Longsilog and Tapsilog breakfast plates w/Sago Gulaman.
Lawrence M.

Whenever we're in West Covina and near the Seafood City in that area, my wife and I will always try to drop by Almuchow for our Filipino brunch fix. I'll usually get the Longsilog breakfast plate while my wife gets the Tapsilog breakfast plate. To finish things off we usually get two cold glasses of Sago Gulaman. The customer service is great and servers are always friendly and attentive to our needs. They sometimes have live bands performing. They always have great music and the decor makes you feel like you're having your meal at an eatery in the Philippines.

I had place a takeout order at Almuchow since I was craving Filipino food. I put in an order on a mobile app and head over ~15 minutes later. The store is located in a large plaza with plenty of parking. When I got there, the order wasn't ready yet, so I needed to wait another 5 minutes or so. I ordered the Longsilog and took a bit of time to eat it. The sausage was a bit tough but tasted good. The garlic rice was not anything special. This dish by itself was a bit expensive and the portion feels a bit light.

The place has a minimalist design but nicely comfortable and clean. The server was pleasant and attentive. The food was great all great presentation and delicious. The amount of food was plenty good for the price.

New location! Different location, same delicious food! The menu is largely unchanged, apparently they added a few new things. My go to is definitely any of the silogs. But I see they have chicken adobo now and I HAVE to come back and try that. The space is HUGE now. So much more room for sit in dining.

We came around 2 on a Saturday and there were a few tables with guests. Staff are nice, minor language barrier (as we don't speak Tagalog and it was our first time here) Portions are generous. We ordered the mango, calamansi juice and gulaman (black grass jelly) crispy pata (fried pork), pork kare kare (pork curry), and rice meal with chicken BBQ. We had a lot of leftovers. Everything tasted good. We were not expecting the crispy pata to be a huge foot/leg. Neither the pata or the calderata came with rice so it was a lot of meat. The calderata was subtle in flavor and they offered this salty dark condiment to season it, and it helped. Our favorite dish was the rice meal, the garlic rice was so flavorful and the chicken skewers were cooked perfectly, nice and tender. We didn't see our waiter when we were done so we helped ourselves to the take out containers.

Love the new location. I definitely think the food deserves a wider audience. The interior is nice and simple, chill vibes. The service was also great. The wait staff checked on us while we ate our food but they did not hover. The food had the same great flavors as when they were at their original location. The one thing I would say is that I wish there were more bagnet pieces especially with the price going up. But it was still cooked really well. They also served a good amount of tapa in the tapsilog. All in all I would definitely go back and try their other offerings.

We ordered the longsilog and tapsilog and both were delicious. Longsilog came with garlic rice, skinless longanisa and eggs. The tapsilog was yummy it was kinda like beef steak as the tapa is on the wetter side instead of dry tapa. It is small inside with about 4 tables. Friendly staff. We'll come back again.

This is a gem of a find if you like Filipino food. First time being here. Ordered the longsilog, tocilog and kare kare. The si logs were good...I especially like the flavors of both the longganisa and tocino. Tocino was slightly tougher but still good. The kare kare with the crispy beignet did not disappoint. Ample parking space at the plaza, price is a bit more than anticipated although they have decent portions. Place is small - enough for 12 diners only so big groups would not be recommended. Although good service, kitchen is a bit slow with the orders. Overall, still a great find, off the beaten path of Amar/seafood city.

Decent food. Got some lumpia on the side, but it was too salty. We got the tapsilog, which was pretty good (7.5/10). Loved the eggs and garlic rice. We also got the tocilog (pork) and the meat was too tough, jaw was hurting chewing it (6/10). Don't know if I would come again. Service was alright, no long waits or anything.

This establishment is very cute and simple, with a great selection of food. I came specifically for the lumpia, and they were absolutely delicious! I'll definitely be coming back to try more items. The customer service was wonderful and super fast, and the whole place was very clean.

Bagnet (A la carte)

My husband and I ordered takeout from this restaurant. I'm always on the hunt for a go-to Filipino spot since I'm further away from family. I found this place after a quick google and yelp search. It's a smaller place but there are some tables for a few people to eat their food at the restaurant. Our pickup was super easy and the people there were very friendly and quick for our transaction. The food itself was delicious. I ordered pancit bihon, bagnet (ala carte), side of rice, lumpiang shanghai and spamsilog. The pancit was cooked perfectly and once the lemon was added, it was a perfect balance of acidity and savory. I liked how crunchy and salty the bagnet was; it paired perfectly with the rice and "mang tomas" sauce. My husband liked the spamsilog, but wished there were more spam slices. The lumpia was crunchy and delicious. The only complaint I have is that the food is on the pricier end. We paid about $70 for everything which is a lot for Filipino food. The portions were at least larger so it made up for some of the price.

Bagnetsilog
Winny T.

I don't have Filipino food often but decided to give this place a try. It was smaller than I thought so seating is limited with only four tables. Most people come in for takeout but we dined in. Their menu had a good amount of options to choose from especially from their rice dishes and I chose the Bagnetsilog. Their Bagnetsilog has fried lechon, garlic fried rice, and sunny side up eggs and some sauce. The portion size was good and there were giant pieces of the fried lechon. The dish had so much flavor that I could not stop myself from devouring it. It's a heavier meal for sure so you need to come hungry. It's also more affordable than most places so I would definitely come again and try their other dishes as well.

David L.

Saw all the great reviews decided to give it a try. It was alright. Place is small so it's best to takeout, parking is decent. I got the lechon and tapas combo. The lechon was thick and big but also very fatty. Taking a big bite of it all I got was fat and it was semi dry. The rice was cooked perfectly along with the eggs. The tapa was decent, but nothing to rave about. Service was alright. What got me was that it seemed that They have a reward system with your number. When I went to enter it, they put their own personal number in for the rewards. Not sure what that was about.

We ordered the tipid package (included large pata, kare kare without oxtail, an appetizer, rice, and your choice of pancit bihon or pancit canton) and kenchi steak. We got lumpiang Shanghai (mini egg rolls with ground pork and shrimp) and a mix of bihon and canton. Most items serve three to four people, so come with a hungry party and prepare to take leftovers home. The crispy pata (a deep-fried pork knuckle) had a lot of flavorful and juicy meat. While this dish is inherently fatty, there is still meat to cut off. The kare kare (beef chunks, tripe, and vegetables with a braised peanut gravy) tasted good. The rich flavor was also influenced by vegetables, such as eggplants and long beans. Some of the beef chunks were a little fatty. The lumpiang Shanghai arrived late into our lunch because we had to follow up with our server. While they currently charge $23 just for this appetizer, the portion size was much too small. It seems that with this specific package, you'd get a smaller appetizer portion. The bihon (thin rice noodles) and canton (thick egg noodles) pancit mix tasted adequate, and we had no complaints. I enjoyed the kenchi steak the most. This dish is beef shin topped with bone marrow served on a sizzling plate with gravy and vegetables. The beef had a thick texture, and the potatoes tasted soft and lovely. It was filling and noticeably better than the items in the tipid package in my opinion. Lastly, even though we visited around noon, they unfortunately didn't have halo-halo (a Filipino milky shaved ice with fruits and preserves) available as a dessert. At the end of the day, this is a solid restaurant with large portions and well-seasoned flavors. I definitely see why it's a family favorite for many.

I was bragging to my best friend about their food because we are foodie's and we love to eat. We were excited about what we were going to eat on Thursday, March 27 '26 and we had gotten there around 5:30. They close at 7 sp we had an hour and a half to eat. We ordered about 6 dishes --Pork Sinigang, Adobong Pusit, Bihon Guisado, Garlic Rice, Plain Rice, Crispy Pata , Ube Turon. When the orders came, the rice was so little, what they said was good for 2 people is actually only good for one. We asked for ice. They said they had none. not a big deal but honestly ice is a very important thing to have. There were no condiments on the table (patis , toyo, suka) etc which is common place in Filipino eateries. Around 6:30 we were being asked to finish our meal because they were "closing". Did they forget we ordered a bunch of stuff. If they are worried about their closing time, rhen please dont accept people an hour and a half before closing as you guys kmow Filipino food is not burgers and fries . You eat w little bit of everything slowly , its a cultural thing. We were again told two more times to hurry eating as they were closing. I was so shocked i coulf barely believe this kind of treatment. As a former caterer and hotel manager, we have never kicked anyone out of any establishment when they are still eating. You shut the door, you stop taking in customers but you always let the people still eating inside finish their meal, even if you had to stay behind for a bit. Another reason i took my best friend to dine rhere is because we were both so hungry and we dont do any cooking in our homes. My best friend paid for the meal --almost $150 , we decided against leaving a tip because the service was poor. The people working in the front had a less than acceptable demeanor, rushing us out of there we couldnt even finish eating. All in all, i felt embarassed in front of my best friend who treated me to the meal, when i had done nothing but brag about this place and their food non stop. I wpuld have loved to have had a conversation wirh Ms Nova Mendoza herself in person to compliment her on the amazing food but also to tell her that the staff needed further training im hospitality, customer care, and soft skills , it is their behavior and conduct which will bring this restaurant down. Please dont chase people out when they are eating. That was so poorly done.

Plenty of seats that have seen better days. A portion of the restaurant is covered in plastic to house some construction equipment ? I asked for the pork sisig ala carte and decided to add an order of kalderetang kambing and 2c of rice. Big mistake buying more than one entree when you are taking it home and have no clue how their food tastes. I trusted Yelp too much. . Sisig had a 1:1 ratio of meat to bell peppers. I also couldn't help but feel lile the peppers were undercooked, even raw. Maybe that was their style, but I also disliked the mayo on top. Now the kalderetang kambing had a strange fishy (gamey) smell in the car. When I tried it at home, the meat looked so red and tasted way too sweet, not at all like the Kalderetas I'm used to back home. The meat was falling off the bone soft though. This is my problem with Filipino restaurants in the US - if they can't make dishes better tasting than what I make at home (i rarely cook but im a good eater), I cannot rate them high at all. I've eaten too much Filipino food in my life to know what tastes good. I feel bad because the folks who work here/(owners?) are pretty nice and they were working on Valentines. But the current rating they have is misleading. If you're going for the big entrees like I did, and are used to Gerry's Grill type sisig, prepare to be disappointed.
