I haven't been to the Brentwood location yet but looking forward to check it out. Also I suggest calling in ahead of time as it may get super busy. I'm honestly just disappointed in them now. They're always out of something. I wish the management there would look at their weekly inventory and see what they're selling fast because guess what! Crispiest fish I've had in a while and I know my roommate would be a big fan. The crispiness of their food is honestly hard to beat. Fries, tilapia, lumpia, all delicious and at a super SUPER affordable price. Thai tea is only $2 which is worth compared to what you get at a traditional Vietnamese pho place or something. Shoutout to their fries; highly recommend the garlic fries which are just completely covered in Parmesan and garlic, as well as their steak fries. The best way I can describe this place is an Asian American Mexican joint. The Bay Area is so diverse with so many different backgrounds and nationalities as this food fusion thing has been happening for a while now and it's expanding. Blue Saigon used to be a food truck (never had it before) and now have a permanent place in Pittsburg. Whenever we are in Antioch or Brentwood, Wifey would remind me about this place and never got around to it until recently on our drive back from Sacramento. We took the scenic route here to avoid and traffic and arrived mid afternoon. I can tell it's a popular spot for the locals and the crowd is also diverse. The decor is urban with a lot of Golden State Warriors memorabilia, which I liked. They even had a signed jersey of Monta Ellis hangin' on the wall. With so many options to choose with their version of popular dishes of Vietnamese, Filipino, Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, Hawaiian and California origins, we decided to get the Garlic Noodles Combo. I chose mine with Honey Tiger Prawns ($10.95) and Wifey ordered the Garlic Noodles with Lemon Pepper Chicken ($7.99) and topped with egg ($ extra). Her order is a bargain because you get 5 pieces of chicken wings on top of a bed of noodles and the regular price for their chicken wings is $4.99 for 5 pieces and $6.99 for eight. If that ain't a deal, then Wayne Brady ain't got nuthin' do with y'all. I also got a small side order of their Asian Salad ($3.00) with Fried Tofu ($ extra) and this was flavorful. The fried tofu was a nice crispy and meaty contrast to the salad as well as the sweet sauce, which I found a tad sweet but masked well when eaten together with the tofu. If I had a bone of pick, it would be that the wait was too long before we got our food. But as soon as we got our food, it put me back in a happy zone as I began chowing down on some grubs. For one thing, they don't lack in seasoning and their use is a bit heavy handed on the salt. Hey, I like salty things, but being too liberal of one thing becomes not a good thing and it's better to go back to the middle ground and find that balance. At the end of the day, we enjoyed our food albeit a tad salty, but the positives outweighed the negatives. And if you have a sweet tooth, they have deep fried oreos and deep fried twinkies for dessert. Too much for me, but I would certainly return to try their tacos, burritos, lumpia and sisig fries. The food here is bomb. My usual is the warrior dog and sisig fries with an egg on top and an order of some lumpia's ! Today I wasn't as hungry so I just got the fries and lumpia's. The wait is usually 25-55 minutes sometimes so if you're in a rush do not come here. The food is worth it! They are always so busy but I'm telling you they will not disappoint your taste buds. I've also tried the garlic noodles and the candied wings and they are also really good! The order of noodles is pretty big you can easily share with multiple people so that's always a plus if you're ordering for the family. Disclaimer: Vampires would die if they ever bit me. I'm a super garlic freak and love A LOT of garlic. These noodles to me were very garlicky (which is a great thing for me!) and just fyi you will definitely have a bad case of garlic breath! The chicken wings were actually pretty tasty with the glaze they cooked it with. Sticky yet not overly doused with the flavor. Very satisfying. Their Thai iced tea to me was too sweet, but over the past few years my taste buds have altered as I used to like super sweet drinks but now prefer them to be less sweet. So it depends on your level of sweetness. I thought it was tasty still but I'll probably ask them to fill the cup with ice next time to dilute it. My husband had the spicy chicken taco and the pulled pork taco. He didn't think the chicken was too spicy (a good thing for him) and he really liked the pulled pork. It's a small place, enough to dine in and dash or hang out for a little bit. I suggest if you're picking up to order at least 15-20 minutes ahead of time. I first discovered Blue Saigon... maybe 4 years ago? And at least once every two months when I visit my family, I come here for their candy-coated chicken wings and garlic fries. Their garlic noodles are pretty garlic-y and their candy-coated chicken wings always hit the spot. When my partner comes here, he always gets their shrimp tacos and their fish tacos. My partner and I also recently moved back to the area for family and work reasons and we have been coming here even more often! However... The reason why I am not giving a perfect 5-star review is because, since we are coming here more often, we have had some instances where customer service was lacking. My partner and I would try to call in and literally get no answer. I remember one time I called in, they finally did pick up, asked if they could put me on hold, and I was on hold for 15 minutes. I decided to take a risk and hang up and call back a couple of times and they still did not pick up. I still love this place, that was my only negative instance with them. Been meaning to check this place out, and it did not disappoint! The cashier was super friendly and made the first interaction with this spot super chill. Shoutout to him for the friendliness and good customer service! It was fairly busy around 4:00PM when I came in, so the food came out in about 15 minutes. The candy fried chicken is for sure a must cop. They're the perfect balance between sweet and savory, and the combination of juicy chicken meat and crunchy skin was tasty! I heard that sometimes these sell out early on in the day, and I can see why! This is a must try for sure. The garlic noodles were also pretty good! They weren't too wet like some garlic noodles usually are and had a nice flavor and bite to them. The sisig fries were probably my least favorite thing... but they were still good! They could have used some more sauce, and the sisig itself could have been a little less dry. I think I found myself gravitating towards the garlic noodles more because I was looking for more moisture. For a bite they'd be good, but I'd rather get something else. It'd be 5/5 if not for these fries, but the other food was so good I gotta give them props! If you're in the mood for some fusion Asian food, this spot is the call! I see their awesome logo. Love the shade of blue they use for everything. SO GOOD Look at their menu. GARLIC NOODLES? ADOBO? LUMPIA? Oh sweet heaven I love this Asian Fusion concept. But the real hook was when I saw SISIG. Pork belly goodness. THAT'S WHAT I HAD TO TRY. California Fries are so good. But to have sisig on it too? EVEN BETTER. The portion size was huge. Got Sisig? For those of you who do not know what Sisig is- basically a sour and spicy dish in the Philippines that consists of pig parts. Picture golden crispy fries, covered with cheese, sisig, mayo, a secret sauce and topped with sriracha. Not a soggy fry in sight. Sinful fries but worth every bite. Sisig fried rice-A mixture of fried rice, pork diced up perfectly with strong flavors, and fried spam cubes. Thoughts? indulgence at its best! As for the Candy fried wings? With all the flag-waving and fanfare for this place on Yelp, I had to check it out! We visited on a Tuesday night around dinner time, and this place was packed with teenagers and slightly older gentleman who seemed to be a regular. He told us that we had to order the Warrior Dog - so we did! It took an awkward 5+ minutes to get the attention of the guy at the ordering counter. He whizzed by us about 10 times taking orders to other people, and seemed too busy for us. Ok, service isn't incredible, but how about the grub?? We eventually ordered 3 tacos (2 Fried Tilapia at $2.50/per, +1 free Pulled Pork tacos (reg. $2.25) I guess because of Taco Tuesday?), the Warrior Dog ($6), a small side of Garlic Noodles ($2.50), and a Thai Iced Tea ($2.50). There seems to be an extensive secret menu, since literally no one else in line behind us ordered anything off the main menu. If your main menu pales so hard in comparison to everything else, maybe consider switching things up? It took about 15 minutes to get our food, probably because there's only one dude back there cooking. It came packed to go in styrofoam and paper boxes, with no cutlery. We unpacked where we were and ate with our hands. I totally get the "taco truck" vibe, but if you have a physical storefront with ample tables and chairs, you're occasionally going to get someone that wants to stick around. Forks, please! The food - tasty! How do they do it? Grease, oil, aioli (mayo), bread, and sugar. SO much of all those things, I was violently sick less than an hour after eating there. The sweetest Thai Tea I've ever had, the oiliest garlic noodles, creamiest, fried-crunchiest tacos, and the baconiest, mayo-drizzled-iest hot dog. We ordered a really big order because even they were surprised so we said we got a big family, lol. I just tried their garlic fries and oh my! Best garlic fries by far. I love it! I love banh mi sandwiches too. I was a tad bit sad because they ran out of pulled pork but i got my fried tofu and since i know the garlic fries was really good, it'll be good too! Some of my family and myself decided to stop by Blue Saigon last night for dinner on the way home from my great niece's birthday party. Initially my wife and I were both going to order garlic noodles - my wife wanted garlic noodles with lemon pepper chicken and I wanted garlic noodles with spicy glazed tiger prawns. As we approached the cashier to order and pay for our food she informed us that my sister-in-law had just ordered the last of the garlic noodles for the day. At this point, we were both disappointed but the cashier offered fried rice as an alternative. The fried rice with both of our meats was a total hit! Mind you, my wife and I are from Contra Costa County but we live in Sacramento now and ordered our food to go and did not eat it until we arrived home an hour and 30 minutes later. Yes, the food was STILL GOOD! The restaurant itself is small with only a few seats so much customers order their food to-go. Blue Saigon also serves deep fried Oreos and Twinkies!
