I want to thank the owner of Blue's for taking care of my sister and brother-in-law a few weeks ago. I am from San Diego, CA and knew that Blue's BBQ is my brother-in-law's favorite restaurant. My sister and their youngest daughter had been in the hospital for a week and I wanted to help my brother-in-law out by having a meal delivered to the family. Little did I know that Blue's doesn't typically deliver unless it is for a catering event. After talking with the owner, he agreed to have one of his children deliver the meal. Yay! I'm a fan. About 100 yards away from this place the heavenly smell of bbq smoke reached me and guided me to the promised land. Ordered the brisket and pulled pork with potato salad and everything was excellent. I will definitely be back and look forward to trying the ribs because they looked really good as well. I was gonna write a review last time I checked in but my hands where indisposed at the moment. Finger-licking good BBQ! Then catered at work and had racks of ribs always a great rub & crust, tad undercooked. Pit beans are good. Coleslaw sloppy. Salad plain. Pulled pork is super tasty! Mild sauce is spicy. Blues is deceptively good. Saw that it was connected to a gas station and had a drive thru and almost drove away. It is Definitely a hole in the wall type restaurant but it was busy and we were starving. Ribs were just pulled from the smoker outside and brought in full racks. They were juicy and had great flavor. The brisket sandwich was delicious as well. The beans were delicious and the coleslaw was coleslaw. The BBQ sauce was a little lacking in flavor and the HOT sauce didn't have any kick. Don't regret the stop at all. read more

Was about to stop at a chain restaurant and spotted this nearby via Yelp. What a good decision to come here. Small plate of brisket and turkey along with 2 pretty decent sized sides and a soda for $8. The turkey and brisket were both awesome.... Friendly staff, quick service and all in all can't give less thank 5 stars. Did a trip to Yellowstone with the family. On the way out, we stopped in Billings, MT for the night. Was craving BBQ and found Blues in Yelp. There was 8 of us and we stopped in before they were closing. As noted by others, inside a gas station, very casual, but very clean. We ordered the family special... Lots of brisket, ribs, slaw, baked beans, and bread. After we got served, there was almost zero talking as everyone devoured their serving and got seconds. Great food, great service, friendly staff, and affordably priced. Wish they had a store here in my home state. read more

Good Food & Fair Price! I met the owner like 10+ yrs ago and food is good! How they keep that smoked turkey so moist is wonderful! It's not fine dining but served on picnic plates. They usually have a deal like a pulled pork sandwich + 1 side + pop for 7 bucks or 2 sides for another buck! I've never had the ribs but the brisket, pulled pork, turkey & sausage are really good! This is the greatest place in Billings Montana! There good is amazing, the owners are the nicest people I've ever spoken to. Had a minor issue with 1 meal in all the years I've been going there and they fixed it instantly. It was a long day I was tired, hungry and it was late with a husband and 4 kids to feed. This is the best bbq in Billings. In Texas, it would rate as above average. I am fairly picky about bbq after living in Memphis and Dallas. I jump at the chance to eat here. One of my favorite lunch locations! I always order the ribs and brisket. I have never been disappointed with the ribs, but one time the brisket was a little dry. (I have forgiven them the one time slip) Otherwise everything has always been great! I usually get the slaw, and mix it up with the other sides. Get the ribs! They say world famous, and I'm not sure about that, but they are darn tasty. Just the right amount of smoke flavor, and the meat was fall-off-the-bone tender. The sides (I had potato salad and coleslaw) were pretty good, but the ribs are where it's at! A coworker who I ate with had the brisket sandwich, which he said was good, but he ate one rib and said next time he's getting ribs. The prices are fair and the food is ready almost before you're done ordering (they even have a drive through). Probably the best meal I've had on this end of Billings. Blue's is a family favorite! Located in a gas station, a little of the beaten path; just as most "great finds" are! We live in the heights and feel this is one of the best parts of living on this side of town! Even our young kids are fans of their fantastic ribs. I do not use sauce on my ribs and this is one of the only places I have eaten where the ribs have plenty of fantastic flavor without sauce! The pulled pork is another favorite of mine. After having Blue's BBQ cater several meetings for the company I work for we decided to give Blue's a try as a family since there just aren't many BBQ choices in Billings. We literally spit out more gristle and fat from the BBQ sandwich than the meat we ate. Nasty and have not been back since. Overpriced terrible cold BBQ is how I would describe this mess. Save yourself the trouble and disappointment by going to Dickies or Famous Daves because at least those places have some level of atmosphere...Blue's is in a gas station/convenience store! I continue to shake my head when people say that they like Blue's. Definitely not the best BBQ around. The flavors were alright. I had wings and was grossed out that they were reheated in a microwave. Mushy wings are not okay! This family caters, they make the best brisket the best ribs the best beans their ham is to die for their chicken is out of this world everything they touch is amazing it makes your taste buds come to life. We stopped by for lunch on our way home from our trip to Glacier NP. Great BBQ. We each had the Brisket and Rib Combo. Excellent flavor, good bark on the brisket and the ribs were very tender. My bar for good. Bbq is not fair after living in Austin Texas. That being said there brisket. Is good, but the guy cutting it doesn't know to cut against the grain big mistake, you always CUT against. Good smoke ring and flavor. Rib was good as well, sauces good flavor and consistency. We recently catered Blues Barbecue for a gathering following a funeral of family member. Their service was impeccable. The food arrived early with everything we needed..plates, silverware, plenty of BBQ sauce and dressings for the salad, butter for the rolls, etc. The pulled pork and smoked turkey arrived in one of their hot boxes that kepted the meat hot until we served. Pretty good BBQ. The turkey could have a bit more flavor but the ribs were meaty and full of flavor. Didn't really need the sauce. I'm used to NC BBQ but I was pleasantly surprised. I will definitely be returning while here in Billings. read more
