Good quick place to try different foods/street foods. Decent prices and solid combos. Lady who helped us was nice and friendly. Not too much seating inside but was clean.
With my cousin, who was visiting from Washington. As a Filipino missing home, we were both very excited to try your place, especially since street food holds a special place in our hearts. During our visit, we ordered a variety of dishes including pig ears, intestines, pork barbecue, fried bukaklak (which is fried intestines), fish balls, kwek kwek (egg wrapped in an orange-flavored batter and deep-fried), and pancit canton. I would like to share some detailed feedback about our experience. The place is decent - clean and well-kept, and the servers were very nice two kinds of sauces: vinegar and the sweet brown traditional fish ball sauce, enjoyed the pork barbecue and fried intestines; however, I found that the portions were somewhat small relative to the price. Regarding the pig ears and intestines, there was an unusual aftertaste that made me unsure if these items were not as fresh as they should be. The pancit canton was average - it was okay but not something I would order again. The cantaloupe juice was also a bit too sweet for my taste. About halfway through the meal, we realized one item was missing from our order. Though it was promptly brought out after we mentioned ii I'm not sure if it's just sitting in the kitchen and it's not even busy. My experience with LA location is way different , I find the food there to be significantly better in taste and overall quality. I am not sure why this disparity exists, but I thought it important to provide this honest comparison.
Came by on a Friday night and there was no wait! Parking was easy with the lot shared with other restaurants and stores in the same plaza. Service was attentive and vibes were very casual- definitely lives up to the filipino street food experience. The perfect place for a nice casual yap session with friends. You start by grabbing an aluminum tray and choosing from a wide selection of skewers- all priced at just $1.50 each, which makes it an affordable place. Once you've made your picks, you pay at the counter and they'll grill everything for you. There are also a few sauces up front to customize your flavors. The grilled skewers are served in your tray, and you're ready to dig in. Some of my favorites were the quail eggs, chicken heart, pork BBQ, chicken BBQ, pork ear, and fish tofu. The melon juice was also really good- refreshing and not too sweet. Would definitely come again for the skewers and casual street food experience!

Welcome to Dollar Hits in West Covina... aka the Filipino street food heaven where your taste buds go on vacation and your arteries start sweating. Two of my kiddos dragged me here (okay, I pretended to resist but was already Googling what this place was about). Friday nights, this is place is poppin!!! Just think: Street food rave, but with less glow sticks and more bbq sticks, lol!! The super nice lady at the counter explained how it works: Grab a tray like you're in a culinary Hunger Games, load it up w mysterious delicious goodies, pay, and watch your treasures disappear into the back like they're going through a smoky rite of passage. Then, bam.... yoir grilled perfection appears!! We didn't try everything (my stomach was ambitious, but my belt was like, "calm down bruh"), but we're 100% coming back with a seasoned Filipino street food expert. The sago gulaman drink was sooooo good!!! A chewy, sweet, jelly filled nostalgia bomb that transported me straight to the streets of Manila..... or at least to a very happy sugar coma (it was sweetened perfectly). Come hungry, bring friends, family, and leave any calorie counting apps at the door (ain't nobody got time for that here). Vibe was so cool... they even brought out some tables & chairs outside and a customer had his guitar, like how your titos and titas would be chillin outside the house at night w pulutan & drinks. Very cool and unique spot. Looking forward to our next visit w the rest of the kids who are more audicious.
We had a one day trip to Cali from Vegas and really didn't want to take the drive to the location in LA which was our go to I know traffic going there was going to be over an hour so we opted for the second location which we have never been and I know you don't get the same experience as the one in LA and let me say I actually like this place specially when you don't feel like smelling like bbq because they grill it for you! Everything else is the same honestly. Service was good,friendly of course and helpful. This was more a 35 mins drive w no traffic from our hotel and it was less busy,they had a lot of parking space and they had everything pretty much what the other location had except the live grilling part which was ok. Quiet neighborhood and had a lot of Filipino stores/restaurant around even next to a jolibee. Definitely be coming back next time!
This spot has amazing deals on skewers. The ordering system is simple: you choose the skewers from the bar, pay, and then they grill everything in the back for you. The chicharrón skewer was my favorite. It was so crispy on the outside and fatty on the inside. As for the sausage, I personally found it a bit too salty. That said, the lumpia, chicken, and pork skewers were all really good. They also offer some sweet treats. I really liked the fried banana: it's coated in sugar and so crispy. We got the melon drink, which was a little too sweet for my taste, but still refreshing. Overall, this is a a fun, casual spot that's perfect for trying a bunch of different meats for a great price!
Dollar Hits! We popped in to try this place and its unique experience. I would see and hear how the LA location is and being able to grill your own skewers For the West Covina location you grab a container filled choose from the vast selection of skewers and bring to cashier and they'll grill em up for you. I appreciate the home vibe of the location. There's a couple of tables for group seating and a self serve station for dipping sauces. The amount of choices here makes you just want to grab one of each! Priced at $1.50/per skewer, it's not bad. You can grab enough to get you a good amount of food for lunch. The skewers my wife and I selected on this visit were the chicken skins, longanisa, kwek-kwek(quail eggs), fish balls, pork and chicken skewers. All of our choices marinated well and tasty. I think next time we'd ask for the chicken skins to be grilled crispier but either way it was good! The Kwek-Kweks are my #1 choice. Overall, another awesome place for quick bites and a taste of the Philippines! Salamat, Dollar Hits!
It's great that this location exists so we don't have to drive to LA when we are craving skewers! Each skewer is only $1.50, so you're able to try a lot of options. I wish they have more variety in types of skewers though, for example, most of the choices were pork or chicken, not a lot of beef options. The skewers are decent, and they come out pretty quickly! We also tried the Tapsilog which came with a perfectly cooked egg! The portion could have been a little bigger, but the beef was tasty. Overall, a good option for skewers in this area!

The food is good, service is great and good place for family. I only wished this place would be bigger inside. Other than that it's a good place that's just like in the Philippines!
I love coming here! I love how affordable the prices are. I got 6 skewers and a side of rice for $9. I was very satisfied by the time I finished everything. The flavor of the BBQ marination is also very good. The process is pretty quick too! You pick your skewers, pay at the register, they take it back to barbecue them, and pick it up at the counter. They also have a variety of Filipino dessert and drink options. I have yet to try them, but I'll definitely get some the next time I go. This is definitely a must try if you're in the area or craving Filipino food.
Amazing experience. Best chicken feet skewers i've had. They have a great variety of original filipino street bbq skewers. They no longer to bbq outdoors on the weekends but its faster when they are cooked in the kitchen. They also offer silog dishes and have a quite a few things for sale market style and a la cart like suman, pancit, drinks and other filipino desserts. Seating was limited at the time we went at 9pm they inly had 3 tables but have plenty of chairs. Of course the service was great because you are treated like family by the staff here. If you need anything for parties they offer a variety of party trays for catering.
Dollar hits is a family fave. Whenever we are in SoCal, we have to have our filipino bbq fix. We have tried all the locations and this one in West Covina, we find particularly less hectic and parking is not an issue. Note: the place is a bit small so plan accordingly if you plan on dining in... Pro-tip: get some food and tailgate in your car! Oh, and dont forget to dunk your skewers in their spiced vinegar and house sauce! How to order: Get a tray and pick the skewer(s) you want to eat. Bring your items to the cashier counter and pay. They can grill the sticks for you or you can take them as is and grill them at home. Our favorites: Chicken isaw Pork tenga Pork bbq sticks Tokwa't baboy + gotto Melon juice Sago't gulaman Pork isaw Kare-kare They servers are super friendly and we always feel "at home." Small skewer joint, you grab your own tray and pick the skewers you wanted. This was my first time here so I wasn't sure what to expect honestly! Although, a lot of the skewers look kinda unappetizing... it looked like it was there for a really long time?? I was pretty basic and just got the chicken skewer and the more premium pork skewer. Honestly the chicken skewer was ok! Although, it was pretty salty. The chicken quality also does taste very basic. The pork skewer that was drenched in sauce was extremely salty. Also very tough. The cashier was very nice and friendly though! read more

I love Dollar hits! It is an authentic Filipino Street Food as I was told by many of my friends! I love the variety of skewers they have. To mention a few; pork BBQ, heart, pork intestine, pork skin, pork ears beef intestine, chicken BBQ, and chicken feet,dried squid skewers, fish Tofu, hot dog, and lumpia. In addition to; siomai, fertilized duck eggs, pancit and many other bowls they have in their menu. I prefer to grill my order there, so it will be ready to eat. It doesn't take long time to grill the skewers there. It is actually fast. The owner is so nice and very friendly. Everything was wrapped perfectly. The food was delicious and flavorful as usual. It is a great place to try and to enjoy the food. read more
halo halo was really good and i dont even like sweets that much. might be the best halo halo ive tasted! servers were also very kind and friendly. a cute local spot however, we didnt like the skewers, we got kwek kwek, okoy, lumpia shanghai, and all tasted bland. lumpia didnt have enough filling either. at least when we went. i think other locations are better. read more
My cousin had recommended trying this place, so I did. This is a filipino restaurant that offers various meats/foods on a stick (street food style) and they cook it up in the back for you. They have a large selection on meats, mainly pork or chicken products, minimal beef selections, and some tofu/other proteins and seafood products. They also offer a several bowl items, along with other cooked items by the pound, like deep fried chicken skin. I picked out a few items for my meal, everything was seasoned well. I would have preferred a little more time on the grill, for more char, but it was cooked properly. It's a fairly small store front with a few tables and bar/wall seating. They do also offer 2 tables outside. The lady that greeted me was friendly and took the time to explain the process to me. The pricing is pretty good on the foods on a stick at $1.50 each item. read more

A good option if you want convenient skewers. You choose all the skewers or foods you want to eat and they will cook them for you. All the skewers are labeled. Each skewer is $1.50 which isn't a bad price but will add up. They also have lots of desserts to choose from. Their cantaloupe drink was so good; super sweet and fresh with cantaloupe inside. There are tables and chairs inside. It got a little crowded when we went because so many families were there. read more

Of course the original location is the best for experience. Pros and cons to each location. Pros to this location is less crowded and dipping sauces are self serve, Biggest con is not having to BBQ your own meats. I love mine practically burned to a crisp. Even if I request extra crispy, it's still not crispy enough. This location will do, if I don't want to search for parking in LA. read more

Dined here a few more times, and I came back yesterday with some friends for dinner. We came at the perfect time because by then, the dinner rush has started. We took one of their extra tables and stools to dine outside for more room. Staff here are nice and hospitable as always. Food here is always good. They grill the foods for you in the back. Me and my friends shared 1 halo halo cup and it was a perfect way to end our meal. Melon juice is a must here! read more

Dollar hits definitely satisfied my Filipino street food cravings! Their variety of food reminded me of childhood memories, and it helps that they are located near me. I rate this place 3.5 stars! It's small, cozy, and clean inside. They have those long plastic white tables for 6 people where you might have to share with others. They only have 3 so if it gets busy, it can get cramped inside. They also have a few chairs available at the counter table by the wall. You get to pick your choice of street food, pay at the register, and they will grill it for you. They also have desserts, refreshments, and snacks. Most skewered items are $1.50 per piece. We got pork BBQ, kwek kwek, chicken isaw, veggie fried lumpia, kikiam, betamax, lobster balls, melon juice, sylvana cake slice, karioka, turon, pork isaw and pares with rice & soup $8. They used to have balut, but they said it hasn't been available for a while now. The best tasting food among all the items we got are the karioka and veggie eggrolls. The pares is quite disappointing (meat and rice is dry; not freshly made) and the pork isaw had a funny taste to it compared to my previous visits (it seemed like it was not fully cleaned so imagine the taste on what passes there). The rest of the food was really good except for those 2. The service was great. Rhoda was fun and attentive. We will be back since my mom and I enjoyed the experience. read more
The vibe is an air-conditioned carinderia where everything is clean and organized. The uncooked meats are on skewers and you pile what you want on a styrofoam dish. If I'm not mistaken, it's $1.75 per skewer. A bit expensive but Dollar Hits will satisfy your hankering for isaw. They have pork and chicken barbecue, siomai, kwek kwek, betamax, adidas and everything you can think of. To the side is an area where you can purchase their own chicharon for $9.99, as well as other rice-based treats, and beloved childhood snacks like Clover Chips. They cook your choices over a grill while you wait (and the wait isn't that long - depending on how many people came before you) and after they get them nice and charred, they wrap it all up in plastic (even the vinegar sawsawan!) so that nothing spills while you're in transit. They anticipate your needs before you even realize what they are. Typical Pinoy service - it's almost like you took food home from a gathering that your Tita hosted. You'll be sure to go home with delicious food that you know was made with so much care and love. read more

Plenty of selection to choose from. This location doesn't have the grill where you can cook your items yourself, but after you buy your items--they cook it super quick. They have two dipping sauces to choose from, personally I wished their vinegar one had more vinegar. Nonetheless delicious, and a great snack in between meals. Plenty of sweet snacks as well. Brilliant concept. Pick out your own selection of skewers from their bar and they'll grill these skewers for you. Then if you want, can choose some of their classic rice bowls. And in a few minutes you have a set of skewers fresh off the grill that pair perfectly with their rice. These rice bowls are straightforward but are tasty and don't steal the attention from the skewers which are the stars of the show. Their beef bbq and chicken bbq skewers, although basic/common skewers, were some of the best skewers I've had in LA. Loved their selection of unique skewers like fried quail egg and chicken skin. The cantaloupe drink was a real treat. Whole families, romantics on their dates, and parties of friends all seen hanging out in this inviting spot, so you know it's good. Fast service. Finding gems like this restaurant is why I became a foodie! read more
First time here and it definitely lived up to the hype Pretty much you just grab what you want and put it on a plate then they'll grill it for you My favorite was probably the lumpia, it's very similar to an egg roll except the filing is different. It's some sort of meat Their chicken and pork skewers were great as well, both had a smoky taste to it and full of flavors. Definitely will be back! read more
Authentic, delicious Filipino bbq! You're able to choose from so many options and they grill it for you. Service was awesome, the owner came out to speak to us and she was so warm and welcoming. Always love to support a small business and you really get that feel when you walk in. Affordable and yummy, i can see why people come here for a lil snack. I tried the pork intestine, beef intestine, fried quail egg, and chicken skin. My mistake was coming in after dinner so it was a bit too filling because the skewers are a little fatty. But the flavor was really good. Will definitely come back on an empty stomach next time! read more
Fun food! You come, take what ever skewer you want and put them on the tray, pay (small fee for card), and wait. The seasoning of their skewer is delicious. Get the vinegar and dipping sauce yourself by the cashier. They also have foods other than the skewers. If you wish to sit outside, grab a table and chairs and set them up yourself. Nice people there that give you good service. read more
