They filled me in on the benefits as well as an upcoming Black Friday special sale, which I really appreciated. The store has a great selection, with lots of products already beautifully packaged for gift giving. Between the personal service, beautiful presentation, and helpful information, this was a really enjoyable shopping experience. If you're a member (for a facial one a month), the service is $65; for non-members, the facial is $80. They have a wash bar when you wash your hands and face before being taken into one of the treatment rooms. The 30-minute facial is customized based on your needs (mine was focused on extractions and LED light therapy). The customer service was great, and the treatment room was beautiful and comfortable (mine was the back treatment room which had enormous windows looking out onto the garden behind the building - those fall colors and trees made my treatment extra relaxing). There are a lot of options for facials now - a range of prices, lengths of treatment, a range of privacy offered by the spa. There isn't a Glowbar by me in Baltimore, so membership isn't an option for me. But I enjoyed my experience. It's nice to have a less expensive and quick option for a facial! It makes it easy to fit in a facial, even during a busy week or weekend.

A friend of mine is in cosmetology school and uses one of the brands here. I am forgetting what it is now. But it was nice to see those. And I found my Arctic Fox, Poseidon, and I am very happy! The gal who rang me up was very nice. The second time I came here this week, we were looking for products for my son & his unruly curly hair. He is finally open to doing something with his hair! So the manager walked us around and explained things for his thinning hair. Shampoo and conditioner. And how to use it so it will help his hair stop thinning and grow back thicker. And then she found us a product to put on his hair after shampooing. To help it be more curly. And we got him a hair dryer too with a diffuser. I am hopeful he will watch YouTube videos to see how to work this, and the nice products will help him! Also, we got him a brush. When we got back home, I took out half of the bristles from the brush at the manager's suggestion. And then I put the product on his hair and scrunched it up. His hair looks so much better already. This is a nice store. The staff is nice too. Thank you!

I've missed having a convenient location for years since the old Rio location closed. The next closest stand-alone one is in Milestone in Germantown, which isn't wildly far away, but they sometimes seem to have supply issues for certain scents.* This new location in Downtown Crown is near Sephora, across from Coastal Flats and next to the old Zagg storefront (which moved over by UPS). There is a strip of 30 minute street parking available in front, or the garage around the bend from Ruth's Chris if you don't want to fight for space in the surface lot by the Harris Teeter haha I checked online to make sure the scents I was interested in would be in stock (assuming the corporate website was accurate) and headed in for the soap and sanitizer sale they had today. It is such a thoughtfully laid out location, and to say they had plentiful supplies of every type of item is an understatement! Everyone was friendly, and helpful, and when there wasn't any of the vanilla sanitizer out, they voluntarily checked their storage in front and back, and made sure to put more out by rearranging the display. This is the kind of location that will get me in the door more often than I should shop for some of these things, but it was such a joy compared to more stressful times I've had in mall locations, etc. [*Germantown tangent: I had been looking for travel sized Warm Vanilla Sugar all last fall/winter there and they never had it despite having tons of like 3 scents. To my surprise it was offered for store pick-up if I ordered ahead, so that's what I did. They actually never had it, and they game me a full size one for the price of travel instead. Technically a 'win' for me, but why did they never get any travel size of that for the entire season? Ended up going to Montgomery Mall for travel size still after, cause the big tube simply doesn't fit in some of my purses with a wallet and phone haha]

If you are looking for someone to give you a facial, definitely book with Anna. I've also gotten my hair done by Doreen and she is just the kindest person. She is personable and is very easy to talk to, and has a very keen eye for what will look good. She's very talented! The salon is very clean and has a calm vibe. Overall the experiences I've had with Anna, Doreen, and the ladies behind the front desk (who are all very funny!) has been great.

Wig Owners Beware!…read more I came to this salon to try on wigs after receiving a cancer diagnosis. I had a good experience and wanted to buy a wig, but the stylist encouraged me to wait because I didn't know if I would need chemo. I ended going with a different treatment which caused hair thinning, but not loss. Because of the change in treatment, I went to a salon the specialized in hair extensions. Last August, I started chemo and needed a wig. My stylist ordered a human hair wig from a website and cut it for me. However, he specializes in extensions and permanent hair pieces and doesn't offer any sort of maintenance service for wig owners. I didn't know this when I purchased the wig. Everything was happening fast and I needed to act quickly. Remembering the nice experience I had at this salon, I called to set up an appointment for a wig cleaning, style, and cut. I also wanted to buy a backup wig. I was hoping to become a regular as I'll likely need to wear a wig for the rest of my life. The person on the phone brought me to tears. She made me feel stupid for not buying a wig from them and told me the service isn't worth her time. She also lectured me about how I should have developed a better relationship with a stylist. I have stage 4 cancer and the last thing I need is someone lecturing me about the decisions I made while I'm in this awful situation. I'll be reaching out to my support groups and hospital coordinators to make sure no other cancer patients are recommended to this salon. I don't want anyone else to experience what I experienced today.

However, I will not and I'd much rather drive to Virginia to support a more professional business. As soon as I walk through the door I'm greeted with "can you leave that outside." The lady, who I assume is the owner, had been referring to my small dog. I offered to have my dog sit at the door if she was concerned about her using the restroom on her floor (which was understandable even though my dog is well trained. I know she doesn't know that so fine.) she replied with "I'd rather you not have it in here at all." I understand not everyone is a dog person but it comes down to how you address situations in your establishment that determines the overall success of a business. She was flat out RUDE and unprofessional! I left without buying anything because why would I support someone that doesn't even know how to talk to people. Reason #5 why we (black people) make it difficult to support black businesses.

The event was lovely, Rochel and her team really care about the quality of the products as well as their customers. Ok so first walking in this little store is amazing. All natural soaps, soaks, CBD products....we were in heaven. It was a little strange timing since the two of us who came in here are both moving out of state within a week, but we both decided to get some soap, CBD bath bombs and tea. I don't know what to say other than the CBD bath bombs changed both of our lives. I am a marathon runner and after a long run, I used one of these and my muscles felt so relaxed. After studying CBD in school there are for sure anti-inflammatory compounds in cannabinoids and I could tell. I woke up the next morning feeling relax and rejuvenated after that bath. This place inside is so cute and the man working who was very helpful told me they do parties, favors and host events. I wish I had found this place sooner. I will tell you that I loved these CBD bath bombs so much that once I get settled in my new home, I think I might buy some of these online. Great stop!
