My daughter and I have been going to BMT for about 10 years. Overall it is the best in Plano out of all of the places I have tried. All the employees are super sweet and I always feel welcomed. I went in for the first time since it was a recommended place . Got dio nails and change of polish which they said they had a matching color and it's not matching but I'm OK with it . The toe nails are done bad , a toe nail isn't cut straight. The polish she used was not smooth The dip work was not great . I learnt to do my nails during COVID and I do them sometimes but with three little It's just not very convenient so I opt for going to get them done . I could've done a better job They didn't file properly close the cuticle , it's been two days and I can already see some of that lifting I paid $75 dls for something that it's not close to good will never go back there. I was on the phone for most of the duration I feel like they got offended? I mean I had to make phone calls it's " my me time" and I left they just wanted me out of there , not sure why it has so many good reviews maybe it it was just me but I am sure I didn't do a thing to be rude except being on the phone , which I had to be at the time . read more

I just happened upon this gem on a Saturday morning. The staff is polite and calm. There's not a ton of chatter between the employees which helps you relax and listen to the soft instrumental music they are playing. They have no TVs and the spa is very clean and organized. This helps provide a calm and serene experience. I usually get a gel pedicure so that it lasts a long time. This means that when it's time to get a new one the other one must be removed. This is the first place I have been to where they used a dremel tool to facilitate that process to avoid having to oversoak my previous gel pedicure in acetone too long. It made me feel as of better care was being taken to my nails. And oh my gosh they have the best massage chairs. These are the Human Touch brand ones that are REALLY good. The owner, Helen, is attentive and polite. She's engaged and working with clients and her employees appear to be enjoying their work too. I'll definitely be back as I've not found a relaxing location like this for pedicures without going to a high end spa. read more

I love this place. Helen and her sister Ann are the sweetest people and such hard workers. Helen even went to my mom's house for her "last manicure" before she left this earth. She did this when the salon my mom used would not. Mom wasn't even a client of Helen's. I will never ever forget this unselfish act of kindness. They do a great job and if you make an appointment they always have your spot saved, no excessive waiting. I won't see anyone else when I get dip because it lasts FOREVER and always looks clean. I was surprised to see the 2 bad reviews from this week. :( I have been getting artificial nails and pedicures in Plano for almost 20 years and BMT has been my salon since they opened in 2012. I can honestly tell you that BMT has by far been the best place I have been too. From the friendly staff, the clean, organized salon, to the quality of work. I am a type A, attention to detail, kind of girl so that is saying a lot! :) I would suggest that the ladies who had a bad experience go back and talk to Helen (the owner) about your visit and I promise she will make things right. She cares about her customers and you are not just a "pedicure". Businesses can only learn from hearing from customers so then they can make necessary changes to make things better. read more

This place is so calm and serene. A relaxing atmosphere (truly a spa environment) with polite and very talented staff. The #2 is $35 and includes a sea salt scrub, foot mask, and hot stone massage - you can't beat it!! If you go when it's slow, expect an extra long foot massage. Been here twice now and each time has been just great. The first time was for their grand opening back in January, where they were running $20 pedicures (regular price is $25). The second time was after a friend and I were slighted at Nails in Time a few doors down. Okay so, yes, their pedicures are $3 more than Nails in Time, but I'm willing to pay that for well-painted nails (that don't overflow onto my skin), POLITE staff (seriously some of the most gracious nail technicians I've met), and that little extra touch (they ask you if you'd like a beverage and can choose from bottled water, tea, or soda). An added plus (but also likely because they just opened) is that all their beauty magazines are up to date--no outdated fashion tips from 2010 here. Very uncomfortable experience! I was a walk-in and perhaps this salon prefers their regular customers because there was an extreme lack of customer service. I was told about this new nail technique (NexGen) at work and was excited to find a salon with great reviews nearby that offered this service. I went in and asked for NexGen nails. I was seated immediately which was great. I waited a couple of minutes before being asked to move to a different station. No problem! This was not my first manicure but my first NexGen manicure so I did a bit of research online before I headed out to the nail salon. First, the male manicurist began drilling my nails once he sat down. It didn't hit me until he'd finished one hand that he never asked me to wash my hands. The NexGen website specifically states "Before beginning the NexGen process, it is important that your client sanitize their hands". He also did not push back the cuticles when he was prepping my nails. Second, there was no dialogue. The manicurist didn't bother to introduce himself or say "hi, how are you". He barely asked me direct questions. He took out a box of acrylic nails and started to fit my nails for them until I said no, I am not interested. He gave me a look before packing the nails back in the box. He didn't want to clip my nails to make them even for some reason. Yes, I know my nails are not super long but they are long enough for clipping and shaping. Third, he was messy when applying the base coat because there was powder stuck to the skin on my thumbs. I had to ask him twice to remove it. He was NOT gentle in pulling it off. I also didn't know when he had completed the manicure process. I saw that applied the activator and finishing gel but I was not asked to wash or rinse by hands after he buffed. He told me to wait for 5 minutes. I waited for 10 minutes while he worked on another client. I assumed that he was finished with my manicure so I stood up and headed to the counter to pay. After a minute or so, he came over, wiped down each nail and charged me $35. I was at the salon for about 35 -40 minutes. During that time three customers entered. After each of them were seated, I noticed a young lady asked them if they wanted something to drink and brought them either a bottle water or a glass of wine. I was never asked if I was thirsty, parched, dehydrated or simply in need of a drink after a long day at work. There was even a lady who came from the back asking customers who didn't already have a beverage if they wanted something to drink. Well, every customer except me. Basically I felt COMPLETELY ignored. This was the most uncomfortable, unwelcoming and unsanitary experience I have had at a nail salon in my life. I will DEFINITELY not return to this salon. I am praying to God I don't become a nail horror story because of the lack of following proper sanitation procedures. read more

I've been here twice now and won't be going back. I was referred by a friend and thought there would be no issues since this is her regular place. But, on both occasions now I've had messy nails walking out. The first time I had gel nails and the second time they urged me to try the NexGen powder nails. Is it too much to ask that if there is polish/powder on anything but the nail that you go back over and clean it up? With the NexGen nails I was told I had to wait 5 minutes for the polish to dry and after 10 minutes and no one coming back to check on me, I got up to leave. When paying I commented that the nails looked messy and was told that they are supposed to follow up at the end with cuticle oil. Ok. But even after that was done they still didn't look better. I have a mixed review. I went in for a mani/pedi today. The pedi was absolutely amazing! The guy that did it was very thorough and careful with my feet. He left my nails and feet looking and feeling amazing. The guy that dos my manicure was horrible though. I asked for acrylic nails and I wanted them to look natural and it was more like he didn't finish them! You can see how the top is rugged when it should be soft and shiny. He also left all my cuticles looking disastrous!! And when I asked him if he could fix it he cut them without putting any cuticle softener and he cut me! You can see it in my ring finger. So, I don't know I guess it depends on who you get to do your nails but in my opinion they should have way better customer service. I wouldn't go back to this place... read more

I am beyond disappointed with this place. To start, my mother and I have been coming here since they opened so about 5 years. I just came in to get my nails done and a pedicure and I was seated and placed in a pedi chair somewhat quickly, however it wasn't for another hour and a half until they actually began to do my nails. AN HOUR AND A HALF. I should also mention that people who came in after me were being taken care of before me. I understand if they have appointments, but tell me when I come in that you have a lot of appointments--don't sit me and make me wait for almost 2 hours!! So they finally began to do my nails and after they finished I had been there for over two hours. My nails looked fine, and when I went to check out the owner gave me $5 dollars off. Apparently the customer loyalty from my mother and I for the past 5 years was only was worth a meaningful $5 off. Pathetic. Unfortunately the story does not end there. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE AND I LET IT GO. The time before this they took over two hours, except that time I got no discount and this time I only got $5 off for putting up with TERRIBLE service. If you're asking why I came back after I got slow service the first time, I'm asking myself the same thing. They do a good job with my nails and it's only til recently that they've been so slow, so I thought it would be a one time occurrence. This place does not value their longtime guests whatsoever and has unreasonably slow service, don't waste your time here. Very Disappointing!!! I've gone here twice and won't be going back! My first visit was a 4 star experience, I think because I was the only customer there. The second time, I asked for and was charged $10 more, for the same mani/pedi option, but was rushed through in half the time. To make matters worse, I had the same girl do my pedicure both times. My polish was chipping off in big flakes by the end of the night!! I didn't do anything that would cause that to happen! In all my years of getting pedicures ( I'm 36) I've NEVER had that happen!! The employes were also very chatty among themselves and taking calls on their cell phones which I find rude and disruptive to customers. If I'm paying $85 for a mani/pedi, it should be thorough and I shouldn't have to wait for my nail tech to take personal calls!! read more

I really like this place. Luckily, I discovered them within a year of opening and I have been coming back ever since. I generally come here to get manicures, pink & white nails, and pedicures. The good: clean, pleasant, quiet atmosphere. The employees are very polite. Helen does a fantastic job with pink and whites. I asked her to make them super thin and she did (and they did not break). They offer several pedicure options, although I opt for the most basic usually. Sometimes you can just walk in and get seen without an appointment. Lately they have been getting busy, however, so I generally call in advance to see what the wait time is. The bad: I once got a gel manicure here and it was horrible. Many bubbles appeared under the gel after I left and it looked uneven. I ended up removing it myself with acetone, it was so bad. I cannot remember the name of the employee who did the gel manicure, but she seemed to be the only one in the place who was assigned to do them. Also, when you get a pink and white refill, it's just that: a refill. It's not remade from scratch like some other salons do. Therefore, if you like the darker pink color for yours, it has a tendency to show through. Note that the name of this salon is a bit confusing. If you try to Google it, it comes up as "Forever Nail & Spa", not BMT. P.S. There is one review of this place in this list that I don't think is attached to the correct salon, by Jamye O. There are several salons in this area, so I think she may be referring to another one. I am shocked at the negative reviews. It makes me wonder if these are jealous competitors trying to hurt BMT'S business. They have had my business for years and I have never witnessed this bad treatment of customers. What they do is amazing. It does take a little time for a job well done, not slap-dashed through, and has always been perfect. I enjoy the massage chair and feel it is worth the trip alone! Also, the hygiene practiced is commendable. A new liner is put in the foot spa each time. All instruments have been sterilized. The floors and fixtures are spotless. They always offer a free drink: water, soda, wine and you can ask for more. Some things said in the negative reviews just are not true. Check them out yourself. Today was the first time I visited BMT. I must say I was disappointed. First I waited a while to be seen. Then the gentleman that did my manicure did not know how to clip the cuticle nor file my nails. My nails were very uneven. When I asked him to make them all look the same he didn't seem to understand. Then he attempted to fix them. I told him once again, no good, ge then gave me the file and walked away. When I told the girl that I was not happy with my manicure she mentioned that the manager was not in. The girl saw that he gave me the file. When I brought that up she said he must of not understood.
