I used Farren in the past, she was amazing, sent her a 500.00 deposit for training for my new lab, upon talking with her I was honest and told her I had lost my 6 year old lab to parvo...she had pups at her home and we decided it was best not to bring my new pup to her facility fearing the possibility of passing the nasty disease to her unvaccinated babies...we thought it would be best to wait, even though my new girl,was parvo free and fully vaccinate...she offered a refund and I just said...I guess we wait, well as time in going on and she wouldn't take my girl for at least 8 weeks, we'll time is moving forward and my girl is getting set in her ways, I opted to take the refund she offered, well she refused to give me back my 500.00 deposit, after she offered it to me, I have found another facitto take my girl and will never use or recommend Farren to anyone, it's snotty, I was honest and wanted to keep her litter of poodles safe, I could have not been honest and taken the chance on giving her pups the parvo virus, but I would not do that, I was honest, she denied to refund me...lesson learned, I will not go down without a fight, even if I lose in court, I will waste her time going to court...not a good business ethic, taking money for services not rendered, even after a refund was offered...I DONT RECOMMENDED THIS SHADY ESTABLISHMENT... Words cannot describe how amazing Farren is..3 years ago i adopted two Australian Shepard mixes from the pound..I fell in love with them but what i wasnt expecting was all the emotional issue associated with abused shelter dogs..I was beside my self and didnt know what to do with my out of control, hyper, destructive but loving puppies. They were so out of control that i couldnt take them out at the same time, they would bolt in different directions..As much as i loved my dogs i couldnt have them in the house or around people since they wanted to jump all over them in a playful way non aggressive but still difficult to handle..when you would try to scold them they would roll over and submissively release their bladders.. it was a circle of frustration....One day by chance or maybe by fate i had taken one of my dogs to the local dog part..Farren was in the middle of a session with another client..i was so impressed so after wards i approached her and told her what was going on. Farren came to my house and assessed my dogs it was like she could talk to them ( i know crazy)!!!!! She explained to me all of the reasons behind there behavior,, Farren also came up with a game plan for each of my dogs based on their individual personalities and needs..She did not use a one size fits all training method..She was so patient and sympathetic to my needs as well..She trained my dogs and trained me..They are now functioning members of our family i can take them anywhere, on and off leash and around any dogs or people with out problems..I still use Board N Behave for boarding and grooming..Its the only place i use and she is the only person i trust read more

There is a power greater than ourselves- as I have witnessed in being introduced to Ferran at Board n Behave- through my dog rescue lady. I had adopted a dog several months back as a rescue-. He was the smartest fella ever- however began to show and struggle with dominance issues- and it concerned me. I had many sleepless nights as I wanted to work with him- and give him the best format and foundation to have a wonderful life. After much conversation with Ferran- who took the time to listen- to ask qualifying questions- and to pinpoint where the behavior may be originating from- I knew then she was someone who cares above and beyond. Days later I met her at her facility- and my pal was with me. Within 20 minutes he started showing some dominate behavior- and in a dog whisperer way- she was able to calm him down- and let him know that behavior was not acceptable. I knew them- my meeting Ferran was no accident. This is the person and culture that he needed to be in. For his greater good- I opted to release him to her- and she has been working with him with great progress and results. It was a heartbreaking process- made easier in knowing I was letting my pal go and train with Ferran and then be placed in a forever home. I have a senior dog (Zion) with many issues; blind, mostly deaf, and diabetic (needing special feeding and two shots a day) to name a few. We had been searching for a place to board our dog for over two months. Since we recently had to euthanize our other dog we were sensitive to Zion's care. Also, due to her special needs we have to be picky about where we leave her. We checked out every possibility with a 100mile radius, seriously we were willing to drive, but nothing seemed adequate, some were scarey. When we finally found Farren just a few weeks before our trip we were hopeful. When I spoke to her over the phone she sounded too good to be true. We attended a meet and greet where Farren said everything I needed to hear and Zion seemed cautiously comfortable. We scheduled for a day visit the week before the trip to try it out, and Zion came home looking good. I was still worried but becoming at ease. I left for my trip feeling confident. While away Farren sent me text messages and a picture, which made the trip so much better because my heart was at ease. When we returned Zion was happy and beyond well taken care of. We think her getting to be around other dogs in a safe manner and extra attention helped her with her grief over loosing her companion of 14 years. She seemed happier then when we left. read more

I first met Farren when we went to visit my dog (Max) but at the time was up for adoption. With the three sessions we did with him, Farren taught us all about what he had been through in the past and also how remarkable of a dog he was and how he learned so much from her. As soon as me and Max met it was like a dad and son meeting for the first time ever. I knew right then he was perfect for me. Throughout the time of having Max I experienced some personal issues during deployment in which Max was taken from me and put into a shelter in Texas for no reason whatsoever. That being said I immediately called Farren because I was not sure what to do from that point on. She was so helpful and worked with me through the ENTIRE situation all the way down until the hour he got back home to San Diego with me. I cannot even tell you how much devotion and loyalty she had to me and my adopted dog. Farren is not just a trainer but also considered a great friend. We were so lucky to have been connected with Farren. We have a lab, Max who was the Marely puppy to a T from the movie Marley and Me. I think they modeled that movie after Max. Max had issues with the hose when we watered, jumping and pawing people in the pool, pulling us on walks, barking and acting crazy around other dogs (mostly because he was just too excited). He also liked to to steal items from people and run away as fast as he could with the treasure. Farren helped Max and mainly trained us on how to work with and train Max in our everyday life. We loved Max, but we were so frustrated and didn't know what to do. Everyday I hear her voice in my head when I continue the training with Max. Now he plays in the pool, comes with us to the snow and we can water the backyard in peace. Max is my shadow and I love him and having him in our family. I continue to be impressed by Farren's continued professional growth and enthusiasm for her industry. I use her expertise with my aging dogs and have not once had any issues with her advice. When I came home to my senior dog having what I thought was a stroke, I called the vet and I called Farren. Farren met me at the ER Vet and stayed with us until the vet determined that it was truly a case of "old dog" vertigo. She offered to help me care for my senior girl and I am so thankful that she did. That dog got more care than I was able to give at that time since my business could not take a back seat right then. Farren Mahone is excellent with dogs, training and boarding. I recently completed her obedience class with my newly adopted dog, Georgia. In all the years that I have had dogs and training classes, this was by far the best experience I have ever had. Unlike other classes where an exuberant dog is separated from the group so as not to cause problems or distraction, Farren deals with them straight on. If it becomes necessary, she always checks with the owner before she applies any firm correction. She takes the extra time to include socialization, which I found to be extremely helpful. Although I have not had to use her boarding services, I would not hesitate to use her facilities. All the dogs under her care appear healthy, happy, and have a wonderful bond with her. Farren has been very helpful with our dog Jasmine. Jasmine has not been able to be around people since we adopted her..we were worried that she would bite when people came over to visit and would have to put her in a kennel until our company left.she has actually lunged and bit at people. The first day Farren came to the house.Jasmine lunged and bit at her. She Quickly corrected her.She came up with a plan....we had a lot of work ahead of us, but it was working....I made a follow up appointment at her facility and was surprised to see Jasmine jump into her lap. she really knows what she's doing. Farren came highly recommended. Our one year old soft coated Wheaton Terrier had lived among a family in crisis and chaos. My family and my extended family were able to enjoy him and I was able to relax and enjoy my Christmas. We have tried different boarding places, training places and doggie day cares since our first dog over 16 years ago. Our dog had a traumatic experience in her first home and has had a very difficult time with separation anxiety since we adopted her.
