We had a great experience and birthday celebration for our son's birthday. I was concerned after reading the reviews but our hostess was as sweet as can be and met all of our needs. $400 bux well spent. read more

Outdated place not the right place to go to play pool expensive for the low quality of food and drinks

This place charges way too much not to have an air conditioner. Five bucks on some games that last like 2 minutes?? I ordered French fries and it came with a small container of ketchup. Not near enough for the fries. To get more they charge 81 cents plus tax!!! C'mon man!! If I do ever go back I'll bring my own!!! I looked at the pictures and a quarter of the games they showed don't even work. read more

My daughter had a defective prize and the guy behind the counter refused to exchange prize.

Decided to hold a birthday celebration here, it was the worst birthday celebration ever. I didnt buy a birthday package as they were expensive. They voiced that they wish we and others had bought the packages because it would have informed them of the crowd they would receive that day. Well they really werent prepared that weekend. I stood in line for 30 min to order a pitcher of beer. The elderly lady at the counter seemed upset and flustered at the customers. "Locals" who seemed to enjoy the atmosphere with no kids or apparent family around were also hostile. The place looked old and dusty. Prices were not competitive and equipment and games were broken. read more

I took my girls here last night. They had fun The good parts - there is a lot to do, lots of games, lots of rides for them to play on. It's big, I enjoyed the fact that the girls were allowed to kinda have free range of where they wanted to to. The downfall? You have to pay tokens to play on a big jungle gym (first time I've ever seen that) the ride operators were like robots. They weren't very friendly and they kinda just acted bothered that you had to ask them to operate the rides even though that's what the signs says. The pizza we got wasn't very fresh and sticky floors. They had a lot of people who were cussing a lot kinda unkempt. But all in all for $20.00 they got to play for 2 hours and I got some free time so it was a nice break read more

Love this place 10,000 times more than Chuck-e-Cheese and it's not as crowded. Super helpful workers, real indoor rides, and fun games! read more

This review is based on the games side portion of the Boardwalk. The Boardwalk is literally like an indoor boardwalk minus the ocean/body of water. Video games, rides and food. Seriously, I was pretty impressed by the fact that there was an indoor carousel, huge play gym, a bounce house, bumper cars, mini roller coaster, laser tag and more. I believe on certain days they give out more credits per $1. We ended up spending $20 worth of credits and thinking it lasted us quite awhile. Granted we were here with our almost 2 year old son. Most of our time was spent putting him on those little toddler rides that move back and forth and chasing him around. Still we had fun. Who doesn't love a little ski ball? Will definitely come back to bring our son here again. read more

Elora is the best employee at the boardwalk, you can never get a better one. She is so nice and chill with everyone. She has to deal with humans when she works and is always kind no matter what the situation is. She helped us find our way to laser tag and we had a great time. In conclusion Elora deserves a raise. - His Children read more

Celebrated my sons Birthday. Worse place ever... So disorganized and our party host was so confused herself as to how fast things had to move. DO NOT have a party here... Chuck E Cheese is alot more organized and less rushed. read more

My son spent 2 hours spending money and getting tickets. He put all his earnings into getting a plastic boomerang. Less than 5 minutes later we left and he tried throwing it. It landed on the roof. I asked the manager if he could have another one and the answer was no. This is very poor customer service! read more

Packed with FUN and the nicest staff make this the BEST place to put smiles on kids! Took my 27 year old years ago & now I take my 4 year old. Recently, my 4 year old was in hospital for over 2 weeks. Boardwalk was his incentive to get better and stay positive. I took him there, and ALL smiles for the first time in weeks. OLIVIA is awesome! She had just been disrespected by a group on 6 year olds (and their parents) when my son came up to ask questions about prizes. She gave him all smiles & brought all the toys down from the wall and onto the counter so he could choose! This act of kindness made his day - after so many painful days at the hospital. Thank you for your kind heart OLIVIA read more

This place has everything for kids of various ages but the prices are ridiculous, the food is below average, and the employees walk around like they hate their jobs and want to be anywhere but there. We came for a birthday party and the hostess didn't smile once. The package that was purchased gave the kids each 50 coins on their cards. Each decent game is 25 or more tokens. So one use and you're out. We told them to keep our cards when we redeemed our 20 tickets but then realized that the rides need the cards but to purchase a new card you get charged $1. This place is a rip off. It's over priced and is in need of a good cleaning. My oldest told me as we were leaving "Mom, I don't want to come here anymore. I like Chuck E Cheese better. It took all of my money too fast and I only played two games." Kids don't lie. read more

There is man named Ethan who spinned kids on a giant wheel. Ethan was an underappreciated man for he gets paid less than that cashier. He ,the man, who used his strength to push teenagers. It is an injustice that a man with his personality and charisma does not get the money he deserves. Being in the presence of such an amazing human being is not a moment that I or my companions will ever forget. In conclusion, this man deserves a raise. ~ Joselynn, Chris and others. read more

Had my son's 7th birthday party here. I went for the laser tag package, and off hand, I thought it was expensive, but you get a lot with the package including pizza, unlimited drinks, game cards for all the guests and two games of laser tag. We had a dedicated hostess, and the party was well organized. The kids had a blast, and I know it will be a memorable birthday for my son. read more

Maintenance, Maintenance, Maintenance... It's not cheap to spend an evening at the Boardwalk. The food isn't cheap. The games aren't cheap, the rides aren't cheap... the only thing cheap is the quality of evening that you get for your hard earned deniro... When 70% of your product is broken, broken down, or straight up nasty it is time for a reevaluation... at least a little MAINTENANCE! I want to give it 1 star so bad... but regardless how god awful I found this place, my kids still had a smile on their faces, that was until their 400 ticket toy burst in the car sending some gross liquid flying on their laps... so not cool. read more

Place was not crowded. Games are outdated and overpriced. Older games, and I mean vintage, were 2 tokens ($0.50) and newer games, last decade, were 4 tokens ($1.00). If your children are under 10, they will not care and have fun. That is why I am giving a two-star instead of a one. Food was poor quality. Pizza prices were as high as gourmet pizza parlors, yet quality was less than frozen. Toppings were singed and unappealing. We had two pizzas for 10 adults and 2 kids. We ended up with 1/2 a pizza left over! I noticed none of the other parties were finishing their pizzas either. Unfortunately, they no longer have the weekend buffet, which would have at least offered some other fare to eat. If you plan on having a party here, make sure it is for kids 10 and under, bring your own cake, and eat before you arrive. read more

I have brought my kids here sometimes per there request. Even though the place is run down and we will not eat the food. Good place to play. Prices for the arcade could be better kind of pricey for what it is. And the area. Wish they would remodel the place and make it nice again! read more

Got beer here and the guy gave it to me with so much foam that when it all went down it was about 3 fingers from the top. Also when he went to pour it he grabs a random cup just sitting on the counter it looked used and there was a fly in it so he then went a got a clean cup. read more

Boardwalk - Hard to pay $5.50 for this beer and horrible pouring like wtf? - Amusement Parks Near Me - El Cajon, California

This place is ok, I'm not a big fan of it but the kids seem to like it cuz of the roller coasters & little rides that they got that are more for like 6 to 10 year old kid rides not for kids 5 or younger. The laser tag was a hit for them too. A lot of the arcade games were "out of order" tho & they don't got much for kids under 5 to do. And they had a couple homeless guys walking in & out just looking around which was kind of odd. And when we first got there there was already a cop there trying to keep the peace between 2 parents at a party (a hint that it was kind of gettho). The staff was friendly tho & the place was pretty chill, pizza was avg. Again I wasn't a big fan of it but the kids seem to really like it & that's all that matters. I'm all bout Chucky Cheese. read more

I took my 2 year old daughter there a few weeks ago. First, the place was filthy--that old greasy feeling that gets on any kids stuff that is not cleaned. Carpets gross. Jungle Gym gross. We put tokens into 2 separate little rides and both did not work. The carousel looked like I could lift it up it was so small, but didn't matter, as there was no staff around to operate it. There was a homeless man walking around inside the place. (Not exaggerating in the least). He had a big bag of empty cans, was disheveled, and was looking in all the coin return slots (obviously not hip to the fact that they use tokens). This is a place where kids are supposed to be able to play in a safe environment. Nobody asked him to leave. There was no staff at all visible, not even at the registers. It's like the place was on crappy autopilot. Never again will I set foot in there or recommend it. read more

This place is horrible don't come here came here Saturday the place was dead maybe 20 people tops. Half the games are out of order and the other half don't work right. This place used to be good but it's just going down. Service is ok not as much fun though Try boomers down the street read more

You know honestly I love the boardwalk. I been a fan of the boardwalk since 2006 and it had always been a awesome place. Better than Chuck E Cheeses. Their soft play gym is nice and always clean. The first 2 years I went there they, they had a ball pit. But they removed it in 2008 and got a makeover. I also love there little attractions. 5 star for the frog bouncer. Roller coaster, and the arcade games they have. Also a extra 5 star for the soft play gym. read more

Place is run down. It's dirty, trash all over, games were down/broken all over the place. The games are EXPENSIVE, so your money does NOT go far at all. The games also don't pay out the tickets that they should; my son got jiped a couple times. I remember this place when I was young and it was great. We will NOT go back. read more

Long lines to buy a wrist band! There are 2 registers but only 1 is used because it does not have the "required software". I suggested to the blond manager guy they should upgrade the 2nd register but he was a total jerk! He 'yells' at the kids who don't have wristbands. The ballast beer is advertised for $5.77 but I paid $8 DOLLARS!!! The cashier said "minimum wage went up." I told her it is illegal to false advertise. There isn't enough staff for the rides & have to wait most of the time. Overall, the place is a dump. read more

You don't go here for the food, mainly for the children to play. This place has potential to be a place for families to regularly go to, but service and food isn't all that good. If this place had great customer service, better food and better cleanliness, it would have lots more business. If you do go here , let it be for your child to have fun, and don't set high expectations. read more

Moe at the pool hall is awesome, great customer service. Makes you feel like a guest.

I like the card system they use instead of coins, but I had trouble actually getting tickets from some of the games. I also felt like my toddler was most definitely going to catch some sort of illness after going, but he didn't! read more

This is my first review, just to WARN EVERYONE of the billards/pool area. MAKE SURE YOU KEEP AN EYE ON WHERE STAFF PLACES YOUR ID!!! Apparently they just hand them out without checking if they are to the right person. They handed my ID to someone or just lost the ID in total. They don't bother to check behind the counter, only flipping thru all the other IDs about 10 times to see if your's will magically appear in thin air. Then they will just start handing you IDs and hoping to get the right one by trial and error. This was just an absolute JOKE. SERIOUS SCAM! Very disappointing with how management handled the situation with half-ass effort to even attempt to look for it or find a simple a solution. Their goal was to kick me out to prevent a scene (which I didn't nor had any intent to do so). The lady running the counter must have been new as she stumbled a lot, could not multitask for her life, did not know how to give the correct change and honestly I'm pretty sure that she had given out the WRONG IDs to multiple people. Felt very betrayed as I do come very often as once or twice a week for their Happy Hour billards. Very livid of the whole situation and would highly advise people to keep an eye out on these guys. BOARDWALK, PLEASE GET BETTER SYSTEM, BETTER MANAGEMENT, AND BETTER TRAINING! THIS IS BULL! read more

It has great potential but really poor management. Many of the younger employees were really nice, management is rude. I attended a birthday party over the weekend. If you're an adult and complaining about the outdated games or maintenance needs for the machines, you should probably re-evaluate your life. My kids love The Boardwalk just as I did when I was a kid. Old games? Try nostalgic. Some of the oldest games in there are always taken and still bring in a ton of revenue for the place. They have a lot of new games as well. Expensive? When you played games that were a nickle or a quarter, gas was probably just over $1 a gallon. This place is always just what I expect. It's a place for my kids to play some games and ride some rides. It's a place for young people to work and earn a paycheck and learn how to be employed. It's a classic indoor amusement park. If anything, the security could be a little tighter or more present. I wish they would bring back miniature golf also. Management seems like a salty bunch sometimes as well. But it's not much of a surprise since they have to deal with dozens of kids running around, and adults complaining about video games. read more

Wow this place has gone downhill since the 90's, I'm actually very surprised this place is still open. Took my nephew bowling then here. We played two games of Lazer Tag, spent 20 on tokens (you can use your credit card or debit card to get coins, best idea EVER). read more

This is probably my 3rd visit here. I came to celebrate my daughters 12 yr old bday early, came with my boyfriend, our son, my daughters step mom, and her brothers from her step moms side. The kids had fun. My daughter won over 1,000 pts. We also had fun bowling. There was a couple games that broke while playing, but that happens at every arcade tho. We ate buffalos wings, chicken tenders, fries, and pizza. I was confused about the buffalo wings. I mean they were good, but it wasnt spicy like buffalo wings or tasted like it. The fries were unsalted and bland. I didnt like the pizza, i mean i think everyone else did, but as far for me, I don't like tasting the marinara sauce. The chicken tenders were good. I am really picky when it comes to outside bathrooms. I will refuse to use the bathrooms if its dirty. Unfortunately, most bathrooms were dirty. I had to go use the farthest bathroom that was at the bowling alley. The food and the bathrooms are the reason why i only put 4 stars. My friend is the supervisor and he took it out of his time, to say hi to us. Other than that I had we had fun and enjoyed ourselves. read more
