Listen closely, skin..is in It's essential to establish a good skin care routine at home and follow up with a great facial! This place was nothing short of the perfect find to support healthy skin. First, the receptionist was very hospitable, welcoming, and professional. She immediately greeted you as you walked through the door. Next, the facility was clean and very blue-no literally blue decor was actually calming with the right balance of music, mirrors, and a cooling ambiance. Shoutout to my estheticians Jenay! She knew her stuff and started off our session by asking about my skin care routine, inquiring about details on the products used (hint to walk with your products because she asked a lot about ingredients to determine what was causing dryness). After the consultation, she got to work on my skin and explained the process every step of the way. I left with a glow and bag full of items I purchased for post care. Adding to that, I also left with an appointment for next month! Don't delay caring for yourself, book your appointment today.

I visited Hi Skin yesterday with a friend. When we first arrived, the place looked nice and inviting, but as soon as I realized we'd be getting our facials out in the open, I knew it wasn't going to be a relaxing experience. There was no privacy or calming atmosphere, which immediately took away from what should've been a self-care moment. My friend's experience was okay -- her aesthetician was friendly, asked a few questions about her routine, and gave her a decent facial. Nothing remarkable, but at least it was pleasant. Unfortunately, my experience was the complete opposite. From the start, my aesthetician (Marissa) told me my skin was "extremely tight and congested" and immediately tried to upsell me a *soothing infusion* add-on, even though I had only booked a basic facial. When I declined, she insisted that I should "really invest in how my skin feels, not just how it looks." Throughout the facial, she continued to make comments about my skincare routine, telling me I should "know what I'm putting on my face" when I couldn't remember the exact name of my serum. I also requested blackhead extractions, and she said I didn't have many but that the ones on my right cheek couldn't be removed because my skin was "too tight and inflamed." Ironically, I woke up this morning with a visible red mark on that same cheek from her attempt. During the massage portion, she mentioned my face was "so tense," but the experience didn't feel relaxing at all -- just uncomfortable. At the end, when she asked how my skin felt, I was ready to leave. I touched my cheek and she scolded me, saying, "Don't touch it, your fingers are dirty." I regularly get facials in San Francisco, and I've NEVER been treated this way. Even when aestheticians have skin-related feedback, they communicate it kindly and professionally. This experience felt judgmental, pushy, and overall unpleasant. To top it off, upon checkout we were pushed to buy several products we didn't want. I went in hoping for a relaxing, fun experience with my friend -- instead, I left feeling disrespected and with irritation and redness I didn't have before. Oh and before I forget, she even asked me if something had happened to my forehead because of a small bump, which upon touching my face anybody would know that it is literally my natural bone structure. Why would you ask someone that? Businesses like this need to do better -- focus on care, not upselling or criticism.

I arrived for my facial a few minutes early and was promptly greeted and checked in for my appointment. The building is an open area concept, with the chairs/mirrors located right next to each other, so if you're looking for a tranquil, private experience, this isn't it. It has a trendy vibe on the inside, with ambient lighting and current music playing overhead. My esthetician for my Really Good Facial was Lauren. She was fantastic! Before the facial, I told her my concerns, and she made some recommendations based on my responses and the condition of my skin. While there does seem to be a push to upsell there products and services, it's not overly pushy or annoying. I thoroughly enjoyed my facial. They are rapidly expanding and plan to open more locations in the area.

I heard of Hi, Skin on IG from an influencer reel. It was my birthday weekend and I was able to book an appointment around 4:45pm for a 6pm appointment on a Friday. I entered and was promptly greeted by the receptionist was was very kind. The space is very cool and bright with the colors. My aesthetician was Aisha and to start, her skin was FABULOUS. As someone who does not wear makeup, it's what I wish my skin could be. We got started and Aisha was very informative about my skin type and got to werk on those extractions. I have never seen a pimple tackled so well. There was not a bump in sight because she was able to get the head out. I was only left with a bit of scabbing that came off a few days later. The customer service was great! I will say the open concept makes it more of a skin bar opposed to spa. Based on the experience, I would recommend this to someone seeking consistent facials at an affordable price. I would come back in preparation for special events and recommend this to someone seeking an affordable and consistent spa experience.

We had such a pleasant encounter with the receptionist, Nicole, from the moment we walked in and were placed with 2 masseuses who were top-tier and gifted with the art of touch. Our couples massage was beyond rejuvenating and serene for each of us and we were truly able to decompress (and leave a lot of muscle knots behind on the table)! We both left feeling SO much lighter, connected within our bodies and to each other, and grateful we accepted the offer to give Unwind another chance. I am so impressed with the level of intention and care that the owner, Antonio, has displayed in making sure that we were in the absolute best hands the second time around. He was very apologetic that we had an off day on our first visit and really turned things a total 180. It's evident that he is passionate about his business, is extremely detail-oriented (the decor is GORGEOUS!), and has strived to exceed the 5-star reputation his establishment deserves. In a world where self-care tends to be an afterthought or a treat, I'm feeling inspired to carve out time to visit Unwind Wellness on a regular basis. I'm so glad I found the right match (and might have to gatekeep my masseuse's name because she is THAT good)!

If you're a member (for a facial one a month), the service is $65; for non-members, the facial is $80. They have a wash bar when you wash your hands and face before being taken into one of the treatment rooms. The 30-minute facial is customized based on your needs (mine was focused on extractions and LED light therapy). The customer service was great, and the treatment room was beautiful and comfortable (mine was the back treatment room which had enormous windows looking out onto the garden behind the building - those fall colors and trees made my treatment extra relaxing). There are a lot of options for facials now - a range of prices, lengths of treatment, a range of privacy offered by the spa. There isn't a Glowbar by me in Baltimore, so membership isn't an option for me. But I enjoyed my experience. It's nice to have a less expensive and quick option for a facial! I booked the appointment online and put down the necessary deposit. They were running a special for the month of January- 10% off during weekdays and it included aromatherapy. The 10% off did not automatically apply and I'm pretty sure I didn't get the discount. Parking- street parking if available. We lucked up and got a spot right in front of the spa. No paying a meter was required. My massage therapist was Mike and my husband's massage therapist was Kimberly. The couple's room was tight so I could feel, see and hear every time my husband's therapist talked to him or when she moved. My husband felt that Kimberly just couldn't get the pressure right even though she asked. He also felt like she took a break after every touch so there was awkwardly long waiting periods. He said her touch was often too soft even though he told her the pressure wasn't enough. She was pleasant; notwithstanding, she just wasn't the right therapist for him. Mike also asked me once about the pressure and at the time, it was okay. As the massage went on, it became uncomfortable. In all fairness, I should've spoken up. The elbow and forearm down the back and around the shoulders was the most painful. We got the massages on Monday morning and I'm still in pain on Wednesday. This is the first time I've asked for a male massage therapist and boy could I tell the difference. The pressure alone was intense. The best part was the scalp rub and the lavender scent (although there was something mid-massage that smelled like mildew). When asked what areas of focus before starting, I mentioned that I wanted my mid-back and arms focused on because I have carpal tunnel. Those areas weren't paid any special attention--they were simply apart of the regularly scheduled program - upper left, then upper right, then lower left, the lower right, then flip and repeat and end with scalp. This was the process for both my husband and I though he was flipped front a lot sooner than I was. Overall, I wouldn't mind returning if I'm in the area and trying another therapist.

The price for a 60 minute massage is very fair for being right in the city, $130 before the discount, $110 with it (before gratuity). I have not tried any other services. Since I am a member of the gym, I knew it was located in the gym along with the hair salon and was not surprised by the entrance procedure. Rather, I was incredibly impressed by the tranquil environment they managed to create within the busy gym. Once you enter the space, there's dim mood lighting, relaxing music, water, and a separate bathroom. You wouldn't even know you're in the gym. I received a massage form one masseuse, thought it was good, and so I went back for a second with the same individual. The second time, I was deeply unimpressed. The whole experience was much more wholistic and caressing than a pressure-based massage--even after I requested more pressure. It didn't even feel like I had had a massage afterwards. So for my third session, I decided to try someone different: Ronnie. And Ronnie was amazing. He incorporated so many different techniques, including stretching, and threw in some extras like heat and aroma, even going a little over time. I would definitely book Ronnie again. It is a shame that there's no way to tell on the app (that I could see) what type of massage each masseuse specializes in, so you could select one who matches your preferences. I'm giving my skin a break for a bit, but will probably get the "deeper" Morpheus 8 treatment here at Georgetown Allure with Jhovonna. MY RESULTS? So after reading the reviews for Ritual and following them on social for a few months, I decided to book at appointment for a peel with Victoria. The business suite is located within a much bigger building and upon getting off the elevator on the 8th floor, it was clear to me that many of the surrounding suites include other medical professionals. Upon entry, you'll notice the clinic is pristine and elegant, while also feeling warm and welcoming. Cayla, the patient coordinator at the check-in desk was bubbly and genuine - as a first time visitor, that initial impression means a lot. No pretense, no standoffishness - just a desire to help you to get settled in. I was then taken to the waiting area which was also clean and comfortable, with a few refreshments that are available for guests. Luckily for me, I was only in there for a few minutes before Victoria came to get me. We took a few pics and then headed into the room for my appointment. The room felt very much like a room you may be in for a doctor's appointment - very sterile, bright lights - which of course is a good sign. I then chatted with Victoria about my concerns and needs. She was a great listener as well as a proactive communicator, always educating me as she made suggestions or talked with me about options. It's evident that her top concern is the patient's health and well-being first and foremost, which then guides her recommendations. With the additional knowledge and context she provides, it's impossible not to feel well taken care of, in the hands of a responsible and professional provider. I was also very appreciative of her care and awareness of what treatments would be best for my type of skin, educating me about the Fitzpatrick scale (which I had taken time to educate myself briefly about on my own, but had never had a provider articulate with such mindfulness.) She also was able to balance that professionalism with warmth - which is a rare combination to find. Her ability to make you feel comfortable seems to come naturally and really makes the whole experience not only impactful but enjoyable. It's also evident that she carries a wealth of knowledge and is confident about that (without being condescending.) Overall, very impressed with the business and grateful for Victoria's care. Will definitely be returning in the near future to explore other treatments that will be good investments in my overall skin health and integrity.
