I'd give it zero stars. Came in after visiting a friend, I moved from the area to the beach, but I come visit my best friend regularly and pass this place all the time. My son and I left, craving boba, boba shops are typically closed by like 9-10pm but I saw this place empty but with beaming lights and figured to stop. I ordered raspberry milk and strawberry lemonade and while honing down my fussy, sleepy 5 yo, I realized what I thought was strawberry(because a lot of the drink pictures had fruit like lychee and lemon... so I figured at first the few dots I saw behind the grimy plastic hanging from the ceiling(post covid haha) were from strawberries) were actually seeds. The drink was dark red. I say this because this led to part of my issue. When I started examining another menu off to the side while waiting for our drinks, I noticed those were not in fact strawberry/strawberry seeds. I didn't know what kind of seeds they were, chia... idk. So as I was going to ask them to keep them out, he was already done making our drinks. I have a picky 5 year old, he would never drink it. He loves strawberry lemonade but typical strawberry lemonade doesn't have added seeds. So as I grabbed our order I checked and sure enough there was seeds, I asked what kind of seeds they were, they said basil, I said can you take them off. Immediately I was met with ignorance and immaturity. Like he was looking for a fight. So pathetic. Anyway, even though I saw the attitude and the attack, I just smiled and tried to deescalate the situation but still ask for help resolving the issue. Like I'm chill, I don't do conflict, hence I made sure there was none here. And typically, good people, when they see people are respectable, even if they're irritated they meet them half way. I was just met with more ignorance. He said duh you see the picture right there. I said the seeds are small and not a lot. Strawberry lemonade doesn't typically have seeds, I didn't know. The menu doesn't say seeds... I mean shoot I would've been ok even if they just scooped the top off because the seeds all float, I didn't need a full replacement, but normally if your drink isn't to your liking businesses replace them. I'm easy to work with, it's no big deal. I know I realized it late but I just asked if they could help amend the issue. He offered a refund like it was an insult haha, I said absolutely. If they're going to act like trash, I want none of it. I wish I'd gotten a refund for my other drink though, the raspberry milk, which tasted like raspberry chocolate/mocha. It was disgusting, despite them leaving me with a nasty taste because of their poor attitude, it genuinely did not taste good, to me. But we vote with our money, in what we buy and who we buy from. I've since told my friend and a few people in the area about this and they're on board with not going there again, if they had. I get that it was late, and maybe they had a rough day, but I definitely didn't deserve that. Was so uncalled for, they even stood at the door watching me take off as if I was gonna do something. Ew, get over yourselves. I honestly feel gaslit, the amount of anger was uncalled for. It felt like they were trying to antagonize the situation, like as if I was a Karen asking for help with my drink. I'm just like.. did I do something to rile them up like that? No... even after I was met with rudeness I still smiled and shook it off, and asked if they could work with me. He slammed my refund money on the table. I have a little one too, I modeled for him how we respond to people with bad intentions. Them acting like the 5 year olds instead of adults. I did have some choice words when I picked up my money, but I hate that I wasted my time and money to stop here. Businesses like that don't deserve the time or energy. Shake the dust off my feet and move on. read more
