We just had a terrible experience. We waited far too long for our meals to arrive. I ordered their special of lollipop lamb chops medium rare. The first order came out and every single chop was very overcooked. They took them back to get me what I ordered and the 2nd order was just as bad. While I did try to eat these, they tasted like the meat had been boiled and has a bitter vinegar-like taste. The waitress apologized & a hostess, too. They did remove the charge for my dinner & gave me a gift card for $10 in hopes we would come back. What could I possibly get fir $10. While my husband's meal was ok, he did not get to finish it as he, too, was so upset. We paid our bill for his meal & our drinks & left the waitress a 20%+ tip. Our first time yesterday to this little spot. Food was excellent. I had the baked scrod and my husband had the steak tips. Both meals were cooked to perfection and tasted fabulous. It is a small so seating and parking are minimal. Get there early. Definitely a return visit is warranted. read more

back again with an update! glad we secured a reservation because it was a busy tuesday night. we were greeted and seated quickly and our waitress was very sweet and attentive. the restaurant got even more busy after we sat down so we were thinking that the kitchen started getting jammed with orders as the food took a really really long time to come out BUT their cornbread basket is the perfect bite to have while waiting so it wasn't too bad. i am super indecisive so i ended up going with both the half lobster roll platter and the clam strips platter - the lobster roll and summer veggies were delicious, perfect with just a touch of added salt. the clam strips left just a bit to be desired but were good too, as were the french fries. overall, an absolutely delicious meal. i was a little disappointed that they were out of the s'mores cheesecake which i saved room for because it sounded absolutely divine but ended up driving all the way back to snag a pineapple upside down cake to go before they closed - worth the drive! bluepoint is a classic that we will always come back to - i love to try the different things here as there are so many good things on their menu! read more

First off the waitress seemed nice.Ordered fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. The fettuccine was very mushy too much oil and barely edible. Chicken was definitely microwaved. Got the scallops and clams. They were bland, no flavor and my fries were totally freezer burned. Got a meat pie to go that was also freezer burned. Will never go there again. The food is gross and there were fruit flies all around us and going in our food. Food is bad, bland and way too overpriced. read more

We tried this place for the first time today after seeing pictures of delicious looking food on Facebook. We got there at 2:30 in the afternoon thinking it wouldn't be too crowded but the place was packed. We were not at all disappointed. Natasha, one of the owners, was attentive and checked in with us often to see if we needed anything. She still managed to help tend bar and check in with other tables. She seemed to be everywhere at once. I had a bowl of chowder, which was probably the best chowder I've ever had. Creamy and full of flavor. I ordered a "special" that had half a lobster roll with fried fish, onion rings, and fries. My husband had the fish and chips. Everything is fresh, tender, flavorful, and abundant. It's obvious that food here is made from scratch as advertised. The menu is unique and offers multiple choices. We will most definitely be back. Go in and enjoy! read more

New management took over this restaurant in June, 2022. I had read several good reviews and could not wait to visit. This restaurant sent me home feeling very happy. I had seen good reviews and traveled 30 miles to get here. I had the Portuguese cod and ate every last bit. Seasoned haddock cooked with linguica, peppers, onions, diced potatoes and crowned in fried kale. Used every bit of the rolls provided to sop up the juices in this dish. The cornbread in that basket was a nice touch. My other half had the lobster roll and clam chowder combination. Chowder had plenty of clams in addition to the potatoes and even a bit of corn. After months of wanting to get there, we finally did and boy was it worth the wait! First, you guys rock at marketing. 1 way or another you guys were in my FB newsfeed every day multiple times. I never am allowed to forget, and not at all in an annoying way. But in a "where are we going for dinner?" and having a quick answer of "Blue Point!" kinda way! lmao I got the cacoila plate off the "Daily Specials". Amazing! super juicy and tasty house cut fries! My grandmother got the seafood platter. She will be eating that until April. OMG massive plate! She was very pleased. My mom got the pan seared scallops and angel hair pasta off the "Daily Specials" menu. This appears to be the best plate of the 3. Scallops were like butter melting in your mouth. Slammin'! The staff do not leaving you waiting or wanting. They don't leave it up to "your" waitress to do everything. It was 4pm we had reservations. Not a single table was empty so I suggest reserving a table at ANY time. So they have a couple of staff including the owner running the flow clearing tables, refilling drinks, bringing whatever you need aside from just your waitress. Upon noticing myself and grandmother both had Pepsi they brought a carafe of Pepsi for refills! Overall, they deserve all the recent props and success. This is probably my third or fourth visit here and I've always enjoyed it. There's a cozy, family friendly atmosphere here that I love. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful, very friendly and attentive. Masks were worn by all, everything was perfectly clean, the staff was diligently sanitizing and the seating was appropriately distanced. We started with drinks and a warm basket of fresh bread, the cornbread is a welcomed addition and simply delicious. This was my first time trying the Oysters Rockefeller here and would definitely order again! The Lobster Casserole was very good however I would likely order something different next time. read more

For the third time of using DoorDash for my order, items were missing, it was not the DoorDash delivery drivers fault any of the time, each time the bag was sealed by Blue Point staff. This is a review of take out product only. Terribly disappointed with the meat pie! I was born and raised in New Bedford, moved away from the area and would always look forward to returning and grabbing one of Blue Point's delicious meat pies when back to visit. Has the recipe changed? I recently visited, purchased (4) pies, cooked the first one and it was virtually tasteless. Lots of potato filler which I do not remember from the past. Very very good. Got take out for me, my husband & mother. It was ready to pick up fairly quick, about 20-25 minutes. We got a large fish & chip, a plain pizza, a linguica pizza, and a chicken & linguica mozambique (not sure if I spelled that right). We were all very happy. The mozambique also came with corn bread, which was delicious. The pizzas come in one size, and we got the thin crust (the girl who took my order asked if we wanted thin crust or thick, so they offer both) ... very very yummy ... everything was. This place is a true hidden gem. The service was awesome, great atmosphere, and the food was like home cooking but better, I didn't have to cook it. I had chicken soulvake, cooked perfectly, generous portions (2 meals out of it), hubby had a large clam boil, plenty in that as well. I highly recommend the crab cakes appetizer, so litely fried and full of crab . Delicious. We will definitely be back. Lived in New Bedford for 17 years and never knew about this place. Had dinner with my husband a few weeks ago. This was my first time here and I've always heard really good things so we decided to try. We were seated quickly and the server was very friendly. My husband ordered the chicken parmesan and loved it. It was a large serving and he was able to bring some home for leftovers. I had the meat pie and it was okay. It was a bit bland and luke warm in the middle. Last weekend we decided to order takeout. He ordered the chicken parmesan again and I ordered the turkey dinner special. I was expecting it to be carved turkey but it looked like deli meat although it was good. We also ordered kale soup for the both of us and I was very disappointed as it was a very small serving for the price (it appeared to be the size of a kiddie ice cream cup). Our go to for lunch and dinner. Since the new owners have been in the business for this last year, the food is a lot better. I've not had a bad meal from here. Try the chowder, try the stuffed quahogs. The clam boils are yummy. If you get a pizza (which you definitely should) try the homemade crust. Great staff, great owners. They remember their customers. I had the wings appetizer as my meal and they were delicious. The cornbread they gave us at the start was ok, kind of thick. The servers were great. It was a cute little place. I think it was a family business. One of their family members brought a baby in and it would not stop screaming because they were making it laugh.
