We had such a great experience at FUNBOX! I have a 2-year-old, so initially I wasn't sure if this would be a good place for little ones, but I was pleasantly surprised! They have a separate toddler area for kids 5 and under, which was so nice. My little one absolutely LOVED the bouncy areas, obstacles, and slides! There are definitely a lot of older kids running around, so you do have to be mindful and stay close to your little one, but I really appreciated that parents were everywhere watching their kids. Everyone seemed to be really careful around my 2-year-old, even the older kiddos, which made me feel much more comfortable. Parents can also get in and jump around with their little ones, which is a huge plus! They also have free games to play when you need a break from bouncing, and I noticed they have a birthday party area too, which would be such a cute option for a future birthday! We recently hosted our child's birthday party at Fun Box Plaza Bonita, and unfortunately our experience did not match what was promised during the booking process. When we toured the facility, the staff showed us the larger party room and explained that, based on our guest count, we would be assigned that room with the double doors opened for additional space. We were also told that extra chairs would be provided if needed and that a party host would check in with us throughout our two-hour party to make sure everything was running smoothly. However, on the day of the party, we were placed in one of the smaller rooms in the back. The room was far too small for our guests, and even Cosmo, the mascot, barely had enough space to come in and interact with everyone. We also never received the extra chairs that had been discussed during booking. Another issue was the refrigerator in our party room. It was broken and leaking water, so none of our drinks stayed cold throughout the event. We also ran out of plates, forks, and napkins multiple times. Because we couldn't find our party host, we had to borrow supplies from other empty party rooms ourselves. Our party host only came by three times: once to show us the room, once when Cosmo made an appearance, and once at the end for cleanup. Other than that, we had little to no assistance during the party. The play area itself is fun, super cute, party rooms are adorable and the kids had a great time. However, the party experience was very disappointing, especially considering the cost. Better communication, proper room assignments, functioning equipment, and attentive hosting would have made a significant difference. Definitely appreciated the noise level in here it was not crazy chaotic and they had the music just at the right level. Glad something like this exist in our neighborhood. Fun Box in National City had me feeling a little mixed. First off, the space is definitely smaller than I expected. The toddler area in particular was really underwhelming. It kind of felt like they just threw some blocks in there and called it a day. For little ones, I wish there was more variety to actually keep them engaged. The jumper area is a decent size, but again I had this vision it was going to be huge and it just wasn't giving that. Kids were going wild, as expected, so I stayed out while my spouse handled that chaos One thing I noticed though, a lot of parents were sitting inside certain parts of the jumper, which kind of blocked off areas and you could tell kids were avoiding those spots. They do have free arcade style game machines which is a nice touch, but that area gets crowded fast. Now the restrooms... yikes. For a newer place, I was honestly surprised at how dirty they were. Almost every stall needed attention. No toilet paper, no liners, just not maintained well at all. That part was a big disappointment. On a positive note, the party rooms actually look really nice and I can see this being a good birthday spot. But seating overall is limited, and the shoe storage fills up quick, so that's something to keep in mind. Overall, my kids did have fun, so that's what matters most. But they did say it felt a little scary with how many kids were running around nonstop. Not a terrible experience, just not as impressive as I was expecting. Had my daughter's birthday here as part of the grand opening birthday promo. I almost regretted it from the moment I booked. I had a few questions regarding my booking and immediately emailed the party email listed. No response. I waited a day or two and attempted calling multiple times across the span of 3-4 days. No answer, no response on both calls and emails. I finally drove over to ask my questions and spoke directly to the manager who was assisting at the front desk. When I mentioned that nobody was answering both my calls and emails, there was no apology--just simply a, "oh yeah, we've been having a hard time responding to voicemails and emails..." oh? Ok. Day of party, the staff really only checked in for the initial check in and at the end when it was time to sing. No help setting up, no check ins, no structured activity, the fridge had old crusted liquid inside. Had a great time this evening. My daughter didn't want to leave and neither did I!! There's lots of fun little obstacles in the jump house as well as slides. And I mean the whole thing is inflated so you're just jumping around to the next activity. They have little arcade games as well that are free which was nice cause as my daughter is inside jumping my husband and I could partake in the games. Nice to have something to do while waiting instead of just sitting around. Noise level not terrible we came on a Sunday for the 7:30 jump session and it wasn't super busy or packed in the play areas. Pricing is fair we paid $43. For just my daughter and I including the required socks, For 1 hour and 30 minutes. Which is more than enough time I was worn out after 15 minutes in there and I don't have to be the bad guy when I tell my daughter it's time to go because times up. Toddler zone was good size for littles but no slides or anything's just blocks they could possibly add a little more things for younger ones to do. Lots of public seating and the birthday rooms looked nice and good sized as well. I'd definitely consider throwing a birthday party here. We came here for a birthday party and WOW! Just WOW! My son is autistic and he absolutely enjoyed himself. I love all of the colors, the aesthetic's and the amount of activities you can do. What an amazing place for kids to unwind. I appreciate the staff who were very helpful and kind. They pay attention to the kid's to ensure safety. I took my kids here while we are on vacation to SD on spring break. This place was very clean very big had enough room for everyone. My kids thoroughly enjoyed their time and it was nice to have somewhere for them to get all their jollies out. My only suggestion for this place is that maybe they should do something or add a little bit more to the toddler section. It wasn't very fun for mine because all they had were basically blocks to play with. I would take them back. My son didn't want to leave. read more

BEWARE Price Gouging!! I had a very frustrating experience trying to book my son's birthday party at Fun Box in National City and want to warn others. Two days ago, I attempted to book a Premium Birthday Party "Grand Opening Special" advertised at $259 (regularly $579), with a promotion valid until 4/20/26. I even took a screenshot because the price influenced my decision. However, the website kept crashing during checkout, preventing me from completing the booking. When I checked again shortly after and the next day, the same package had jumped to $579 (now shown as a "sale" from $679). That's a $300+ increase within hours, despite the promotion still being advertised. This raises concerns about inconsistent and misleading pricing, as well as an advertised promotion that doesn't match actual pricing. I contacted management via email and voicemail but received no response. Overall, this feels like false advertising, poor customer service, and an unreliable booking system. I recommend taking screenshots and proceeding with caution, as prices may not be honored. Unfortunately, my son is now disappointed because the event is no longer affordable. Today I went to FunBox National City with my son for the first time. He was so excited to experience everything, but unfortunately we encountered terrible customer service from the moment we arrived. To start, the place was extremely disorganized. I waited patiently in the regular line for over 15 minutes with no help at all. After being ignored, I decided to ask for assistance in the party line instead. I waited another 15 minutes just to speak to someone, only to be approached by the manager. When I explained that I had already been waiting for a long time and just needed help, he told me to move to the back because the party line had priority. I explained that I had already waited patiently, but he showed no concern or willingness to help. Because of the horrible customer service, I decided to leave, which completely broke my son's heart. Very disappointing experience. I do not recommend this place and will never be coming back. read more

This is great if you're already visiting the mall. We paid for 90 minutes yet the staff called my child's wristband color after 75 minutes. I believe it has something to do with the staff needing time to clean between guest visits, yet I did not see any of the staff cleaning in any of the areas being used. We paid for 90 minutes, so I allowed my child to play for 90 minutes. Also, the restrooms are along the back wall on the opposite side of the building -- a bit of a walk. Lastly, a military discount would have been much appreciated. For a few dollars more, we will continue going to Party City where the restrooms are close (and clean), a military discount is offered, and my child can play all day. read more

What an amazing place. So well organized, clean and ambiance for not just the kids but parents and grandparents was amazing. The people operating and working are so friendly, dedicated to their job and looking out for everyone. I didn't once see anyone just on their cellphone blowing off their job.
