Took our two dogs to Harvey The Groomers today and had a great experience. One of our dogs is an Aussie puppy and the other an older long hair chihuahua. He did a great cut on both of our dogs and paid attention to details. I wanted them Summer cuts and they came out great. Pricing was fair and scheduling was not too far out like the others. I would recommend this groomer and will be using them in the future.

I found Harvey The Groomer by recommendations of neighbors. When I contacted him, he was quick to respond and was able to fit us in within a reasonable timeframe. He was also accommodating to my work schedule. I dropped them off before work and picked them up during lunch break. They came out looking great, exactly as I had asked! We recommend Harvey and will be returning!

I found Harvey through Facebook. He had awesome recommendations, he's close to home and I thought to give him a try. I'm so happy I did! He did a great job on my girl Charlee. I will definitely be back.

He weighs about 90lbs and struggles with reactivity (excitement and pulling when he sees other dogs/people) and he did not consistently obey commands (especially "heel"). Elaine was patient, consistent, and very communicative. She took the time to ask us what issues we wanted to focus on, and then was able to come up with a highly effective training on the spot. She was able to get him to follow commands that even surprised us (including getting him to "place" onto a picnic table). And by the end of the session, we walked him around and had zero issues with pulling or reactivity, even when there were dogs and kids nearby. It was impressive to see so much progress in such a short time. Throughout the process, she explained everything she was doing, including the specific steps AND the purpose. She answered ALL of my questions with thoughtful and kind responses. And throughout the whole experience, she was extremely friendly. I would highly recommend her.

Taking her out in public was stressful, she would shake, bark and become very reactive out of fear, which in turn made us anxious too. From the very first call with Manny at Off Leash K9 Training, we knew he was the right fit. He genuinely cared about both our dog and us, and took the time to thoroughly answer all of our questions, which gave us so much confidence moving forward. Throughout the training, Manny kept us updated daily with photos and videos, which was incredibly reassuring and exciting to see her progress. After 4 weeks, our Raven girl is truly transformed. She's so much more confident, calm, and equipped with amazing tools and commands that have made a huge difference in her behavior. We are beyond grateful for the care, dedication, and expertise Manny put into working with Raven. We can't thank him enough and are so excited to continue building on everything she's learned. This is just the beginning! Highly recommend!!!

My Chinese Crested, Hooper, had previous training but was still struggling with reactivity and socialization. I appreciated that Farren didn't push an expensive board and train--she assessed Hooper personally and offered private sessions that fit my budget. After just one session, I already saw progress. Over five sessions, both Hooper and I were trained--because we all know training the human is just as important! A month later, I adopted another dog, Bodie, and brought both pups to Farren's daycare to continue Hooper's socialization. We also did additional public training sessions, which were incredibly helpful. Hooper is now more confident and manageable! Farren has also been working directly with Bodie, helping him learn basic obedience and improve his behavior--especially with things like staying safely in the car instead of bolting into the street. His progress has been amazing. Farren is not just a great trainer, but also understands dog behavior on a deeper level. Her facility is clean, organized, and I fully trust leaving my dogs in her care. I highly recommend Board N Behave for training, daycare, and/or boarding!

Don't Believe the False Facebook Posts - Epic Dog Academy Is the Real Deal…read more I need to share my experience because there's a lot of misinformation going around about Epic Dog Academy. If you've seen those Facebook posts linking them to animal abuse - please, don't believe them. I fell for those rumors myself at first, and I want to make sure no one else makes the same mistake. I had signed my dog, Obi-Wan, up for the two-week training program and was so excited. But right after I told a friend, she sent me a Facebook group filled with terrible claims about EDA. I panicked and immediately called to cancel. Vincent, the owner, was incredibly understanding and patient. He explained that all those claims were false and even showed me proof - including records exposing the people behind the posts as having serious legal and credibility issues, but even though I already paid and signed all the paperwork - he still immediately refunded me my payment to give me time to do additional research. This is something he could have pushed back on but didn't, which really showed me what a kind and understanding business this was. Even so, I made sure to do my own research before forming any opinions. What I found was truly alarming: the main individual behind that Facebook group has a documented history of serious issues, including animal cruelty charges (all public record). His daughter once briefly worked with Vince - the owner of Epic Dog Academy - many years ago at a completely separate business. Shortly after, Vince left to establish Epic Dog Academy with his wife, Olivia. To be clear, the two individuals who now run that Facebook group have no real connection to Epic Dog Academy. The false claims they're spreading about the owner are completely unfounded and unsupported by any evidence, plus most of the negative comments appear to come from people associated with them. Once I realized the truth, I re-enrolled Obi-Wan - this time in their day training program. I drop him off in the morning and pick him up in the afternoon. It gave me total peace of mind to see him daily, and I can confidently say that not only is he perfectly fine - he's thriving. The results have been beyond my expectations. Obi-Wan listens better than ever, he's happier, and he actually gets excited to go every morning. Erin, his trainer, is absolutely phenomenal. She's patient, knowledgeable, and keeps me updated every day with photos and progress reports through their app. Christy at the front desk is another gem - her warmth and understanding make every drop-off and pick-up a breeze. Every single person I've interacted with at Epic Dog Academy truly loves what they do, and it shows. They treat every dog like their own. I can say with complete confidence that my dog is safe, happy, and receiving the best possible training here. Please do yourself a favor - don't let false online rumors stop you from giving EDA a chance. Check things out for yourself. I'm so glad I did, because Epic Dog Academy has completely transformed my dog's behavior and confidence. It's been worth every single penny (and I signed up for the Honor program!) I have given EDA permission to share my number with anyone who is hesitant to sign up. I'd be happy to share my experience with you if needed. -- Pictures of Obi-Wan were sent to me through the EDA app during his day training!

I am a mobility disabled senior with balance issues resulting from a serious accident many years…read moreago. The issues become more disabling with age. Breaking my ankle recently escalated the problems. I could see the need for assistance in the near future. Began searching for obtaining a mobility service dog. Only a few agencies in Calif. train dogs for this disability and their wait list for starting the program was upwards of 4 years. I was planning to use my 2 yr old Black Lab. Since I had "hit dead-ends" in my search, I decided to at least look for some obedience training for the dog. After interviewing several trainers in my area, I found Erin to be my choice. I met with her to discuss the training and discovered that she had experience in training mobility service dogs! She was a bit hesitant to commit to the training and wanted to evaluate my dog to see if she had the right temperament...it seemed that she did! I signed up for the 3 week board and train program, with the understanding that basic obedience was would be addressed as well as introducing some service dog training to see how the dog performed. My dog seemed to be a good candidate for becoming a mobility service dog. We have continued with the training taking part in classes, private sessions, and another 2 week board and train session. Erin has helped me pick out equipment, met me in public places to train, and we have passed the CGC and PAT tests. Lots more training to do, but Dynamite Dogs has us on the right track! All the training is positive, and my dog loves coming to the facility and interacting with all the trainers! Thank You Erin and Paul!

Wow, my pup is so different, its not just the pup but how I Interact with the pup to give the pup…read moreit's best chance at understanding this world and rules there in. I'm a few weeks in my pup is almost off the chain literally. Here is the honest truth about FA she teaches you and your pet a life long dance. People have been coming up to me and asking where I got my mini-dog. Ha, that's no mini that's a pup. Then I point to her paws. They say OMG look at her paws how is she so well behaved. When I tell them how old she is they are like that's insane. Now she has her bad days but for the most part I have a path for mutual understanding. How to put this it's like a family dog that has skills. Real skills. FA is always on time like set your watch on time. She has never ever given my pup a treat. Most of the Training sessions I saw when I was shopping around where treat based. My dog would get diabetes before learned how to sit. They say true results and that's what I wanted. I was Referred to Fabiola Alviso by a staff member at my Local veterinarian clinic. I met with her and her Dog. (Her dog has an amazing thick coat I had never felt a coat like that. FA has a deep backstory with pets. A story that most of us would never work with large aggressive dogs again. She decided to use her situation as Motivation so that dogs and humans could live better lives together. She has a pet-vet-nursing background as well. At some point she decided she would go into full time Dog training and stepped away from the clinics. I met with her and of course my pup likes her and that's fine and all but I didn't call her to play with my dog. She very quickly turned the tables and went into "She Alpha God of Pets" my pup was like oh wait what-the-what. I decided to get the level 2 on/off Leash as level two also has some other features. I purchased a leather leash because I wanted one and her price was fair. The only thing that did not sit well with me was how she went over the contract. I don't feel some of the points in it needed to be over looked or changed. I would have started with full stars if this was clear. I reached out for Clarification and will update as I go. Level 2 is a 12 Weeks and runs around $2100 there are 2 bits of Training gear a leash and a set of collars that they suggest. The leash was $35 and so was the collar. Those are Optional. If her training is top-shelf the payment will be fair. If she really knocks it out of the park it would be a deal. Anything less it would be a waste of time and money. I'll update through the pr

Please consider if this is the best training method for your dog prior to booking with Lorenzo Dog…read moreTraining. I have a newly adopted 2 year old Great Dane, and we had a consult with a trainer at Lorenzo Dog Training in San Diego that left me very dissatisfied and concerned about the training tactics that were being taught and used on my dog, including aggressive jerking and whipping force by way of her head and neck with a leash and choke collar. My dog is highly sensitive due to her abuse and neglectful past. The physically forceful interventions sent my dog into a fight or flight response, exhibiting signs of flight then freezing by way of trying to flee, yelping, rigid body tone with excessive shaking, hyper-vigilance, and flinching, all of which worsened as the trainer continued to aggressively yank her despite my dogs clear fearful state. The next day, my dog did not eat, remained hyper-vigilant, and skittish from the slightest noises or movement, which is exactly how she behaved when we first adopted her but had previously disappeared prior to our training consult with Lorenzo Dog training. As a previous nurse and current doctor, considering a strictly biological and physiological perspective, the fear modality, especially for already anxious and fearful pups, is ineffective simply by the physiological process of the brain. Like with any human, dog, or animal, a fight or flight response stemming from the amygdala floods the brain and body with neurotransmitters restricting their ability to access executive functioning regions of their frontal and temporal lobes necessary for learning and critical thinking. Although aggressive physical methods may work for some dogs with a higher threshold for fear and anxiety, allowing them to think and process learning effectively, the style is unfit for all. I put my trust in the licensed dog trainer to have the knowledge and critical thinking skills necessary to recognize my dog's emotional state to then modify her own training tactics instead of continuing to apply more force to her head and neck while my dog continued to exhibit signs of a heightened sympathetic nervous system response. The trainer described the behavioral modification interventions used as teaching my dog to respect me. However, it was clear there was no respect gained and only fear. I want my dog to respect and trust me, I do not want her to fear me. Although using fear and force is quick and effective, it is not the only option to gain your pup's respect and obedience. I understand that some people may prefer that form of training and relationship with their dog; however, I believe in using the least restrictive measures to facilitate behavioral modification and prospering a positive and mutually respectful environment. My dog has been progressing well with other trainers using positive reinforcement, consistency with boundary management, and other severely less forceful physical prompts. I understand that these tactics may take longer to achieve the desired behavioral goals; however, like with any behavioral modification, it takes time and patience, which I plan to give her. Again, I highly recommend looking into the tactics used at Lorenzo Dog Training before determining if these interventions align with you and your doggies goals.
