I visited the Pure Shea Store in Eastern Market a couple of weeks ago and was eager to purchase their whipped shea butter, but they did not have it in stock as it was too warm outside. I went back yesterday and they had the Coco Mango Shea Butter whipped shea butter (see picture) and their leave-in conditioner which I will get into later. Eager to test it out, I tested it out on my hands and it was nice, but I really loved it when I used it after I showered. There is nothing like smelling good with highly moisturized skin that DOES NOT leave a residue on your bedsheets. What made it better is that I still felt moisturized in the morning as my legs simply glided against one another when I was getting comfortable in another position. Moving on to the leave-in conditioner... The leave-in conditioner did not have a scent printed on it compared to their other products like the coco mango shea butter, but it is not really as important because it smells great nonetheless. Now, we all know that just because a hair product smells good does not mean that it will work for your hair, however, this is not the case for this product. I applied a small amount to the palm of my hands, rubbed them together as it melted like butter, and ran it through my hair (which I think is 4a/4b and high porosity, but is currently blowdried). This product rejuvenated my hair and made it feel so soft as maintaining hydration can be difficult for me at times. Pricing... At first glance, the prices appear a little pricey. The 7.5oz of whipped shea butter was $17 and the 15oz of leave-in conditioner was $14 (This is a more understandable price). However, given the quality of the products where A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY...the prices are worth it (see second photo below which is how much product I used after my first official use). I have a feeling these products will last me a few months or more which is awesome to me! Overall opinion: These products hold true to their name regarding providing moisture to one's hair and body. Additionally, they have so many other products too such as soaps, hair and body oils for natural hair and locs, regular shea butter in many many scents, and more to try and possibly make a staple in your care routine. Please note that as you can take my opinion into consideration, I highly encourage you to try these products yourself as you may have a similar or different opinion than many being that not all products work the same for everyone. If you have hair, or want to switch up your hair/hairstyle, or even if you are bald, this store is for you. You can be whoever you want to be and look however you want to look. You want it, they have it, and I'm sure if they don't, they can import it for you. I was amazed by so many types of hair you can purchase. I thought before today I knew a little something, but after leaving the store, clearly, I was educated further about some things. Any color, shape, size, texture, length, you name it, they have it. Don't believe me, go and see it for yourselves. On top of everything else, the prices can't be beat; really. The guy at the counter says that they have weekly sales. Two of the items I bought were on sale; buy one and get the other half off. In times like these, it's nothing like getting a deal.
