I had a special trifecta predicament. My son's wedding is Saturday and I have some important jewelry I wanted to wear from my late husband which is locked away in my safe, that I couldn't open. I searched Yelp for a locksmith with a not only good reviews but also nearby and reputable, which was Dave from Bluebird Locksmith. I called him late last night, he said he'd try to get his top safecracker to do the job by tonight. Boy did he come thru; they got here at 7:30 p.m., worked really hard on this safe and just over an hour later had it opened. Yesterday we had the pleasure of meeting and working with Derrin, one of Bluebird's locksmith techs. It was such a positive experience! We had a very complicated issue. Yet...Derrin was extremely patient with us as we asked multiple questions. (Over and over again!) He has great taste and replaced our existing hardware with levers and a deadbolt that match our kitchen finishes perfectly. He spent hours taking care of our problem. He is a perfectionist and it shows in the quality of his work. It is also obvious to see that he truly loves what he does. I don't write many reviews on Yelp or Google. However, this guy provided excellent service on a late Friday night. I was getting some fast food before going home at a Burger King on Dundee. A gentlemen parked next to me was locked out of his vehicle. His cell phone was in the vehicle and the Burger King lobby had closed when I was leaving. We tried to reach a contact for him but his contact was not available. I looked up a few locksmith places using Google on my cell phone. This was the only 24 hour place in the area. I expected to wait with this guy for 30 minutes to 45 minutes for the locksmith to come, but he was close to us and came within 5 minutes or so. Really helpful professional and very responsive! It was a pleasure to work with Bluebird, so unusual these days to find a company that is so customer-oriented, professional and quick to respond. I first talked to Dave, who expressed great personal concern to learn that I had been locked in our powder room when the lock mechanism failed. He said he would send someone out immediately. Dario arrived right away, even climbed in the window I had climbed out of to see if he could fix the lock without having to drill it out. Really prompt. Very friendly. Super professional. My toddler accidentally locked a bedroom door at my Aunt's apartment that she is currently renting. The bedroom door was a key lock. After contacting the landlord we found out he had no key for the door. He gave us the number for bluebird locksmith. We called. They immediately called back. The owner of Bluebird Locksmith, Dave, was very honest and very reasonable with his fee. I called him on weekend and he was able to come to our house within 30 minutes and opened our door. Also, he explained to me very thoroughly about our lock issue, which caused our door not able to open properly. This was due to our door latch bolt. We had a huge snowstorm in the area and our electricity was out in the neighborhood. I didn't have keys to the front door and couldn't get in through the garage. Called Bluebird Locksmith and they came out very quickly and were able to re-do the locks for all the doors and cut new keys. Technician was extremely friendly and provided excellent service.
