We have had a few serious issues with a prior septic install from a different provider, with the pump chamber of our system collapsing in on itself (twice) after heavy rains, possibly caused by heavy soil and a vacuum effect, since the plastic chamber is empty most of the time (by design). Taylor recommended a concrete tank to avoid the issue again, but it was going to be difficult to get one back to the place in our yard where it needed to be set up. He coordinated with a local crane company and they were able to lift the 10k lb tank over our house and into position without issue. I most heartily endorse BMB Septic. It's a family business started I'd guess 40 years ago, now run by the founder's son, Taylor, whom I had the pleasure of meeting. The original (1967) leach field had been failing since before I bought the property in 2016. The problem was more complicated than simply installing a new leach network because: (1) I'd built a basketball court over the "reserve" field, but only using paver bricks on packed dirt within a two-course cinder block retaining perimeter, all overlaid by plastic snap down tiles, just in case it had to be torn up to put in a new leach field. It was an investment and helped my son get a good basketball scholarship. I was hoping to keep it for the resale value. (2) The neighbor's inactive well requires 100' separation from any leach field meaning half my yard is unusable. Moreover, the ground water is only 8' from the surface, and my leach field must be at least 5' above that water level. Thankfully, my property is on a slight incline above the neighbor's, so the half of my yard farther from the neighbor's well is a bit more than 5' above ground water level. (3) Thus, Taylor asked the county inspector, a pleasant and responsive fellow whose name I won't mention because he's a public employee, if the leach lines could be carefully laid (a) between the saturated, carbon fouled, and therefore unusable original leach lines, and (b) be 100' from the neighbor's well, and (c) be 5' above ground water level, altogether a complicated combination of constraints. Taylor and his crew, Dante and Jeremy - both pleasant, hard-working chaps - dug up the mess, obtained approval from the county inspector, had the septic tank pumped out, and laid down chalk lines -- all on day 1. They also repaired the water main, unavoidably cut during excavation so my family would have running water overnight, even though the main would have to be cut again the following day. On day 2 they installed the entire leach field, managing to fit in 260' with specified 10' separation, on the only available patch of roughly 2600 ft^2, while avoiding the soil fouled by the original system, after which they replaced 100' of water main. On day 3, they repaired the tank, installed risers on the hatches to make pumping out easier in the future, then contoured, compacted, and smoothed the yard. All the while they were careful to disturb as little as possible, such as irrigation piping and bark pathways. Taylor is affable, knowledgeable, and readily willing to explain why and how things must be done to meet code. He was especially attentive to my desire to save the basketball court, and advocated thus to the county inspector, who was kindly amenable. Pricing was entirely reasonable; truly professional work deserves just remuneration. I recommend BMB Septic most highly. read more

My leach line failed. To complicate the situation I could no longer use my backyard for leach lines because it is within 100 feet of a seasonal creek. Taylor proposed a system in the front and side yard and got it approved by the county before starting any work. They installed a new leach line which was inspected and permitted by the county. It started with a catastrophic failure of my leach field. Taylor came and checked the system out and gave me a straight forward quote to get things fixed. I ended up going with another "cheaper" guy Ernie from San Diego septic. After paying him $2400 plus the cost to pump my system he effectively shifted the problem 20' left into my property and then wouldn't respond to my calls and texts. The reality was the system just needed to be replaced and I needed someone to just say that and give my a solid quote. I asked a close friend of mine who used to do general contracting for another contractor and long story long he pushed me back to BMB. I should have gone with them in the first place! Their communication was top notch. They told me what would happen, followed through, and got it done in a quality and timely manner. They put in a pretty epic seepage pit and took care of the perc test as well. The guys that were on site were friendly, professional and did awesome work. One of the days early in the process a tractor broke. They not only overnighted the part but had another machine there the next day to keep the job moving. I appreciated that they did not make that my problem. One of the sub contracted delivery trucks that brought the rock wanted to dump it on my property potentially damaging my drive way. Taylor intervened to make sure that didn't happen. Again I know other contractors would have just made that my problem. It was stressful getting all this done but these guys are top notch and Taylor is a genius with all this stuff. You are doing yourself a favor to call these guys and pull the trigger with them first. Taylor, Dustin and Kevin did a great job repairing our leach field. Our home is very old and had some quirks to its infrastructure. Not only was BMB able to repair our system, but modernized it also. We now have easy access for servicing of the tank and an added clean out to treat and inspect the function of the leach field. The BMB crew helped get my irrigation and grey water systems back in order after the excavation. The final condition of the yard after the backfilling is better than I expected. When I noticed a possible problem with my 38 year old septic system I contacted my Septic Tank pumper, and a Contractor friend, and separately asked then for recommendations on who they would refer me to repair my system.
