This place is so difficult. They don't like money here. They do everything in their power to make you not want to eat here. The last two times I called to place a carry out order, someone told me to call back in 5 minutes. I don't understand that. Very slow at the front desk. Everyone is lost. One desk to pay and the other desk is where they prepare the pick up orders. No communication. I paid at the pay desk and was asked if I paid yet 3 times after that at the pickup desk. I stared at my order sitting on the table for about 10 minutes after being told that was not my order. I could see my name on the ticket with my phone number but they insisted it was not my order. By some miracle, it ended up being my order. The one time we dined in, the sushi took so long that we just canceled and settled for the appetizers we already had on our table. Ended up getting sandwiches next door at Malek El Kabob which were really good. Malek el kabob has great service and solid food. They're alway professional and greeted me when I walked in. Food was ok. We got Nagasaki Ramen and extra spicy Hibachi Ramen (no broth for the latter). The ramen was quite plain- not much flavor. The spicy was more of a pepper taste. Nonetheless, it does the job since it's the only ramen place around here. Also ordered the Blue Fish Sushi Roll. It was good. Heavy on the cream cheese, but it was cut in such big chunks that you can't eat in one bite. The service was great though. She seemed like a young student working and she was the only one taking care of 3-5 tables. Even though it was a bit of a wait for basics, you could tell that she was trying her best. After reading the stellar reviews for Blue Fish, I was eagerly anticipating my first visit. Unfortunately, the entire dining experience left me and my dining companion underwhelmed. Our waiter, while very polite, was a lackadaisical server who seemed bored with his job. The restaurant was clean, and all of the servers and chefs were wearing facial masks, but the outer door was held open the entire time we were dining and we had to share our food with a housefly and a gnat. As for the food, we ordered four items from the "shareables" menu so we could try as much of the menu as possible and none of the dishes we sampled impressed us. Each dish came out as soon as it was prepared, about 10 minutes apart, which wasn't an issue for us, but if someone wanted to get all of their food at one time, this may be a concern. The first item that arrived was the Bomb Kimchi Fries. The fries themselves were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, but underseasoned. If you ate a fry and kimchi in one bite the underseasoned potato wasn't an issue, but as the dish only had about 1/2 cup of kimchi over a generous portion of fries, that wasn't always possible. This menu item was the favorite of the four for my niece, but we both wished that there was something more to the dish. Next to be presented to us was the Beef Bao, which was my favorite dish of the evening. Although the bun looked like styrofoam(yes, I know that's what it is supposed to look like), it was tender and tasty when combined with the beef. My niece didn't like the sauce on the beef, which tasted mainly of oyster sauce, but she did say that it was less objectionable when consumed with the bao bun. The sushi roll which was served next (I can't remember the name, but it was one of the special rolls) was very impressive in appearance and tasty, but it didn't wow me. Frankly, the taste wasn't much different than a roll I could get at a grocery store. Better tasting, yes, but not enough for the price point. Last, we received our fried calamari. Served atop a large bed of salad greens with a light vinegarette, the 4-5 pieces of calamari were tender, but these, as with the fries, were underseasoned. As neither salt, pepper, nor soy sauce was provided on any tabletop, we suffered in silence:) Overall, our dining experience wasn't horrible, but neither my niece nor I will visit Blue Fish again. read more

I tried the food here last weekend and I must say it was good. The sushi really tasted good. I'm very picky about my sushi. The thing is one of my special rolls was only 3 pieces so I don't know what happen with that. I placed a $200 order and didn't know what sushi roll was what so it was hard to figure out what happen exactly. I just wish it was alittle less expensive bc I would carry every weekend if it was. The special rolls are very up there for something so small. I also tried the crazy rice and noodles not sure what it's called exactly. It was also good but very small portion for the price of $16 each. The crazy ride was good but it lacked seasoning or soy sauce or something. Service wasn't the best I've ever had, and for having several vegan options on the menu, the server wasn't knowledgeable about what ingredients were vegan or not. But it might've just been someone new. They got almost everything to the table without too much of a delay. My partner had sushi and said it was average; Not bad at all, but not the best in town. I'm changing my review from 5 star to 1 star based on my experience this evening. My husband and I went to enjoy a late dinner. I ordered a salmon teriyaki for myself and 3 rolls for my husband at 7:10. We also ordered salads- their house salad is amazing. Our salads came out and we enjoyed them. We then waited for our entrees and they didn't come out. We noticed that others who came in after us were getting their food and we still had not gotten ours. About 50 minutes had passed and our waiter (Ronald? White black rimmed glasses) still didn't check in on us. We called out to another waiter and explained what happened and he came to tell us that our waiter didn't put in our entrees and he did just now and it would be another 10 minutes. We had no choice but to wait. Ronald came and said it would be 5-10 minutes without apologizing or showing any remorse. 12 minutes later, my husbands sushi came out and my salmon was nowhere to be seen. My husband didn't want to eat before my food came out but he was hungry and I sat twiddling my thumbs waiting for my dish. I asked the other waiter about the salmon and he said he would check on it. At this point I was just irritated and didn't want to eat anymore. I told them to cancel the order. The second waiter brought out our bill- Ronald was still walking around serving others. He didn't come near our table nor did he apologize. Maybe my hijab scared him off? I told him thank you for ruining our night and he said "I profusely apologize" but it was very ingenuine because neither did he attempt to remedy the situation nor did he talk to us during the situation. My husband and I came here for dinner and it surpassed all of our expectations. We had a sampler of a few of their offerings. The sushi was great, and I was very excited to see dim sum on the menu, can't go wrong with dumplings! We also ordered a bao bun because I've had a craving since I had some in NYC. The beef was excellently seasoned and cooked. I didn't have the ramen or udon but I saw it on other customers' tables and they looked good, really excited to try it next time. They don't seem to have dedicated servers vs busers nor do they seem to have any table layouts. I've gotten Ramen for takeout before and it was absolutely delicious- left overs for days ! Last night I went with a small group to enjoy a sit down meal since Dave's Hot Chicken line was too long. I ordered the Karaage chicken, which came out fried with too much flour, since there was still a dusting on the chicken after the initial fry. The Crab Castle sushi proved to be more than disappointing, and was not able to finish the moderately sized roll. The Bulgolgi steak came out as a mangled mess atop a bed of vegetables that were clearly an afterthought and undercooked. I believe this place to be a hit or miss depending on the dish you order.
