I was out in search of a quick charge charger, and they were less than half the price here compared to everywhere else; same with a USB-C cable. They also have a bunch of fidget spinners... not my thing, but just saying. Not being ripped off is a core aspect of keeping your dignity as a consumer -- a concept that seems foreign to many other mobile shops who price gouge because people in search of quick help w/ their phones are often desperate. Maintain your dignity, support shops that help you do the same, buy your stuff here.

My flight to…read moreColombia is delayed for tomorrow so I walked around the neighborhood looking for an electronics store to find a USB charging cable for my GoPro. While the cable itself was definitely overpriced at $15 (can buy on amazon prime for $8), it was super convenient since I fly out tomorrow very early and now have peace of mind that I'll be able to use my GoPro. The service was pretty quick and efficient. I'd return here if I was in a real pinch. They definitely have an assortment of items and most likely will have what you need.

But I've been burned badly of late at Best Buy, and Dyckman Electronics Center has me reconsidering my position. It's a solid #MerlinFIIIIVEEEEEE (elongate the vowels, elevate the pitch) and then some. My jam: I needed to replace a dishwasher and oven right away. (Don't ask: sometimes, somebody just needs a dishwasher and an oven, you know?) Called this place up and got reasonable quotes right away. The stuff was at my place in a couple hours. A lot of indie shops price gouge shamelessly. This place is the opposite. I'd definitely recommend talking to Angela if you're in a jam similar to mine. She'll take care of you and help you out if things go South (which they did for me -- I initially got a 30 inch oven by mistake for a 24 inch slot, and she told me to relax and fixed it!)

Just under a year later, I brought the headphones in because they had cable problems and the audio cut out frequently in the right ear. They were great about honoring their store warranty, and I walked out with a new pair in short order. I did not expect it to be so easy. I am very happy with the service at Dyckman Electronics. Note: The warranty requires the receipt and the original packaging.

12/28/18 I brought my apple watch series 1 to this store for an LCD screen repair. Before I drop…read moreoff the watch, I showed Arsen the watch. We examined it to see if it be could be repaired. We tested out the touch screen (both soft and hard touch), it was still working 98%. It was a little slow. My watch was in his shop for 2 weeks. Arsen called me 1/4/19 to tell me there was a delay in the shipping. He called 1/8/19 to tell me they tried to replaced the screen twice and the motherboard would freeze. Going back to when I dropped it off. It was slow NOT freezing. He says to get the motherboard fix it would basically cost the price of getting a new watch. I said that's not an option. He says he will charge me $45 for the labor. I said, ok can I pick it up today(1/8/19). He said well we're still working on it. I'm thinking to myself Idk, anything about a motherboard. So what exactly are you working on? I brought my watch in 12/28/18. I get it, the holidays were around so a small delay in pick up. I called today (1/13/19)to pick up the watch. My watch is completely dead, lucky I have my charger to see exactly what's going on, but I'm already irritated because its taking a while to turn on. I pay Arsen $45 he hands me my watch and the screen is literally falling out. I said, "when I came in my screen was not falling out like that". You have to melt the adhesive and pry open the edges for it to lift. Please fix it how it was when i came in. He said, it was like that remember? No I dont sir I dont, and you know that. He said I will put some reinforcement on it to hold it in place. I said, please. Ok. I'm very soft spoken and respectful. So I appreciate the professionalism in handling my device to be handled with care. I said my watch broke last year. Yes, 2018.. a few months ago and it was very functional. I know the screen was cracked, but the handling of my device was just poor and distasteful. I didn't need two weeks for you to tell me it wasn't possible to fix. It looked the same when I gave it to you. You fix apples watches. I know you came across a cracked screen before. You could have easily said, this can not be fixed without changing the motherboard. It was such a waste of my time and I shelled out $45 just for you to basically insinuate that you "tried to fix it". Service not rendered. Make sure you know how your device functions before and after in any repair shop. Also, make sure they clarify what they CAN & CANNOT do, before you waste your time. Its like deep down he knew it couldn't have been fixed. I'm so sad. The screen won't stay in place. I legit want to cry. He knows and I know that it was NOT like that. So i cant use it‍. Side bar: At first he tried to charge me $150, but "forgot" he quoted me $100 over the phone. Then he said, oh.. ok. I remember. In general, I like to confirm quotes to make sure it's consistent when I arrive in person.

UPDATE!!! I FINALLY figured out what the problem was!! No…read morethanks to the company though. THey sold me a pair of speakers that are rated for the EU which is why they wouldnt work when plugged in. The voltage is wrong. So the question remains "Do these people actually know what they are doing selling and NOT SUPPORTING their products. Saying they have a 1 year warranty from the manufacturer only to have JBL deny a claim because the seller isnt' a legitimate vendor." Purchased a pair of speakers that were listed as brand new, however, no original packaging, no paperwork, or info was included in the packaging. That's super sketchy. They DID finally send me a photocopied version of the original paperwork that should have come in the "New in Box" packaging. I also discovered that one of the $800 speakers was DOA. (Even before the 3-day period was over they were trying to convince me to mail them at my expense to Harman to have them repaired.) After some tinkering, It worked temporarily (past the 3-day return period) and I let one of the techs talk me out of sending them back. NEITHER speaker will charge despite my many efforts to change outlets, words etc. I'm out the $1,600.
