize counter would've been nice. Overall a pretty frustrating experience. We may end up going back one day, because my kid is a kid that loves to play. I'm only hoping they are out of business before he asks to go back! read more

Lots of fun for the kiddos. Probably best for ages 10 and under. I couldn't give 5 stars because the place needs to be remodeled. So many broken games and it doesn't look like they are fixing them but they have added a really cool VR game that 4 players can use at the same time. It's pretty expensive but so are most arcades unless you are in Vegas. The food is nothing to write home about so I suggest eating at home and then coming here. The kids had a blast though and that's what counts. They have unlimited rides wrist bands and I suggest getting one. They do a ticket system where some games give tickets and the kids can win prizes. We came here for my daughter's birthday. This time of year is hard to predict if there will be rain or not, so we decided to play it safe and stay indoors. I choose the package that included 2 games of Lazer Tag, some games and rides, pizza, and added a game of bowling. This included the private room and host. Our host was Trinity and she was super nice and helpful. It wasn't super crowded so everyone got to really enjoy themselves and the waits were not long. The only thing I would change is to maybe upgrade/replace the Lazer Tag vests/guns. Some of them were not working very well, and darn it I was on a mission to win. Overall, it was a good day. This place is out in El Cajon and is half of like a bowling center complex? One half is like a Chuck E. Cheese vibe and that's the side we went to. Was looking for something to take my four and a half year old to do so we drove out here and honestly, it was not a bad time. For 20 bucks we played games together for a good half hour. They have some little rides but the only one mine wanted to do was bumper cars and he was too short. For $5 you get access to the climbing play thing which felt reasonable even though we paid for it and then my kiddo got too scared to go on it. They have food and beer and you can go through a door to get to the bowling alley which was packed. The arcade/ride side didn't have a ton of people so we didn't have to wait for anything, which was great. I had no idea how anything worked when buying the card for games and rides and the girl working was super nice and explained it all and didn't try to upsell us, just helped us spend what we needed for what we wanted to do. It was pretty ambitious for that age I would recommend 7 to 12-year-olds the people who worked there were five star helping to host an amazing party. There was some confusion going on and a lot of wait time for the laser tag. It's the east county version of John's Incredible Pizza or a really scaled down Dave & Busters for toddlers, minus a full bar and good food. Their activities are geared towards smaller kids. Bigger kids might tolerate the arcade, but not if the game controls are broken or cost $1 per play. There's a cute little carousel, but it pales in comparison to the double decker ride at the mall nearby. Food was cafeteria fabulous and ranks right there with previously frozen, amusement park fare. I didn't get a case of the bubble guts, so I consider that a victory for my aging iron stomach. We attended a kiddie bday party, which seems to be a popular weekend option. I only say this because I happened to notice a clipboard with the appointments schedule for the party rooms and all the hour time slots that were booked up. The available space at Boardwalk is decent and much larger than I expected, and they have quite a number of attractions to amuse the kiddies. They also have more than one party room to host events. There are rides, a bounce house, mostly obsolete arcade games, and random redemption games. The only machine that got my attention was a newish looking, brightly lit Pac-man hybrid arcade game that also gave out prize tickets based on your final score. The $1 price per game is ridiculously steep and quickly crushes its replay value. I really get nostalgic with rebooted versions of Pac-man, so I did play twice. We played frustrating games that ate tokens, had wonky controls, or didn't distribute tickets. It wasn't worth the effort to track down an attendant. We even tried to play a simple crane game to win small pieces of candy for Mini-me. Three tries for one token (25¢). We struck out because the claw barely opened to grab onto any piece of candy. I've seen other places that do play-until-you-win anything since the candy prize is worth pennies and no kid should leave empty handed. The Boardwalk employees are very helpful and friendly. The guy working the bday party was efficient, but seemed to rush things along since another party was booked in the same room later that day. The gals working the prize redemption area were nice and amazingly patient since Mini-me wasn't sure what to get and we must have went back and forth looking through the shelves and display cases several times. Unless we get invited to another Boardwalk kiddie bday, I'm pretty sure this is a one and done visit for me.
