A place decked out in Warriors' Blue/Gold, Blue Saigon does a delicious job of fusing Vietnamese + Filipino cuisine. Everything I've tried here has been bomb! First time I ate here, I got their famous candy wings with a side of garlic noodles. Wings are savory + sweet but definitely more on the sweeter side. I've seen other customers order their candy sauce on the side to keep the wings cripsy so that's definitely an option for those that aren't big fans of saucy wings. Garlic noodles are bomb and compliment the wings super well! Recently, I've been getting their Sweet & Salty Pulled Pork banh mi. The bread they use is extremely soft and toasted a bit to add a crunch. Meat is flavorful & tender. They're generous with their meats too! Overall, a solid banh mi sandwich. Cream fried pot stickers are pretty good too! That cream sauce they pot on top of their gyoza is super tasty. Add a thai tea to the end of your order to tie it all in & you wont regret it! This is a very late review considering I've loved them ever since they opened their location here. My go to is always the shaking beef fries and the candy fried wings. Their Thai ice tea is also still one of my favorites. It's been a minute since I've been able to come order food but I did hear they're expanding so I do look forward to that and hopefully maybe some online ordering will be available soon as well. It can be a pretty long wait- and don't bother to try placing a phone order- they never pick up! Going to walk up order can be frustrating a little because sometimes they don't even greet or say anything, you'll just wait there. Also tell you the wait is about 20 mins- you'll always end up waiting over 40 mins Went to order at walk up, I ended up waiting an hour- and everyone who ordered behind me got their food before I did. Good food but horrible service!! Was excited to finally try this place since my brother moved in the area. Got there at 11:09 and was told to wait for another 5 minutes as they were still preparing their chicken. Went back in the car and waited patiently. My husband ended up going back out to place our order. Got our food by 11:30 however when we got home where we had mouths to feed. I realized we only received two orders of chicken and was missing another 8 piece. My husband even tried to argue with me that they might have combined my order. Nope! I counted and each box only had 8 pieces each. My husband called and he was told he needed to bring back the food which we had already started eating because we were all hungry. And it would've been another 10-15 minutes just go bring it back to show them proof that we really didn't get our full order. It wasn't worth it to drive all the way there just for that and they even hung up on him. Everything was fresh, and the people who work there are awesome. I would suggest calling ahead because the line can get a bit long, and the space gets cramped quickly while people wait, but nothing that isn't tolerable. A hole in the wall this place really is and I'm shocked at how bodega this place felt. I saw candy wings written on the outside and was so stunned and confused but overwhelmed with desire to try this wonder. The food is delicious and fresh, 15 minutes after ordering, my fiancé and I receive our crazy looking fries and my candied wings. Oh my tummy! From my understanding, they started off as a food truck and now have a brick and mortar location in Railroad avenue in Pittsburg, Ca. This restaurant is about 3 miles from my place which makes it convenient to go to. The place is actually small, but there is some tables inside. It's best if you take it to go. When I order from Blue Saigon I get the following: Garlic Noodles with Glazed Prawns - This is very flavorful and tasty. The noodles and prawns are smothered with garlic sauce and topped with Parmesan cheese. I love this Garlic Noodles. It can get a bit messy. Warrior Dog - Large hot dog with bacon, pickled red onions, nacho cheese and mustard aioli. This hot dog is lit. Really tasty, a bit too much dressing, but overall, really good. Again, this can be messy. Sisig Fries - So this is not in the menu, but order it and they will know what you're talking about. This is probably the best item on their menu. It's a blend of a traditional Filipino dish and California style fries. This is my favorite out of everything here. Be prepared to be sleepy afterwards haha. My sister had the candy fried chicken and it's really good too. I think there's too much sauce and it's too sweet, but that can just be me. It can also be sticky too. Overall, I highly recommend this place as it is unique in itself. The successful fusion between Vietnamese and Filipino food exemplifies the versatility of Asian food and how creativity within it can take it to a whole another level. read more
